Chapter 5 - Complex Adult Dog

****

The Dog-Hybrids Point Of View

Emotions? I'm an adult, I understand them. I may not fully get this world yet, but I know that I cannot murder other people, and I am also aware that I can't hurt them, that would be wrong.

I mean, isn't that the golden rule?

Not sure why I know that, or why I can comprehend thought and emotions to this degree, but honestly who cares.

I'm just happy to be alive.

I can't be clingy to friends and family, that would be weird. Obviously, there's no room for outward insecurity. Who cares what people think of features I can't control? I should only focus on what I can augment.

This and that, notion and morals over there. I know of all of them, and I follow them.

I am a good person.

I'm not sure if a god exists, but I really want to believe that he does.

That loneliness I felt before I gained sentience, it was something I never want to feel again.

Fear.

Excitement

Love.

Boredom.

These seem to be the core feelings humans cherish and hate the most.

I have no idea what's next for me, but I want to learn as much as I can about this world and its people.

My name?

Let's see…

Arthur seems like a prideful name.

Like a king, yeah. Not that I would want to be one.

If I was one though, It would be one of the greatest kingdoms known to man. No one would starve, and the lands would be taken care of, as radiant as they deserve to be.

POV OF THE WARPS:

After some time of thought, he answered Patrick's question swiftly.

"I've been thinking about it. Thanks for patiently waiting. Arthur. That'll be my name." Arthur said to the family, where Patrick, contrary to the rest of them, smiled brightly.

"That's great to hear brother. Welcome to the Williams."

The rest of the Williams shrugged, their smiles slowly coming into action.

Yet as it completed, the house began to shake, ever so slowly…

And from the sky, a man who was scarcely known to Patrick in that vicinity uttered an announcement.

Looking up, admiring the vacant area that they couldn't see, they all listened in awe.

"Your mundane lives are no more. And to ensure that, I'll show you the thrill of adventure. If at any point you wish to return to this boring planet, let Patrick know. But trust me…"

The floor under them lit up in an azure bright fixture, barely lighting them up at their feet.

In a human response, the six of them averted their gazes to the ground, trying to stabilize their bodies.

Blazes eyes dilated even further, and his mushroom trip wasn't helping, "I'm totally freaking out right now. Did I get laced?"

"You will eternally thank me that I gave you guys this opportunity." The ominous voice ended.

Blaze to the left of the doorway was taking deep, meditative breaths, "Don't worry, this will be all over soon."

Different from the other family members, Wendel and Patrick were grinning like they'd just won the lottery.

This was because their two magical fantasies were coming true.

A geek's dream, but in this case, these two geeks could both be professional athletes due to their size.

Yacy, who was standing next to Blaze, was blankly zoning out, capturing the corner of a painting, "Is he saying that this new place won't be so boring? Is he really saying that I'll be able to do more than just roam the streets and observe society? Will my dreams finally come true?" Her depressive tone sang volumes as a bunch of lines formed in every direction at the bottom of the Livingroom floor.

With the swift sound of countless bells ringing, all five and half humans vanished into thin air.

They all reappeared in their designated rooms within a royal palace.

Patrick awoke to the knock of a butler, and his voice was that of a male, "Mr.Warp, that breakfast you wanted last night is here. May I come in?"

Shocked, Patrick smiled once more, "Yeah, please do."

Blaze awoke in a room where a billboard with connected human drawings and writing existed, all tied with string and thumb nails.

"You have to be kidding me. I'm a conspiracy theorist in a fantasy world? Funny, funny, this is just hilarious. Not that I'm not already invested." He leaned in to read the details.

Yacy and Varney were both teleported to the kitchen.

"Are you fucking kidding me? So this god has jokes." Yacy yelled with agitation before Varney could say so.

"I was going to say the same thing!" Varney articulated before her eyes turned bright upon twisting her head to the left and seeing the fancy, sixteen stove kitchen in front of her.

"I... can make so many meals at once." Lost in some sort of awe-struck, Varney completely forgot about her past statements, practically changing right then and there, "Someone has to cook, and unlike you daughter, I take pride in it."

Yacy rolled her eyes, walking out of the humongous kitchen, "Have fun with that, I'm going to find the rest of the family."

"Not without me you are." Varney followed, the both of them exiting the giant gold-plated double doors.

From what they could see, the castle that they were in was themed as the mineral that makes humans go crazy in greed.

Gold.

Wendel and Arthur, they were in the throne room. And to the fifteen year old's surprise, Arthur was sitting in the throne, his demeanor audacious as his fanged smile.

The family was ecstatic, all excited at these invigorating events, but going back to Patrick's room, a certain conversation began.

One that these two men will remember for ages to come.
