After defeating the Dragon Slayer, I have obtained one of the four Keys. As soon as my hand touched the golden item, a huge burst of power surges from within me. I felt strong… Stronger than before. My power doubled. My body couldn't contain the power running wild inside me, so I let them loose around me. A powerful shock wave bursts from me, pushing everything that was around me. My power let loose. The ground cracked. Tornadoes were being formed due to my power. While the sun is still out, it has become dark as I let everything run wild from me. After a few minutes, everything calmed down. My body felt light. I felt powerful and stronger than before. It is like I can take on those five beings once again.
"So this is the power of the Spirit of Light and Strength." I tested my body by doing random combinations of martial arts. Then I tested my magic, seeing how powerful they have become. To my surprise, it exceeded my expectations. "This is just from one key. Now imagine if I have all the keys." I said. I stared at the direction where Cecilia's scent lingered. "If I want to become strong, I have to get her first."
After resting for a few minutes, I resumed my journey, following Cecilia's scent which is getting stronger and stronger as I follow it more and more. Days have gone by, followed by weeks. The scent was becoming thicker and stronger. I am almost there… My excitement is brimming so much that whenever I fought monsters on the way, I couldn't control myself. I was running wild like a beast that has no control of itself.
Several days have passed, and I am almost entering another territory. After many years of exploring, I feel like this country is getting smaller and smaller. I have explored almost everything in this land. When this is done, I'll probably go outside the country and go on vacation. Whenever this journey is finished. But that joyful fantasy quickly disappeared as a horde of huge monsters surrounded me.
I stopped moving. I stared them down despite the huge gap between our heights. But I felt like I was more enormous than them. Is it because of my power? They were all crunching down like cowards. I can see their sweats slowly pouring down from their nasty flesh. Their eyes can't even look at me straight for a few seconds. They are scared. But for some reason, I don't smell any bad intentions. As if… They come in peace?
"What do you want?" I asked, breaking the silence first so that they could speak.
"Black Dragon Killer, we have come to deliver a message from the leaders of the Monster Alliance." One of the monsters spoke. His voice is shaking, but he is trying his best. I respect that.
"What message?" Monster Alliance… After Ragnarok started, monsters with high intelligence formed a huge alliance between all kinds of monsters.
"The leaders have caught their attention after you have killed Zorodumus." I tilted my head after hearing an unknown name. But I remembered the half dragon and half human I fought and killed back then.
"Are you talking about the Dragon Slayer guy?" I asked just to be sure.
"Yes." They replied. "He has an item which boosts his powers. Zorodumus was one of the leaders of Monster Alliance. However, after his death, his leadership position was relinquished. The spot is empty and we are looking for someone worthy to take his place." I don't like where this is going. I already know what they will say next, but I already know what my answer would be.
"If you are here to recruit me to be your leader, I decline." I said with confidence. "I have my own journey and war to finish. So I would kindly ask you to not get in my way." My eyes glared in gold and my body burst with power, putting heavy pressure on the monster's body. They almost fell down from the sudden pressure, kneeling down to keep them from falling face first.
One of them spoke. "Very well. Then it is a war!" He roared as loud as he could, turning his last words into a battle cry that I didn't notice until it was too late. Soon, dark portals opened throughout the sky. The sun turned dark and blue clouds became black. The gusts of wind became faster and the temperature became cold. Within a blink of an eye, millions of monsters appeared from the portal, hovering everywhere in the sky.
I sighed, not caring for their numbers or sizes. I am annoyed. I didn't expect that guy that I killed was a huge shot. It seems that I didn't dodge a bullet here this time. But then again, I don't plan to delay my mission. Since they want me that bad, I will entertain them for a little. Let's see if they will still want me after. That is… If they are still alive.
I activated my Shadow Field, covering everything within 20 miles in shadows. After obtaining the Key, my power has doubled. My skills have gotten stronger and powerful as well. They were hesitant when they saw my Shadow Field, so they didn't touch the ground. They just kept flying in the air, thinking they were safe. But they were not.
I clapped my hands together, and spread them outwards from me. Millions of swords made from the shadows appeared, then I pointed my finger towards the Monster Alliance, giving them a signal to attack. Soon, shadows and monsters clashed.
Monsters swooped down to try catching me, but hordes of hands that appeared from the shadows grabbed hold of them, snapping their wings like a wood being snapped in half. Then I let the swords do their job. I summoned my friend, the serpentine. I let her wild run in the playground, killing every monster she encounters. More monsters tried to approach me from behind. But I spun myself, using my momentum to kick them as hard as I could. Then shadow tentacles came out from the shadow ground, whipping the monsters hard and smashing those who were on the ground.
Even though I was just alone faced against the entire Monster Alliance, I was the one winning. Then, dragons began to appear from the portals. The dragons opened their mouths and a wave of fire breathed out from them, trying to burn me alive. But I created a wall made of shadows as a barrier to protect me from their breath. After the breath was gone, I summoned hundreds of hands above them, raining down like a meteor towards them. The Monster Alliance that were still in the air was struck by the hands, quickly falling down until they broke into pieces as they hit the ground hard.
"How could this be…" I heard one of them speak. "She just obtained the Key, yet she is this powerful."
I smiled. "This is what happens if you get in my way. Are you watching this, mother? This is my creation… This is an art for you." The entire battlefield was covered with shadows, corpses, and magic. It is like a fantasy… Like an art… The view is like a painting for my eyes. I closed my eyes, feeling the wind and listening to the sound of war. For some reason… I find peace to this sound. I love it.
Then, I heard a horn being blown from the distance. I looked over my shoulder to see millions of humans charging in against the Monster Alliance. Soon, it has become an all out war.
"Looks like you just started a huge scale war, little Ashe." King Gia appeared beside me in his full battle gear.
"What? Are you joining this war too?" I asked, rolling my eyes.
"Yes. Because I received an intel that you might want to hear." He said in a serious tone.
"What is it?" I asked.
"Cecilia has obtained three Keys. It seems that the Monster Alliance had the other one all along. Now, Cecilia has sided with the Monster Alliance." King Gia said.
I sighed. I looked at the portals where many more monsters are coming out. After the appearance of a new wave of monsters, that is where I saw her.
"Cecilia…" White short hair hanging until her shoulders. Her whole body is covered in white armor with black dragon eyes that seems to be moving on its own. White wings on her back. Those red eyes that seem to be laughing at you…
"I am siding with humanity. We can't let someone like her win and become a ruler of this world." King Gia said.
"Yeah. You're right." I said, catching King Gia in surprise. "At first, I didn't want to join either side. But after hearing your news and seeing it with my own eyes… I'll kill her and the entire Monster Alliance for joining hands with that bitch."
My eyes glared in gold. My whole body was covered with shadow armor which concealed me from head to toe, only leaving my golden eyes in the open. Two dragonic-like horns appeared from my forehead. In the middle of my chest, a golden dragonic eye was opened.
After transforming, my golden eyes and Cecilia's crimson eyes locked eyes together. "I finally found you."
