As they walked up the mountains it started to snow, "Isn't winter still away?" Lyra asked. She looked at Kael who was a few feet ahead of her. He turned and said, "Not when we are going up. If you want to rest we can?" He looked at her concerned. She stopped and said, "It's fine I'll rest once we got there." They continued to walked up the mountains her father had other problems.
At the Alpha's cave:
"Look for her now! I don't care how but now!" Her father yelled at the guards. One stood up and said, "She went up the mountains with an unkown male. We can't go there none of us have that training." He said. Her father looked very angry. Then he yelled, "I don't care! My wife lost our son so go find her!" He stormed off
Back at the mountain:
"I'm going to rest, Kael." He nodded showing her a place to rest and she instantly collapsed on the place. Kael laughed and said, "If you told me you needed to rest I would've carried you." She muttered under her breath, "You won't be able to carry me. You couldn't even fought off those humans. I though half-breeds knew how to scare them? Guess it's not true. I'm going to sleep." She closed her eyes and fell asleep.
The next morning she woke up feeling fresh. She got up and went outside to go hunt. Just as she caught a deer one of the guards grabbed her, "Let me go!" She yelled as she struggled. He guard didn't let her go as he ran down the mountain. She bit and kicked like crazy bu he didn't even flinch. When they reached the bottom they ran to the cave.
"et me go!" She yelled again then he dropped her by her father's feet. "Now you can't run." Said her father as she stood up. "What do you want, father?" She growled. Her father smirked and said, "Your mother had a miscarriage so you'll be the next leader so you'll learn the ways of being Alpha. No excuses!" He said. Lyra rolled her eyes and said, "I won't do as you say. You never cared about me so why would I?" He turned around and glared at her, "You will do as I say." "No I won't I don't care if I'm banished from the pack as long as it means staying away from you I don't care."
They fought until her mother walked in and touched her shoulders and said, "Let her live her life. She's still a child. We can't control her no matter what so let her find a mate and do wild things while she can." She smiled at Lyra then her father said, "Fine you have one year but after that you will do your duties, you hear." She nodded as her mother and father left.
I'll be free I can't wait to tell Kael. No he can go home and I'll be free. I won't have to listen to anyone any more.
On the mountain Kael was worried because Lyra wasn't home. He thought she might be out hunting but he couldn't help but worry she might get hurt.
