Chapter 87 - Chapter 88: This... Foolish Man

"That's not necessary. This well-behaved Makoto-kun, I like him quite a lot too..."

Fortunately, Urozakuro was currently in her phantom state. Otherwise, Makoto would undoubtedly have felt the warm breath lightly exhaled from her mouth.

Without question, in his previous interactions with Urozakuro, Makoto always held the upper hand. Toward this enigmatic individual, he mostly adopted an indifferent attitude.

But now, upon realizing that Urozakuro could completely ignore Aizen's "Complete Hypnosis" ability and continuously monitor him within the Seireitei, Urozakuro's value had shifted significantly in Makoto's eyes.

Who cares about Soya Azashiro's Zanpakuto, Urozakuro? This is my dear Zaku-sister!

"Zaku-sister, could you help me monitor Aizen? Especially if anything related to me occurs, let me know immediately, would you?" Makoto asked gently.

"Three hours," Urozakuro said, raising three fingers towards him with a playful smile.

Hearing this, Makoto breathed a sigh of relief.

"Three hours?! If Captain Azashiro found out, he'd think I was undervaluing Zaku-sister. Four hours! No, five!"

"Oh?" Urozakuro smiled slyly. "Makoto-kun, I was referring to three hours per day."

"What?!"

In that instant, Makoto's face twisted.

A day only had twenty-four hours. Deduct eight hours for sleep, eight for gynecology duty, and a bit more for training and maintaining interpersonal relationships (including Captain Unohana). His actual free time amounted to just two or three hours.

This was… squeezing him dry!

Yet, the next moment, Makoto's face softened into reluctant acceptance.

"Zaku-sister, this frequency… I really can't handle it. I'm afraid I'll become addicted to your voice. How about… three hours a month?"

"Cheeky little brother, are you trying to insult me? At least three hours every two days!"

"Zaku-sister, it's not that I can't spare the time, but if we interact too often, I'm afraid you might grow tired of me. Maintaining a sense of novelty is important too."

"Then how often do you think, cheeky brother?"

"Every half-month... three hours?"

"Cheeky brother, you spend more than three hours in the restroom every half-month. What am I to you?"

???!!!

Makoto was stunned.

How did she even know my bathroom habits with such terrifying accuracy?

Finally, after much back-and-forth, Urozakuro begrudgingly agreed to a weekly three-hour gossip session.

But as Makoto looked as though he'd just signed a humiliating contract, Urozakuro smirked and teased, "Cheeky brother, don't worry. I guarantee it'll be worth your time."

Despite his bitter expression, Makoto knew this was true.

For the next hundred years, Aizen would undoubtedly remain the greatest threat.

As long as Urozakuro could keep an eye on him, Makoto's situation would be far safer. At the very least, he wouldn't have to worry about becoming one of Aizen's Hollowfication experiments.

However, Urozakuro's next revelation left Makoto completely dumbfounded.

"In fact, ever since cheeky brother returned to the Seireitei, Aizen Sosuke has often written your name in his room. Occasionally, he'll even stare at it and smile for an hour or two."

???

Makoto froze.

That… sounded so ambiguous.

Almost like a lovestruck maiden obsessing over a crush.

"Urozakuro, are you sure… you're not under Aizen's Complete Hypnosis?" Makoto asked skeptically.

"Of course not… Wait, didn't you just call me Zaku-sister?"

Even Urozakuro's tone grew tinged with grievance.

But Makoto was too preoccupied to care. He couldn't help but question the validity of her intel.

Aizen, the man who manipulated both the Soul Society and Hueco Mundo with ease—how could he possibly engage in such bizarre behavior?

It had to be an illusion caused by Complete Hypnosis!

No, wait!

In an instant, Makoto realized the glaring flaw in that logic.

If this were an illusion created by Kyoka Suigetsu, it would mean Aizen had already detected Soya Azashiro and Urozakuro's presence.

More importantly, he would have noticed Makoto's interactions with Urozakuro!

And that… was nearly impossible.

Given that Urozakuro had previously detected Aizen's covert departure with Tosen Kaname without being influenced by Complete Hypnosis, it was clear she was immune to its effects.

Therefore, there was a 99% chance that what Urozakuro described was real.

Following this line of thought, Makoto felt a chill run down his spine.

Aizen secretly writing his name and smiling for hours… this… this was borderline obsessive!

Could it be… Aizen had certain intentions towards him?

Makoto's pupils contracted, and every pore on his body tightened as unsettling images filled his mind.

He could almost imagine Aizen, a handsome man himself, softly saying:

"If it's for Makoto-kun, destroying not just a plaza but even the entire Soul Society wouldn't matter to me..."

*(TL/N - NAH SHT WTF?💀💀)

Horrified, Makoto shook his head furiously, erasing the image entirely.

No, this couldn't be true!

Aizen wasn't that type of man. And he himself certainly wasn't!

By rational deduction, Aizen likely viewed him as an ideal experimental subject.

Still, the thought of what Urozakuro described made Makoto feel as though he were sitting on needles, his unease rising.

Desperate to regain composure, he asked, "Zaku-sister, aside from this, is there any other intel from Aizen regarding me?"

"Hmph!"

Urozakuro snorted in dissatisfaction before recounting Aizen's seemingly coincidental meeting with Makoto and a conversation involving Yamada Seinosuke.

Yamada Seinosuke?!

Realizing he had been set up by Seinosuke, Makoto almost choked.

But more pressing was the fact that he needed to understand Aizen's motives clearly.

This… was no longer a matter that could be ignored.
