"Hey Richard, wait for me! "
Running deep in the forest was a boy with pale white skin paired with blue eyes and white hair; the girl, meanwhile, had porcelain skin; she had red eyes paired with red hair.
"Ha! You're way too slow!"
The girl glared at the boy and ran even faster than before, catching up with him in no time. Not wasting any time after keeping up with him, she swung her fist behind his back.
"AUGH!"
He let out a pained groan due to the critical hit he received from the girl and hit the ground. While the girl simply smiled triumphantly.
"Not so fast now, huh?"
The boy, still facing the ground, spoke with a tone of annoyance.
"I'm going to curse you forever."
The red-haired child simply shrugged and smiled at the boy.
"Do as you please; you started it."
The girl gazed at the sky and noted that it was almost time to retreat back to their respective homes for dinner. But just when she was about to tell him they should go back, they heard a loud thud nearby.
Looking at each other nervously, they slowly nodded at one another before moving to the origin of the loud noise.
As they slowly approached, they saw a child who seemed to be two to three years younger than them lying down with his face on the ground; his body was shaking uncontrollably, and he seemed to be unconscious.
Looking at each other once again, the girl slowly approached the unconscious boy and moved his body to face away from the ground and gently rolled him; she brought her ear closer to his chest.
"It seems like this boy is still alive, although he's extremely cold, but still alive. Help me carry him back home quick."
The boy wanted to say something but decided against it and hesitantly complied with the girl's command. The girl seemingly noticed the boy's hesitance, opened her mouth, and spoke in a whispering tone.
"Don't worry, I know we're barely scraping by; your family can't care for another person, and the same can be said with mine, so I'll just tell mom to drop him off the orphanage by tomorrow."
The boy looked at her and spoke.
"Why not now?"
The girl looked at the boy sternly.
"Because it's night time, you know how far the city is from our village, right? Not to mention how dangerous it can be traveling during the night."
He looked at the girl and nodded.
'What was the boy doing here so deep in the woods? And why so far deep in the south of all places? '
The girl thought silently.
***
Having a feeling of sensation was strange to this boy; this was the very first time he had experienced such a thing to begin with; he felt very cold along with his consciousness barely hanging there.
Despite the fact that he was feeling something foreign to him, he forced his eyes to open, and what he saw next was incomprehensible to him.
He carefully observed the things that were moving and making sounds.
The moving things slowly moved closer to him, and he stood alert.
"Hello there, can you hear me?"
Looking at the thing with caution, the boy simply glared at the thing and hissed at it, Another thing came behind the walking object.
"It appears that he's unable to understand us, sir."
the other object replied.
"Yes, that much is obvious; he looks to be between the ages of seven to eight years old. It is strange that he's unable to communicate nor understand our language."
"Indeed, it is strange, since the language that we are using is the only known language that we humans have used since the times of the gods. Even the languages of the gods have long ceased to be remembered."
The other thing shrugged.
"True, true; maybe he's from another continent?"
"Jokes like that are not appropriate, even if you have a high ranking in the medical field, sir."
The object warned sternly.
"Ehem, my apologies; anyways, he'll be subjected to investigation just in case he's a threat."
"Duly noted."
With those parting words, they left.

Inside an isolated room, a boy with black hair along with black eyes that is seemingly devoid of anything is staring at the door where those creatures would occasionally enter. The door opened, and what came next were two objects.
They began making loud noises as if fighting with each other; the boy watching them was helpless.
As the objects slowly approached the boy, the child became feral, ready to pounce at them the moment they got closer to him.
But the boy realized that he could no longer move at all, nor could he see anything again; all that was left was darkness. A few moments after that, the boy once again woke up; he stared at the old man sitting on a metal chair with caution.
A few seconds went by before the old man opened his mouth to utter his words.
"Do you understand us now, little boy?"
The man inquired, and the boy's eyes widened. How could he understand the meaning of the noise they are making now? It just didn't make any sense; he blacked out, and after that, his vision returned along with this new ability to comprehend the noise these men made. Not waiting for another second, the boy answered.
"Yes..."
The old man in black nodded and spoke with a generous tone.
"I see, my apologies if my abilities made you uncomfortable; my ability is related to minds after all."
He scrutinized the boy, looking from the bottom of his body to the top.
"You are a child, and yet it appears that you've experienced some things that most of us wouldn't even dream of experiencing."
Taking note of the child's action and puzzled face, he followed up with his words.
"Oh, my apologies, but I assumed that you've experienced some very horrible things based on your memories, because all I've seen in your memory is literal nothingness until it became something."
He looked at the child once again.
"As you can see, I can read a person's mind, but it looks like I have some limitations, especially when it comes to you. I could see your memories just a minute ago, but now that I gave you a way to communicate, I stopped having access to your memories, and I wonder why."
Staring at the child with interest, he once again spoke.
"I gave you a way to understand the words that we are saying so I can read your mind as I question you, just to know your origin. But it ended up being useless in the end."
Realizing that the interrogation might as well end up in failure, and with no way to uncover the truth behind the child's origin. The boy became a threat to the security of not just the country but the whole continent. The old man in black once again spoke.
"You will be identified as a threat to the security of this country, since it is impossible to know what's going on inside that head of yours."
Staring at the boy, he continued speaking.
"However, due to your age, we won't be able to detain you, and we also lack the evidence that you really are a threat. So you are to be treated as a regular citizen. Should you decide to act in a suspicious or questionable manner, we will not hesitate to put you down. Even if you're only 8 years old, you should be able to understand what I'm saying since I gave you the ability to do so."
The boy staring at the old man kept quiet, but the old man didn't mind.
"You're going to go back to the hospital as if nothing happened; you will live in an orphanage and grow up. Make your own contribution to society just as I and many others have."
As he stood up and turned his back on the boy, he once again spoke.
"The ability I gave you to understand and speak the language is yours now, since I am unable to retract those vocabularies from your mind. Well then, goodbye creature."
They continued walking out of the room, and as they left the room he simply stared at the door and murmured.
"How amusing."
