Chereads / Amphibia AU: Far From Home (Owlphibia) / Chapter 30 - Hell Have No Fury

Chapter 30 - Hell Have No Fury

Anne was with her family within the main building of the Thai Community Temple.

She gazed out the window as a swarm of robotic insects (sent by King Andrias)

continued to attack the temple, intent on killing EVERYONE along with Anne herself.

The only defense against this threat was Olivier Clawthorne,

who had cast a massive energy bubble over the Temple grounds to shield everyone.

However, that shield had since shattered from the barrage of attacks.

Olivier was now overcharged with light energy, battling the metal bugs.

Anne knew this was an extremely risky move.

It took Olivier a great deal of magic to cast his shield from before,

and without any time to rest, going into his 'Powered-Up Form' was very dangerous.

Everyone watched from the windows as the now silver haired teenager flew over the Temple,

blasting golden energy beams from his hands, as well as channeling it from his falcon staff.

Every shot hit it's mark, obliterating a great number of the 'attack drones'.

However, with every ten or twenty Olivier destroyed, hundred more took their place.

Anne's own Calamity Power resonated with Olivier's magic...she could feel his power draining.

He would need to stop soon, or else he would burn himself out completely

And, Anne knew that could prove fatal to the Witch Boy. The only reason he hadn't yet,

was because of Fleetwing's own magic keeping Olivier's stable...but he couldn't keep it up forever.

Olivier paused for a moment, breathing heavily. He was getting fatigued.

This was the longest he had ever been in his overcharged state.

He looked and saw more of Andrias' attack robots advancing, firing their laser weapons.

Olivier quickly threw up glass-like shields from his palms, blocking the shots.

But, as some stray shots started to hit the Thai Temple buildings...he winced.

He felt so tired...but he couldn't stop now. If he did, then everyone would be killed.

Anne...her parents..the Plantars...Maddie, and all the Thai people here.

He couldn't let them die...no, he WOULDN'T let them die. He had to end this NOW.

"fleetwing." spoke Olivier, calmly.

The Falcon Palisman flew from it's now disappeared staff, hovering before it's master.

"you know what must be done." said Olivier, is tone lacking any emotion.

The Falcon made a sad expression. It nuzzled Olivier one final time, before it finally flew back to the Thai Temple.

Anne then watched with wide eyes as Olivier teleported himself between the main temple

where everyone was hiding, and the robotic swarm that was currently threatening them.

Olivier then began to charge the last bit of magic that he had left

(His gemstone now flashing rapidly, as if warning that his energy levels were critical.)

Ignoring his bodily pain, Olivier put his palms together,

and poured all his power into charging up a golden-yellow orb.

Olivier then began to recite a verbal incantation that he learned on Earth.

"Kaaa...meee..."

The attack drones fired their rapid laser shots at Olivier.

But, due to the energy field surging over him, he barely even felt the shots.

"Haaa...Meee..."

Olivier's ball of energy grew bigger, and bigger with every passing second.

Soon, the orb was twice the size of a basketball, and shining like a mini-sun in his hands.

With his last ounce of strength...Olivier finally unleashed his offensive spell.

(("HAAAAAAAAAAA!"))

Olivier yelled out as he launched the most powerful blast of energy he had ever unleashed.

It was a massive beam of light that bystanders had to shield their eyes from due to it's intensity.

The beam shot clear into the sky, resembling some kind of Reverse-Bolt of Lightning.

Everyone from MILES away could see it, in Shock, Awe and utter confusion at what it was.

The beam was so powerful, it actually breached the planet's atmosphere. shooting off into deep space.

When everyone's vision returned...the attack drones were now all gone.

Not one scrap of metal remained.

Initially, the Thai People cheered...until they saw Olivier drop from the sky like a stone.

"OLIVEEEEERR!" screamed Anne, running out of the temple.

Anne ran to the crater in the ground where Olivier now lay.

He had reverted back to his normal form, his hair now auburn again.

However...he remained motionless.

Anne dropped down, and tried to help her boyfriend up.

But his cries of agony compelled her to just support his body.

Anne's family, and the rest of the Thai People then gathered around.

All watching in utter silence as Anne held the boy who had just saved all their lives.

"is...is everyone-"

"everyone is fine." said Anne, trying not to cry. "we're okay...thanks to you."

"g-good..."

Anne looked at Olivier's gemstone. It's light was dim, and now pulsing like a heartbeat monitor.

Olivier clutched Anne's hand, and looked up at her with tire, weary eyes.

"could you...d-do something for me?" spoke Olivier, his voice weak.

"anything." said Anne.

"t-take care of fleetwing...and if you find my mother. tell her...that I'm sorry."

"no, don't talk like that. You'll b-"

"anne...thank you for being in my life." said Olivier, slowly drifting. "I...I luuuhhhhh..."

It that moment...the pulsing the Olivier's gemstone finally stopped, the light snuffed out.

Olivier's grip on Anne's hand became loose, until it finally slipped from her grasp.

Anne stared with wide eyes as Olivier stared blankly at her.

He was no longer looking at her. in fact, Anne saw nothing in his eyes...NOTHING.

"ollie?" blurted Anne, her voice meek. "Oliver?...Oliver, speak to me. PLEASE."

Olivier didn't respond...at all.

Terror gripped Anne as she placed her ear at Olivier's chest.

And to her horror, she could no longer hear his heartbeat, nor a single breath.

Worse yet...she could no longer feel Olivier's magic resonating with her Calamity power.

It was as if all of his light and shadow magic had completely burned out. there was NOTHING.

nothing but coldness...a cold, LIFELESS-

"no...No, it can't be. YOU can't!" Anne began to cry.

The bitter truth was literally staring her in the face, but she didn't want to believe it.

This WASN'T how this was suppose to happen...It couldn't end like this!

"anne." spoke Oum. "Anne, I'm sorry...but he's-"

"don't say it...DON'T YOU F*CKING DARE SAY IT!" shouted Anne, angrily.

Anne's mother stepped back, both her and her husband stunned at their daughter's sudden rage.

Anne then looked at Olivier once more. And as she gazed at his dead eyes...she finally accepted the truth.

Olivier Clawthorne. the Half-Witch Boy of the Boiling Isles...was DEAD.

Anne finally shut Olivier's eyes, and embraced her once boyfriend tightly.

She allowed her tears to flow freely as she sobbed, grieving for he now lost love.

After crying for what felt like eternity, Anne felt another feeling rise within her.

It made her the ground beneath her start to rumble...as blue volts flickered from her body.

Her frizzy hair then began to rise and fall as it's color shifted from brown, to blue.

The Plantars then stepped back, knowing full well what was going to happen.

...they had seen it happen before.

(("AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHH!"))

Anne screamed like a banshee as her body flared with blue energy.

The Blue Energy shot up into the sky with the same intensity as Olivier's prior attack.

When the beam faded, Anne slowly stood up. carrying Olivier's lifeless body in her arms.

Anne, however...was different now. A LOT different.

Her hair was raised like the last time she had powered-up.

Only instead of her hair being bright blue, it was now a much DARKER shade of blue.

When Anne turned...everyone (even her own family) stepped back in fright,

as Anne's glowing blue eyes now had coal black sclera like Olivier's eyes were in his Dark Form.

Anne had a cold glare, though fresh tears continued to fall down her cheek.

If looks could kill, Everyone would've dropped dead in Anne's presence by now.

Anne finally began to walk, her footsteps making the ground rumble.

Everyone stepped back as Anne carried Olivier back to the Temple...ALONE.

Inside the temple...'Dark Anne' laid Olivier down upon a stone table.

She placed his hands over where his heart was, and kneeled before her dead lover.

Dark Anne spoke a silent prayer (her voice distorted, sounding more like a Demon.)

She then rose up and gazed upon Olivier one more time.

Anne had been chosen by the Calamity Stone of HEART because of her capacity for Love.

But, all the love that was in Anne's heart had now been shattered.

And where Love once burned like a flame, had now frozen over into a new emotion.

HATE.

and, a Loving Heart twisted with Hatred...was something very, VERY dangerous.

Dark Anne finally took Olivier's cloak and Gemstone, and put it on herself.

The Gem shined dark blue, with no gold. Crackling with electrical volts.

As she walked away, Fleetwing flew to her and changed into Palisman form.

Dark Anne took Olivier's magic staff...which was now HER staff.

Anne was more determined than ever to return to Amphibia.

only this time, she had a new goal in mind...

(("I am going to KILL you, Andrias.")) spoke Dark Anne, demonically.

(("...ne?, an...ne?")) spoke a muffled voice.

(("ANNE!?"))

[***END OF DREAM***]

Anne awoke on a couch in her parents basement, her body being shaken awake.

"Anne, wake up!" spoke a voice.

Anne looked...and stared in shock upon seeing Olivier.

"Anne, are you okay?!" spoke Olivier. "I heard you making weird noises in your sleep."

Anne said nothing...she just embraced Olivier, tightly.

"AH-ANNE?!"

"you're alive...You're alive!" cried Anne.

Olivier started to grasp what was happening, and hugged his girlfriend back.

"it's okay...whatever it was you saw, it's okay." said Olivier, softly. "I'M" Okay."

Anne pulled away for a moment to look at Olivier.

"I had the most horrible dream, Oliver...I saw-, you...and then, I-"

"try to put it out of your mind, annie..." spoke Olivier. "Believe me, I understand how you feel right now."

Anne looked down, recalling how just last night Olivier had his own nightmare about her.

She never asked him about it, though (she wondered if perhaps she should.)

"do you...need me to keep you company?" asked Olivier.

"YES." said Anne, without hesitation. "please...I need you here with me."

Olivier nodded, and sat down beside Anne on the bed-like couch.

The pair shared a blanket, wrapping it around them both as they huddled together.

"hold me." spoke Anne.

Olivier did as his girlfriend asks, and pulled Anne into an embrace.

Anne rested her head against his chest, listening as his heart continued to beat.

(("keep beating...never stop beating.")) thought Anne.

Olivier gently stroked Anne's hair with his hands.

He understood Anne's fear, but never wanted HER to feel it too.

He wished he had the power to take her fear away...BUT there were some things even magic couldn't do fix.

But he didn't need to be a powerful witch to give the girl he loved the comfort that she needed.

So he continued to hold Anne in his arms, not unlike how his mother used to hold him when he was scared.

Before long...he felt Anne grow still, breathing softly.

He looked and saw that she had fallen back to sleep in his arms.

Olivier considered trying to let her down gently, and return to his bed in the other room.

But he decided against it, and instead relaxed himself as he continued to hold his sleeping girlfriend.

Anne was sleeping soundly now, her mind seemingly at peace.

Olivier too felt more at ease with Anne in his protective embrace.

He finally shut his eyes...and allowed himself to sleep once again.

For the rest of the night, nether of the two were haunted by any Nightmares.
