Anne Boonchuy and Olivier Clawthorne stepped through the magical door.
There was a blinding flash, which quickly subsided. Revealing a forest.
Though it was quite a bizarre forest unlike anything Anne had ever seen before.
Olivier, however...felt right at home. Literally.
"Is this-?"
"yeah." spoke Olivier. "These are the woods of the Boiling Isles.
Well...not technically, since this is a dream version of them, but they look the same."
"cool. It's almost like a real life fairy tale." said Anne, examining her surroundings.
"I...I think I recognize some of these woods." spoke Olivier.
"they looks a little like the place where mom said that she found me."
Anne looked at Olivier. "really?"
"yes. which means, if I am right...that old Olive Tree should be-"
As the two walked, they suddenly froze in place at what they saw next.
Olivier had been right, there WAS an Olive Tree...and a silver haired woman slumped against it.
"m-mom?"
It was indeed Eda Clawthorne.
She was sitting against the old Olive Tree, look at if she were in a trance.
In her lap was a creature that looked like an Owl, only it had a body more similar to a Dog.
Eda was petting it.
Olivier stepped back, unsure what to do.
Anne then took his hand, squeezing it tight as she looked at him.
Olivier then breathed out, and stepped forward.
The Owl Creature growled, and Eda became alarmed. "Who is there?!"
"it's...ME, mother." spoke Olivier, stepping forward.
Eda reacted with indifference. "oh...just another illusion."
Olivier stared back at his mother, stunned. "wa-what?!"
"you aren't real..." spoke Eda. "just a phantom reminding me of how much I miss my son."
"b-but I *am* real, mother." spoke Olivier.
"no, you're not...though I wish you were." said Eda, somberly. "you will go away eventually...they always do."
Olivier began to tear up. "mom...it REALLY is me!"
The Owl Creature jumped from Eda, and approached Olivier
(It was then that Olivier noted a 'red string' tied to it, and his mother.)
"wait...are you the Owl Beast?!"
The Owl Beast looked happy to see Olivier, making friendly noises at him.
THIS got Eda's attention. "strange...he's never done THAT before."
"That's because I'm REAL, mom!" repeated Olivier.
"I've projected my astral form into your subconscious through the Dream Realm."
"He's telling the truth, Miss Clawthorne." said Anne, finally.
NOW, Eda was standing up. Having just noticed Anne with Olivier. "Anne?...Anne Boonchuy?!"
Anne nodded. "Yes, Miss Clawthorne. It's ME. I'm here, too...You remember me, right?"
"yeah, I do...you're my son's girlfriend from that frog world that he-"
Eda then looked at Olivier. For the first time, starting to believe that this wasn't an illusion.
"olivier? (*Eda approaches*) is...is it really you?, are you REALLY here?!"
Olivier approached. he then took his mother's hands, and grasped them tight.
Eda flinched, in shock at feeling something that she hadn't in a long, LONG time.
"it's ME, mom." spoke Olivier, tears in his eyes. "I'm here."
Eda stared, her eyes unblinking...though fresh tears began to flow.
The Witch of the Boiling Isles finally dropped to her knees, and embraced Olivier.
She clenched her teeth and shut her eyes tight as her tears flowed like a waterfall.
Olivier gasped as his mother hugged him really, REALLY tightly.
"you're here...I'm not imagining it this time!" choked Eda. "you came back."
Olivier cried as he hugged his mother back. "i'm sorry...I'm so sorry, mom. I didn't mean to-"
"I know...and, it's OKAY." said Eda.
"You're not...angry with me?" asked Olivier
"oh, you are SO GROUNDED when you get back...but no. I'm not angry." said Eda.
"I was scared...for a long, LONG time. Until I met your girlfriend, and she told me you were okay."
Olivier finally pulled from his mother to look at her. "I tried to get back...I really did.
But some thing happened, and...well NOW I am stranded in the Human Realm, living with Anne's family."
Eda smiled. "Well, that makes things a little easier...but not by much."
"So, Belos still has your portal door?" inquired Olivier.
"unfortunately, yes...and I still don't know what he plans to do with it." said Eda.
"But, if you haven't seen his goon squad, then I guess he isn't planning on invading the Human Realm."
"No..." spoke Anne. "But, we DO have another Evil Tyrant planning on doing just that."
"What?" spoke Eda, stunned and confused.
"You know that Frog World we were in?" spoke Olivier.
"yeah."
"Well, it has it's own monarch ruling it. a Giant Newt king, named Andrias." began Olivier.
"Initially, he seemed like a jolly sort. but it turned out that was all a con and he's really evil."
Eda smirked at this. "no kidding."
"yeah..." said Olivier, scowling. "I feel so stupid for trusting him."
"don't be...Even *I* have fallen for a good con now and then." said Eda.
Olivier smiled, feeling a little better.
"So now he is gearing up to invade my world." continued Anne.
"The only reason he hasn't may be because of a possible rebellion fighting him."
"What a coincidence...Emperor Belos also has a rebellion he is dealing with." said Eda.
"that's good to hear." said Olivier. "More trouble for HIM, the better."
Eda then looked at Anne. "so...Anne. you taking good care of my boy?"
Anne smiled sheepishly. "as best as I can. Like Ollie said: he's living with me, and my parents."
Eda then looked at Olivier. "and, are they treating you right?"
"Couldn't ask for better caretakers. Anne's mom is really nice, and...helps me not miss you as much." said Olivier.
Eda felt relieved to hear this. "good, so Mrs. Boonchuy is nothing like Odalia Blight, then."
"Not even remotely." said Olivier. "Anne's parents even gave me their whole basement for me to live in."
Eda smiled. "so you ARE safe." Eda then hugged Anne. "thank you for all you have done for my kid."
Anne smiled, happy that her boyfriend's mother still liked her.
she then hugged back Eda much like she would her own mother. "I'd do anything for Oliver...I love him."
Eda shed a tear, but wiped it away. "I guess some good DID come from off of this."
Olivier breathed out softly. "yeah...it did."
"There is so much more I want to tell you..." spoke Eda, again.
"Well, make it quick." said Olivier. "Me and Anne can't stay in your dream for very long."
"oh...okay. Well, for starters I finally gained some control over my curse."
"Really?, THAT'S GREAT!" exclaimed Olivier. "How did you-"
"I guess you could say that I 'faced my fears', and worked things out with the Owl Beast." explained Eda.
"Turns out, he was also cursed a long time ago and doesn't like this anymore than I did."
Olivier looked down at the Owl Beast. "at this size, he isn't so scary...not that I was ever scared."
"I also learned a new trick.." said Eda. "wanna see?"
"Sure."
Eda then stood up, and picked the Owl Beast up. The two then glowed white,
and appeared to merge (not unlike when Anne and Olivier fused into Olivanne.)
When the light subsided, Eda now had a bird-like appearance. but was still 'humanoid'
She had giant wings, taloned hands and feet and black eyes with gold irises.
"oh...my." spoke Olivier, stunned at what he was seeing.
"THAT IS SO BADASS!" exclaimed Anne, amazed.
"I know, right? Luz calls it a "Harpy." said Eda, smiling proudly. "All I know, is that I am totally rockin' this look."
Olivier then approached, still staring at his mother's new form.
Eda now towered over him, so the "Harpy Lady" knelt down so they could look at each other.
Olivier gently touched his mother's face, gazing into her now dark eyes.
Eda then touched Olivier's face, her finger talons gently grazing over his cheek.
To anyone else, Eda would still appear scary. Almost like a She-Demon...But Olivier still didn't fear her.
Whatever form she took, she was still the same woman who held him in her arms whenever he was scared.
She was still, and always would be...his mother.
Olivier finally put his arms around his mother...to which she embraced him,
even wrapping her massive, almost angel-like wings around him as well.
Anne covered her mouth, nearly tearing up at this tender scene.
"hey." spoke Eda, to Anne.
"huh?"
"get in her, kiddo...there's room for one more." said Eda.
Anne looked reluctant. "I'm not sure if I shoul-"
"You love my son, right?" spoke Eda.
"Of course." said Anne, without a second thought.
"then let me hug both my son, AND my possible future daughter-in-law." said Eda.
Both Anne, and Olivier blushed beet red at this...but Anne relented, and approached.
Eda pulled the Thai girl into her embrace, her arms and wings wrapped around both teenagers.
Anne smiled, feeling like she really was part of this magical family.
After awhile, Eda finally released the two (who were blushing wildly as awkwardness set in.)
"Oh-Olivier can transform, too!" spoke Anne, quickly.
"Really?" said Eda, curious.
"It's not much..." said Olivier, still blushing.
"but, I was able to learn how to overcharge my magic, and change into a 'powered-up' form.
It makes me stronger, but it also drains my magic faster...so I can't stay in it for very long."
"I am sure just changing for a second won't do any harm." said Anne.
Olivier thought for a moment. "yeah...I guess not."
"Olivier, you don't have to-"
Olivier then balled up his fists, and a surge of golden energy flared from his body.
Eda stepped back, feeling a tremendous rise of magic as Olivier changed right in front of her.
Olivier's body was now glowing golden-yellow, both his eyes also bright gold.
His once Auburn hair was now snow white, and felt powerful enough to wipe out a whole army Coven Soldiers.
"by the titan..." spoke Eda, actually intimidated by her own son.
Olivier quickly powered down returning to his normal state.
"Again, not as impressive as your new form. But it's something new I can do."
Eda was speechless.
"Anne can also do it with her own magic, too." continued Olivier.
"Anne?" spoke Eda, finally. "wait...I thought your girlfriend was human, like Luz."
"I am..." explained Anne. "but I got these powers from one of these magic gems
that powered the music box that sent me and my friends to Amphibia."
"Is this the same box that made my son disappear?" asked Eda.
"Kind of." spoke Olivier. "I learned later on that the music box that I got from that shifty merchant
was actually a replica of the original, and was faulty due to it degrading after being used one time."
Eda blinked her eyes, puzzled.
"yeah, sounds kooky to me too." added Olivier.
Eda knelt down, and inspected Anne.
"I do sense some kind of foreign magic within you." spoke Eda. "It's nothing like what is in the Demon Realm."
"Oliver is helping me to control it better." explained Anne. "He's teaching both me, and a little frog girl how to do magic."
Eda reacted to this with elation. "YES!, the Bad Girl/Boy Coven gains TWO new members!"
Eda then ruffled Olivier's hair playfully. "I always said you were smarter
than those so-called teachers at Hexside. I am SO PROUD of you, son."
Olivier blushed bright red. "th-thank you, mom. And, before I forget..."
Eda looked at Olivier took Anne's hand. "We have one more thing to show you." said Olivier.
"Show me, then."
Anne and Olivier looked at each other...then then began to dance.
Eda wasn't sure where this was going, but watched it anyway.
As Olivier embraced Anne, their bodied then glowed white and appeared to merge.
Once the glow subsided, a new singular person now stood before a very shocked Eda.
They resembled Olivier, only with darker skin and frizzy hair like Anne's
"ah-Olivier?...ANNE!?" exclaimed Eda, her jaw dropped (but not literally.)
"In this form, we call ourselves Olivanne." spoke Olivanne. "We learned it in the Human World. it is called Fusion."
Eda approached, and gently touched Olivanne's face.
She could see her son in their eyes...yet, they were clearly a different person.
"you really have grown powerful...more powerful than even ME."
Eda smiled, a tear in her eye. "I am so proud of you...I can't wait to tell Luz, and King."
Olivanne then separated back into Olivier and Anne.
"How is King?" asked Olivier, curious.
"well...he has gone through some changes that he is dealing with." spoke Eda.
"and, I...I adopted him not too recently, so he is technically your brother now."
Olivier widened his eyes at this. "say what, now?"
"King is your adoptive brother." repeated Eda. "I signed papers, and everything...I hope you are okay with that."
Olivier thought about this for a moment.
"well...he always did feel more like a younger sibling, than a pet."
Olivier looked at his mother again. "yeah...I'm okay with that."
Anne then hugged Olivier. "Cool, dude! you're a Big Brother, now."
"Technically, Olivier is the "little brother." corrected Eda.
"On account that King was already with me on the night I found Olivier as a baby."
"He's still 'smaller' than me, mom." said Olivier, bluntly.
Eda smirked. "That may be...BUT, he's still older than you."
Just then, a ray of light shined. creating a literal TEAR in reality.
Olivier, Anne and Eda all looked to see a humanoid Axolotl wearing a flowing robe appear.
