Emily sat crossing her leg on the floor of her apartment, surrounded by dusty boxes her father had dropped off earlier for her in the day.
Each box contained old stuffs of her mother's life, old pictures and some letters written by hand.
Her hands was shaking slightly as she opened the last box. Inside, under a yellow documents, she found a small journal.
The edges were worn out already but the initials that was written on the front 'M.H.' caught her attention immediately.
"Mom," Emily whispered, tracing the initials.
She opened the journal to the first page, where her mother's neat handwriting was across the paper reading,
"For truths I can't speak aloud."
Opening the pages, Emily's eyes scanned every entry after entry.
"The Greys will never forgive us, and the Hales will use that to their advantage but I had no choice. It was the only way to protect Emily."
Her heart pounded very fast.
