Chapter 42 - Thanks

In this world, status dictated the roles and treatment of individuals. Businessmen, being the employers and the so-called "big bosses," were exempt from menial tasks. Adventurers, with their formidable abilities, were held in high regard by both professionals and common folk alike. Their skills were seen as crucial, and soldiers were loath to cross them. Mercenaries, on the other hand, had a more pragmatic view. They didn't expect adventurers to go out of their way for them but hoped that, in the heat of battle, these adventurers would unleash their professional prowess. Only then could the mercenaries feel a modicum of safety.
