Chapter 2 - Ludimor: The Beginning of Veilkin

I had a dream just like any other kid out there. Not the one a person experience when they sleep. I mean the one a person sees himself becoming in the future. I wanted to be an adventurer to experience the wonders of the world. I never expected that my first adventure could be the one to save people of my village from slavery.

It was part of my readiness for adventures that I kept a diary to write about the significant things that had happened during the day. I wanted the diary to be the foundation of the book they could have written about me. My dream never changed, I wanted to experience those bizarre adventures to the fullest. Even though I did not have the adventures the same way I expected, it was fine with me because that's what it means to dream.

Now listen to my Adventures "1101/06/27. Dear Diary, today like all of my days, I walked around the town listening to all of the elders lying to the young one's" that was my favorite line to start the diary with.

I, KIGU, the first and only son of my family was living in VEILKIN, a village which was at the boarder of Ecade and Laspara. It was the lost village of Ecade which had been hidden for years. I was in love with the lush environment that Veilkin village had, it connected us all to nature, still I hated how rustic the village had been looking everyday for years. We were stuck as an outdated race while the outside world was improving. There was a reason to why we ended up being the lost race hiding from the world.

The story was told that 150 years before my time LUDIMOR, the founder of Veilkin village, set out to look for a place to hide himself and his family as well as friends from the chaotic world. He chose to look for a place inside the forest that was only a habitat for wild animals. He chose to look for a place inside the forest because not so many people could go that deep into it in addition it was rumoured that their was ESSENTIUM, a mineral which had a higher amount of energy than any other, somewhere inside the dark forest which he wanted to use as a source of power for their small village. Explorers had tried to find the mineral but we're afraid to continue going deep into the forest since its trees grew taller and darker as you go into the forest. The explorers chose to go into the forest alone because they did not want to share the loot with someone else if they were to find it.

Ludimor was a FLORAMANCER with the ability [ Sawing ] which allowed him to rapidly grow plants, making them flourish in a short amount of time and they did not worry about food security. His friend was a GEOMANCER, he had an ability [ Stone Wall ] the ability allowed him to create a barrier of stones and minerals around him and it was effective with protecting them against the forest's wild animals. Together they went deep into the two kilometers forest and to the point were they had found the mineral. If he had gone alone like all of the other explorers, he could have backed away after walking just a few meters, due to the eerie sounds that were being produced in the forest, they were all trembling in fear but still carried on since they had each other to rely on.

The mineral's energy could boost ones Enerflux thus increasing the range of the abilities. They constructed a plant barrier around a 200 meters radius to secure the place they had found with the ability [ Plant Wall ] that Ludimor's sister had. They had also increased the length and height of the mountain which was at the boarder to about 250 meters and 20 meters respectively with the ability [ Land Scaping ] that Ludimor's friend had. After spending some months there, Ludimor got new ideas. He decided to sell some of the mineral outside inorder to use that money to develop the village. He brought with him people from outside who also wanted to escape the chaotic world.

One day Ludimor was gone from the face of the earth, It was said that he sacrificed himself inorder to build a barrier that was hard to pass through. His barrier was different from the first barrier, not only that it had a larger radius but also functioned differently that is, it gave access to only a person wearing one of the special rings that he left at the boundary between the forest and village. The trees were interactive that is, they opened a path to the person and after they passed through the path would close again. He used advanced magical technology which he ended up destroying himself in the process. He was the honored hero who sacrificed himself in order to extend the safety that existed in the village. I did not believe that Ludimor was a hero. He probably got tired of staying locked inside such a rusty area and run away. Leaving the people inside to fantasize any way they wanted to.

The people grew in number, so did their shared fear of going into the outside world as they called it. Myths and legends were passed down the generations to scare the younger generations whenever they talk about going outside. There were stories about Vampires, Dark elves, Werewolves among others which were said to exist outside. Apart from the village staying outdated and lacking innovation, the rise in population brought about the scarcity of resources.

The land got small that even with using magic to increase crop production, it was still not enough for everyone. There was a race for the resources. To increase land for growing crops, houses were being built on top of each other and more than three families had to live in each of the houses. Yet the elders claimed that it was better than what was outside. Not the Elders Of Justice but the older generation people of the five clans that were in the village. They were responsible of ensuring that traditions and customs were followed in the village and that include avoiding going to the outside world.

A fake prophecy was made inorder to inspire hope to the younger generations. It talked about the purple Dulcimortis who was going to come to the village by the time the outside world was good to go. They called him the TRANQUILIS of Veilkins. That did not work to everyone, some groups of families moved out of the village to face the outside world for themselves.
