Chapter 15 - Chapter 15

Youthful, sunny, energetic young Tazmi stood against a pink background. Ma Yin, a proud girl with twin ponytails, appeared against a golden backdrop. Leonai, framed by the same golden light, was also present, as were Lubbock, Hill, and the philosophical big brother Braun.

When these characters appeared in front of Jean's eyes, a strong killing intent surged through her. She couldn't help but clench the **West Wind Sword** in her hand.

As the images played, a sonorous and powerful voice resonated in her ears:

"Just like people decay, the empire will one day perish!"

"Even the imperial capital, which has been prosperous for thousands of years, is nothing but a corrupt hell on earth, with ghosts and monsters dressed in human skin running around arrogantly and domineeringly!"

"If the sky is incapable of punishing evil, we will end it in darkness!"

"All of us are professional assassins—Zhan! Crimson pupils!"

The final image froze among all the members, and these lines, along with the familiar backgrounds, flooded Jean's mind.

Captain Jean couldn't help but think back to Mond's legendary history.

Mondstadt was not always the free city it is today. According to rumors, it was once under the brutal rule of the Lonely King of the Tower.

In the end, a four-person team consisting of an elf, a boy, a red-haired knight, and a hunter girl overthrew the Lonely King of the Tower and established the earliest Mondstadt.

This elf became the wind god **Barbatos**. Because he symbolized freedom, he did not control Mond like other gods, and Mondstadt entered the period of aristocratic rule.

The **Lawrence family** became the most influential noble family, but their tyranny was resisted by the people.

Later, under **Vanessa's** struggle, Mondstadt overthrew the old nobles and established the **Zephyr Knights** to manage the city.

Old Empire, tyranny, and the stories of the nobles have since become a part of Mondstadt's history.

Today, the Lawrence family is still unwelcome in Mondstadt.

However, there is one strange descendant of the Lawrence family: **Yula**, the Spray Rider.

In Mondstadt, Yula has been working hard to make up for the bad reputation of the Lawrence family. She has a very good relationship with Amber and is known to be a bit of a duplicitous girl.

But when Jean saw the PV (promotional video) of the so-called new anime playing before her, she subconsciously remembered the old days of Mondstadt.

She couldn't help but look at Takumi with suspicion.

On the other side, after Amber finished watching the PV, she suddenly felt a surge of excitement and enthusiasm in her heart.

"Right! That's right!" Amber exclaimed. As a girl who had just come into contact with anime, she was highly interested in this kind of passionate, action-packed story, especially when all the members of **Night Raid** appeared in the PV.

Representing darkness, these characters cut through even darker stories, which drew Amber's attention.

"Wow! Looks great! It's so good! When will this anime be released?" Amber asked eagerly.

Takumi couldn't help but smile at Amber's enthusiasm. The PV had captured her interest within a minute.

"Just a few days," Takumi replied. "Although I've extracted the content for the first twelve episodes, if I release this work now, there might be a problem."

Takumi paused. "If I show you all twelve episodes and your favorite character gets cut in half or headshot, the adventurers outside my store might surround it. People might even block the entrance to the Deer Hunter."

"That's why I'm waiting until the first phase of the task is completed. Showing anime in another world is indeed an exciting experience."

---

And what's even stranger was Jean's next question.

She shifted her gaze towards Takumi and asked, "Boss Takumi, do you have a bad impression of Mondstadt?"

Hearing this, Takumi felt a chill run down his back. Something was wrong. Wait, did he understand something now?

The most critical part of the story in the anime seemed to be the overthrow of the old empire, and Jean must have noticed the connection to Mondstadt's past.

In Old Mondstadt, under the control of the old aristocrats, the people suffered greatly. It was **Vanessa** who led the **Zephyr Knights** to overthrow the old regime.

So, did Jean think that this anime plot was based on Mondstadt's past?

What was going on here?

How could it be? It didn't make sense!

Moreover, Jean, as the acting head of the **Zephyr Knights**, should have been the last person to feel uncomfortable watching this PV.

Wasn't she supposed to think of the **Lawrence family**, or maybe **Yula**, who once spent 15,000 Mora for a single sneeze and dance?

Jean was a Zephyr Knight—what was all this about?

---

"Captain Jean, you're thinking too much. This is just a simple story..." Takumi said with a sneer, waving his hands.

Jean, however, carefully observed the PV of **Zhanmei**. No matter how she looked at it, something about it felt off.

But now wasn't the time to think too deeply about these things.

She had come here to investigate what was wrong with this store, so what was she doing now? Fishing?

---

"Then, let me watch an episode of *Naruto* like Amber did," Jean said.

"I want to watch it too! Boss, has *Hokage* been updated yet?" Amber asked excitedly.

Takumi shook his head. "Of the more than 600 episodes of *Naruto*, I only have the first seven."

"You want to watch a show? Then you'll have to catch up first!" Takumi added with a grin.
