"Okay, listen, I don't think this can work." Usopp pointed out with a dismissive wave of his hand, "But they're offering to join! Of course it'll work!" Luffy insisted crossing his arm with a clear frown on his face.
With that the rest of the crew, minus Chopper facepalmed, "As much as more fighters would be of help, these two are Souffle and Yamato, their bounties far outclass our owns." Zoro informed having heard of the two with his pirate hunter past, "Damn, you're right..." Souffle noted while Yamato sighed in disappointment.
Luffy however just smirked, "Then they can join when we get higher bounties than them!" He said still keeping that smile, "...That's a good idea actually." Sanji said in agreement with his captain, "It'll take a long time though, they're also much stronger than us." Zoro pointed out.
This actually made Souffle laugh, "I guess pirates from the East Blue would be intimidated from ones that come from the New World!" She between laughs, "If strength's the problem then we could teach you guys some stuff that will help you catch up!" Yamato offered, already an idea on his mind.
"Being taught by pirates of your caliber sounds amazing!" Chopper cheered with stars in his eyes, "It's decided then! For now let me show this!" Souffle started as she punched Luffy square in the jaw sending him rolling over the sand with a pained yelp, "THAT HURT A LOT!!" He lamented in very clear pain.
The sight made the others blank for a moment, "You're rubber! That shouldn't hurt you at all!" Nami pointed out before turning to Souffle for an explanation, "Armament Haki! An invisible armor that will both protect you and allow you to damage any kind of Devil Fruit user!" Souffle explained.
"Any kind? That means someone with a Logia too then!" Usopp exclaimed in realization, "Exactly! But remember this, anyone with a stronger Haki is probably gonna be able to beat you easily, and Armament is only one of three types, there Observation Haki that lets you sense an opponents intention and if you train it enough, lets you see a few seconds in the future." Yamato described the second type of Haki.
Observation really interested Usopp, "To use Armament you need to let your will flow to the part you want to coat, remember flow, not force, if you force it it will be severely weakened, while Observation, you use your will to sense where your opponent is." Yamato exaplained, "Yeah, and also you can coat weapons with Armament." Souffle added to make a point in usefulness.
"Weapons? So that's how Mihawk is so powerful..." Zoro deduced, taking a look at his own swords, "Lastly there's Conquerors Haki, which you need to be born with to use, and will affect the other two as well, but it's main function is making others bend to your will by letting it burst out." Souffle finished the explanation, "So Conquerors is trial and error, got it." Sanji summarized.
At the summary Yamato gave a thumbs up to confirm, "And that's everything you should know... Oh! If you run into CP9 agents, you should try to figure their techniques out, haven't done it ourselves, but they're powerful." Yamato quickly added, "I odn't know if we'll run into them though..." Chopper said sadly before Luffy stepped up to the two pirates.
With a crack of his knukles he gave one request "How about little spar to figure out how far from you we are?" He suggested, "Oh? Well, if you're offering!" Souffle agreed, taking her wn fighting stance, "Ready when you are, but I'll have to hold back a little since I don't know ski-" She was saying, but got interrupted when Luffy yelled "Gum Gum: Pistol!" And punched her in the face with a heavily rebound fist, which made metallic clank and left a dent in her face.
This made both Luffy and Souffle yell in pain as they held their injured parts, "Wow you hit hard!" Souffle complimented as she fixed the dent, "I thought you had a Logia!" Yamato pointed out in surprise, "They don't all work like that." Souffle excused as Luffy got his grin back, "You know, that's actually more than enough, you're this strong without Haki? Congrats! Seriously! A spar ain't enough, we'll need a real spar when you do learn it!" Souffle said with a smirk.
And with that, the crew said goodbye to the duo as they went to their respective ships, but not before Souffle gave one last beri, "Also remember when you learn Haki that it gets more powerful when you use it! So pick up fights!" She exclaimed before making propellers on her ship and taking off from the shore.
Meanwhile on the Merry, "So what are we waiting for? Lets learn Haki!" Luffy exclaimed, readying his fists.
