Chapter 12 - Brand New World.

Everyone fell through the air, their vision obscured by the fluffy white clouds that floated in the sky.

"NYAAAHHHH!" Kyr screamed as he clung to Fox, gripping onto her sweater.

Vatel stayed silent as he examined his blade.

"Yu... Are you in there?" He asked quietly.

"I'm here!" Yu called from inside the blade, making a wave of relief wash over Vatel. "Thank goodness..."

Mareth leaned back, his arms crossed. "I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but we're about to reach the ground." As he said that, the obscuring view of the clouds disappearing.

All around them were towering mountains, blanketed with sheets of white snow and ice. In the center, a large, lush green landscape with a large city in it. There were no walls surrounding the city, and there was a large river cutting through the center.

"Brace for it!" Sorra yelled, the group bracing for impact in response.

Sorra extended her hand, creating a large, thick layer of dough. It acted as a trampoline when they landed.

"Wow..." Fox squished the dough. "So squishy!"

They landed on one of the flat parts on one of the mountains. The small city wasn't too far from them.

Kyr got off the dough, "Snow!" He plopped down into the snow, which was quite thick but not as cold as he had thought.

Everyone else got off the large dough and began to make their way down the mountain.

It wasn't that steep since they were near the base, but they still had to watch their step.

"Okay guys... So it's safe to assume Earth got destroyed, right?" Mareth asked, fiddling with his halo.

"I guess so, or at least made uninhabitable." Vatel said as they all reached the base of the mountain.

Emopa looked up, watching as a crack sealed itself in the sky, blending back in. It was as if they had come from another dimension.

"This isn't good," Alice said, forming next to Vatel.

Everyone turned to her, a look of confusion on their faces. "What do you mean?" Asked Fox.

"Normally an Apostle shouldn't do what he did. Not unless the relationship he has with the Lord of Blood is way up there. He's what we Sentinels called a Blessed Apostle... A rare kind among other Apostles." Alice said, her black tail swaying from side to side.

"And that girl... she..."

Alice was then cut off by The Father. "An Abomination, right? Chances are that Apostle is already dead."

"Are you serious? Abominations are that strong?" Vatel asked, Alice nodding in response.

"You know... Come to think of it, I never understood how you and Emopa are friends. You guys are supposed to like, actively hate each other." She said, turning back into a wolf.

"What do you mean?" Emopa asked, Alice sighing in response.

"Nevermind. You'll find out one way or another." She said, fading away as they came across the city. It looked like a medieval city, but it seemed pretty neat.

"Looks like they excel in architecture." Mara said, tuning her guitar.

As they walked, the clipping of hooves could be heard; a group of soldiers on horses had come to them. Leading the group was a man with orange hair.

The hair reached to his shoulders and seemed to be in a messy ponytail. He wore a kimono that was black and orange in color, and it seems pretty ironed out. He didn't seem to have much muscle on him.

He had fair skin and orange eyes, and he had a katana sheathed at his side. He hopped off his horse, a brown stallion. He was quite tall, standing at 6'3.

"Who are you? We know all of you fell from that crack in the sky, so tell me, did our God send you?" The man asked, a hand hovering over the black scabbard at his side.

The scabbard itself had intricate yellow and red patterns on it, reminiscent of the sun above them.

"I wouldn't say a God sent us, but... We did come from another world." Sorra said, unsure of how to proceed in this situation.

"Our previous world was destroyed. So, we left in search of a new one." Mareth crossed his arms, staring at the man.

"I hate how everyone is so tall!" Kyr said, looking away from everyone.

"You're not alone, kid." Ulrich said, nodding in agreement.

"I'm not a kid!" Kyr snapped at him.

After a moment of silence, the man spoke.

"I see. You have my sympathies for your losses." His hand shifted away from the scabbard. "Assuming you have nowhere to go, you may stay here."

"Wait, what's your name?" Static asked as he tipped his hat. "Name's Static. These are my friends, Emopa, Vatel, Mareth, Ulrich, Sorra, and Fox!"

"My name is Mono Dual. I'm a foreigner, but we have peaceful relations with this nation of Talus. We are currently in the mountainous far north." He reached into his pocket, taking out a map and tossing it to Static.

Static opened the map and handled it to Ulrich. "Can't read maps."

Ulrich sighed and took a look at the map, his eyes widening a little. "Well... This world certainly is big."

"What's the name of the city?" Fox asked, peering over Ulrich's shoulder.

"Perono." Mono said, pointing to a small dot that was surrounded by mountains.

"We could start to explore immediately!" Kyr said, seeming excited at the thought.

"Well, this city doesn't really have much; it's mainly just a resting place for travelers that come through the mountains. They have shops, inns, the usual. Talus is a large nation situated in the North East, as you can see." Mono's finger traced alone some smooth and jagged edges of a border.

It indicated the borders between the poles of the world and two bordering nations. One west named Clorisfield, and one southwest named Mockia.

"This is a more in-depth map, as it doesn't display the whole world. It actually shows only around 7%, as it doesn't show the entirety of the other two nations." Mono began to walk back to his horse.

"You want to explore? You can tag along if you'd like. We're heading to Mockia." He then pointed behind him. "You can tag along with the cargo in the back."

"What do you guys think? Wanna tag along with him and go our own path?" Emopa asked, turning to his group.

"Let's go with him, then we'll get on with our little adventures." Sorra said, smiling a little.

"Gotcha," Emopa said, hopping onto the pile of boxes they were using as cargo.

Everyone else began to hop into the carts of the carriages, and the convoy began to move. "So, Mono. You got any siblings or anything?" Fox asked, being the closest to him.

"I do have a twin brother. Though I must say we are not close at all. In fact, I'd say he hates me." Mono said as they left the town and began to ascend a steady slope.

"What? Why's that?" Fox asked, leaning against the fence of the cargo.

"Well, since we're twins, we were expected to come out looking somewhat alike, but he came out having black and white hair."

They began to reach the peak of one of the mountains. It was a small one, but enough to still have blankets of snow.

They could see the horizon as the sun began to set overhead. "The mountains shouldn't be too long. Could take us a few hours." Mono said, sighing.

"Wait, so... What happened with your brother?" Fox asked, curious now.

"He was born with the Lunar Curse." He shifted his position in the horse, revealing a marking similar to the bright orange sun that hung overhead.

It was a small marking. No more than 4 inches. "My nation, The Solar Empire, worships the Sun God Aurevith. The Moon Goddess is seen as an enemy to our nation."

"Is there any nation that worships the Moon Goddess?" Fox asked.

"Our neighboring nation, the Lunar Dynasty. We were once a single nation, but due to strained relations, we split. It also eventually sparked a two-year war before we came to compromise. That's the history I was told." Mono reached into a bag, taking out some bread.

"Hungry?" He asked, Fox shaking her head in response.

"So, how did you two come about?" She asked, Mono's eyes shifting to her before leading out a long sigh.

"We were the result of a forbidden love. From what I've been told, if either of us came out bearing the fabled markings, they would play it off if they could to one side." He rubbed the head of the horse.

"But, when both of us were found out to be twins, it was way too much of a spectacle to keep hidden. One day, they slipped up and both got executed when we were around five."

Fox gasped, "That's terrible!"

"They were planning to execute my brother as well, but they decided it'd be funny to give him the same status as a slave. I had to care for him." Mono said, a look of hurt and sympathy in his eyes.

"The more he saw me, he seemed to just hate me more. Then, one day, the Lunar Dynasty found out. Outraged by the mistreatment of my brother and the fact that he'd been kept hidden... They threatened war."

"That sounds rough." Ulrich said, listening in on the story.

"Yeah, dude, I feel so bad for you." Mara said, leaning against a crate.

"That's sick, and not in a good way." Static crossed his arms, shaking his head.

"I agree!" Kyr said, his tail swaying.

"What happened then?" Emopa asked.

"They sent him over to the Dynasty, where I haven't seen him since then. I've tried to send letters, even with food. I've gotten no response, however." Mono said, chuckling a little.

After a few hours, they reached a city in Mockia called Vertis. It seemed like a major trade hub, as carriages were seeming to come and go with guards usually checking them.

"Alright, well here you guys are. Since you seem like you're more of the adventurous types, there's a guild hall where you can either join or make a guild, or you could fly solo." Mono said, having a side conversation with the guard.

Everyone had gotten off and thanked Mono. "We hope to see you again!" Fox said, a large smile on her face.

He chuckled. "Sure! Stop by my hometown. My home is about a few months journey from here by carriage! Or if you could find a teleportation mage, that could help."

He waved, the convoy heading inside through the castle gates as the rest followed, eventually separating from it.

"Alright! So, what about it? You guys wanna form a guild?" Kyr asked, standing close to Sorra and trying to hop on her back.

She found it quite adorable, so she crouched down to help him out.

"Sure. Let's go." Emopa said, wandering around the busy, cobbled streets of the city.

He used the hanging signs off the wooden poles to make his way to the guild hall, which was pretty deep in the city.

Once they reached, he opened the door, everyone coming inside and looking out of place among the more medieval-styled people.

"Hello! What can I do for you?" A man spoke, having green hair that reached his lower neck.

He wore a brown sweater with a black vest over it; his lower half wasn't visible. He seemed quite tall and had brown skin as well as green eyes.

"Hey, uh, I'd like to make a guild." Emopa said, looking the man up and down.

"Awesome! Are you a registered adventurer?" The man asked, Emopa noticing a name tag on him that was labeled Termin Adam.

"No? Is that required?" he asked.

"Nope! However, to take missions, you do need to be an adventurer, so after I issue you this, you can register to be an adventurer. All of them start at F rank, so don't worry about being seen as weak." Termin said, keeping the smile on his face.

"Awesome. I'll do that then." Emopa said as Termin slid him a clipboard.

"Just sign here, here, and here... Then put the name of your guild."

Emopa signed off on the paper, putting the guild name as The Seraphim's Eyes.

"Great!" Termin said, handing him another clipboard. "Sign off on these, and then you'll be an official adventurer!"

Emopa signed off his full name. Once Termin took it, he seemed a little surprised but immediately masked it, keeping his grin. It actually only got a little wider. "Nice! Welcome to the guild, Emopa."

He tapped a small leather cube next to him, it producing a small card. "This is your hunter's card. It'll increase in rank the more you do missions!"

Emopa took it and smiled. "Thanks." He said, watching everyone else sign up under the guild and become adventurers.

And thus, they are now part of this new world.

A world that would soon know the name of the guild: The Seraphim's Eyes.

"An Abomination and a Kagehara together? This could be interesting." Termin thought to himself as he went to a back room.
