Chapter 3 - Demon King

Asher's magical aura was intense and powerful as well. The intensity of his mana levels shocked both Mr. Roger and Nicole Jardel to the core.

"Alright, I accept your challenge." Asher said to Nicole as he stopped the outburst of mana.

"Fine." Nicole said, a little flustered by what had just happened.

"Alright, Asher Blackwood has accepted Nicole Jardel's challenge to prove his worthiness." Mr. Roger said through the microphone.

The two students took their position in the arena, ready to battle each other. Then the buzzer rang off to begin the fight and at that instant, Asher was seen on the ground, battered and bruised with his clothes torn.

"That's Nicole Jardel for you." One of the students in the crowd said. "Ending the fight in an instant."

Nicole herself didn't know what had happened in that instant but she definitely felt it.

"I died five times already and he kept on bringing me back just to kill me again." She said to herself in fear whilst looking upon Asher who lay on the ground beaten.

"That should do it." Asher said to himself as he lay on the ground with his eyes closed. "I let out too much today. Now they'll think I'm not strong enough and they'll let me live in peace."

The nurses came to take Asher away from the arena to get him treated in the infirmary.

"Nicole Jardel shows us why she is the number one student in the entire Jardel International Academy." Mr. Roger said.

Nicole didn't feel at ease with this victory. She knew that she didn't win the fight and what transpired within that instant.

"No." She said. "Asher Blackwood has proven himself to me, he is worthy enough to participate in the upcoming Tournament as one of the representatives for our Academy."

Her words left the other students in shock, Asher Blackwood couldn't possibly have been able to prove himself.

"He was defeated by her in an instant, so what is she trying to do now?" One of the students asked rhetorically.

"That kid definitely had the aura of an Infinite Mage. But she, who was able to defeat someone with such an aura in a single instant is the dangerous one." Mr. Roger said to himself.

Meanwhile, Asher's magical aura was so powerful that it caused a rupture between the demon world and the human world. The two worlds were separated by a powerful mana membrane but Asher's magical aura shattered it in the moment he was trying to show off.

"Is that what I think it is?" The Demon King asked one of his subordinates, as the crack which lead to the human world was right in front of them.

"Yes my Lord. The mana flowing in now is definitely that from the human world. Their mana was always so rich and dense as well." He replied.

"Scout the land. I'm sure there's no one there to stop us there. The humans were always so fragile and weak." The Demon King said.

"As you wish my Lord." The elder Demon said as he disappeared into thin air, going towards the human world.

The school day was over and Asher was on his way out when he saw Nicole Jardel waiting for him at the front door of his class. Her presence struck awe in the other students present with him in the class as well.

"What do you want?" Asher asked as he walked past her.

"I want to know how you got that strong and why you are still in the Regular class." She said to him. "No, scratch that. How did you manage to fake your mana levels in the entrance exams?"

"Experience." Asher replied as he kept walking away from her.

"That's not an answer. Give me the answer I want!" She said at the top of her voice, making everyone turn to look at them and wonder what she was doing with someone like him.

"I don't have anything to say to you. You can believe whatever you want, I don't care. I just don't want anyone prying in on my life." Asher said to her with a commanding tone as he walked away.

As he walked, he sensed something strange following him. He stretched his hand behind him and caught something that was mixed with the air and brought it to a hidden alleyway.

"Show yourself." Asher said and the elder Demon revealed it's form with shock on it's face that a human was able to sense him, let alone touch him while he was immaterial.

"What are you?" Asher asked and the elder Demon smiled, in that instant, the area around them exploded. Setting six blocks ablaze.

"That should put him in his place." The elder Demon said as he swiped the dirt from his clothing.

"Put who in his place." Asher said which caused the Demon to freeze in shock.

"You- you should be dead." The elder Demon exclaimed.

"Yes, I should be. But I've built up a resistance to physical attacks. None of them work on me." Asher replied the elder Demon.

"Impossible. No human should be able to survive that explosion!." The elder Demon exclaimed.

"I'll ask once. What's your name?" Asher asked the elder Demon.

"Why would I tell my name to someone who's about to die?" The demon retorted as a dark cloud encircled the entire Jardel continent.

"What are you trying to do?" Asher asked the elder Demon.

"I shall destroy you alongside this entire expanse of land." The elder Demon replied.

"That won't work." Asher said.

"What do you mean?" The elder Demon asked and just as he finished speaking, the sky began to clear once again.

"How did you-?" The elder Demon stopped short as Asher punched him so hard that he flew through the sky and out of the planet.

The elder Demon looked around and saw that he was floating about.

"How does it feel?" Asher asked from behind the elder Demon. The elder Demon sent a dark magic attack at Asher which he held in the palm of his hand and crushed it to smithereens.

"What the-?" The elder Demon exclaimed again.

"The planet Mars isn't being used by anyone so…" Asher said as he held the elder Demon by his clothes and flung him towards Mars. The elder Demon flew through the core of Mars, which destroyed the planet completely.

"I'm, I'm still alive." The elder Demon said to himself.

"Well, you'll die now." Asher replied. "Begone." Asher said and snapped his finger and the elder Demon vanished immediately.
