Chapter 27 - Chapter Twenty-Seven (A Night with Daniel)

Her staying over that night was purely by chance, unplanned. She had rushed to Daniel upon hearing of his illness, without even bringing her sleepwear. How would she sleep now? Daniel, understanding her dilemma, asked her to open his wardrobe and take whatever she wanted. She chose his sleepwear, breathing in his scent as she put it on. It looked comically oversized!

Daniel smiled and said:

"You look amazing in my clothes, my love."

Isla replied with a grin: "How can you say that? They're so baggy that even my hands have disappeared inside them."

Despite his illness, Daniel couldn't resist his overwhelming desire to hold her. He approached and embraced her, gently cupping her face to kiss her lips. She surrendered to his embrace and kisses, soaring with him into another world—a world filled with love, purity, and genuine emotions. She became like a blossoming flower, her fragrance spreading to all around her. How could it not, when her lover was nourishing her with the noblest feelings? She fell asleep that night in his arms, pouring her love and tenderness into him, making him forget his pain and illness.

The morning was unlike any other. Isla opened her eyes to the sight of the man who had captured her soul. He was still asleep. Gently, she brushed her hand through his short hair and planted a kiss full of warmth on his forehead. She then quietly slipped out from under the covers, wanting to surprise him with a delicious breakfast.

She entered the kitchen, knowing it needed tidying up. Chaos reigned everywhere, with unorganized dishes scattered about. She decided to rearrange everything to make it look better.

Daniel only woke up when the aroma of coffee filled his senses. Rising from bed, he felt better simply because Isla was with him. His amazement grew when he saw breakfast laid out on the table and the kitchen spotless! He pulled her into a tight hug, thanking her for everything. Overcome with emotion, a tear escaped down his cheek. He had lived alone, yearning for the love Isla so freely gave him—a pure, selfless love with no ulterior motives.

They ate breakfast together and decided to spend the day enjoying each other's company. Only one place came to Isla's mind where she wanted to go. But would he agree? This question lingered in her mind as she pondered whether to ask him.
