"The camp is under attack, and it's in chaos!"
"Chiyo, the enemy has attacked the camp, and everything is in disarray!"
Chiyo strode into the headquarters hall, her expression calm despite the urgency. "From which direction did the enemy attack? How many are there?"
The guard ninja hesitated, clearly baffled. "Uh... it seems they... fell from the sky."
Chiyo froze.
"Fell from the sky? Are you serious?"
Without waiting for an answer, she rushed out of the headquarters. When she emerged, she stopped abruptly, her eyes scanning the chaos.
The camp was in utter disarray. Figures in black roamed the battlefield, attacking Sand ninjas. A chilling detail struck her: the enemies' eyes glowed green, casting an eerie light in the darkness.
"Boom!!!"
A loud explosion shook the ground as one of the black-clad figures was destroyed. Its body emitted a brilliant green flash before detonating violently.
Chiyo's eyes widened in realization.
"These... aren't people. They're puppets!"
The glowing eyes, the self-destruction—they matched the reports from Iwagakure's Huangtu about a strange new form of combat puppets.
More puppets broke from their skirmishes, charging toward buildings and groups of people, detonating as they reached their targets.
A life-threatening form of combat.
"Curse you, Konoha! Curse you, Hyuga Shinki!"
Chiyo trembled with rage as she took in the destruction: craters from explosions, shattered structures, and scattered remains. If she hadn't witnessed it herself, she wouldn't have believed such devastation was possible.
*But how did these puppets appear? Could they really have fallen from the sky?*
It dawned on her. Puppets could be stored in sealing scrolls, and scrolls could be dropped from great heights by flying ninja or summoned creatures. The enemy had weaponized this tactic.
She had been too quick to blame the guards.
But there was no time to dwell on that.
"Listen up!" Chiyo shouted. "The enemies we're facing are puppets. These puppets are unafraid of death and explode after destruction. All puppet ninjas, deploy your puppets to block their advance!"
Her ability to adapt was impressive. In moments, she devised a countermeasure: using their own puppets to mitigate the enemy's.
Yet this strategy had a glaring flaw.
Shinki's puppets were designed to self-destruct, indiscriminately targeting anything nearby—be it ninja, structures, or enemy puppets.
For Shinki, this was a cost-effective tactic. His puppets were disposable and cheap to replace. For Sand ninjas, their carefully crafted puppets were invaluable and irreplaceable.
The battlefield became a grim spectacle. Sand's puppet masters watched in dismay as their creations were destroyed by these unfamiliar, kamikaze puppets.
"These are puppets? Where are the chakra threads? Who is controlling them?!"
There were no visible threads, and the puppets operated autonomously. To the puppet masters, it was as if everything they had ever known about puppetry was being mocked.
---
Through the vision of his remaining puppets, Shinki observed Chiyo in the midst of the chaos, issuing commands to stabilize the situation.
*Stabilize the situation? Let's see you try.*
He directed the remaining puppets to scatter across the camp, each one charging toward buildings, tents, or groups of people before detonating.
"Boom!"
"Boom!!!"
The continuous explosions engulfed the camp, spreading fire and destruction. Screams and cries for help filled the night as chaos reached its peak.
Chiyo's worst fears had come true.
If the enemy had focused their puppets on chasing Sand ninjas, she could have managed the situation by rallying her forces. But the autonomous puppets, indiscriminately spreading destruction, made stabilization impossible.
---
In the distance, Sand's front-line ninja noticed the fire and explosions coming from their rear camp. Confusion and panic spread among them.
"Is the camp under attack? How could the enemy have gotten past us?"
The disruption spread like wildfire, shaking the confidence of Sand's forces.
---
Back in Konoha's camp, Shinki opened his eyes, his part of the mission complete. He turned to Orochimaru, who waited nearby.
"My mission is done. It's your turn now."
Orochimaru grinned, exuding confidence. "You won't be disappointed."
The Sand camp lay in ruins, the assault leaving countless casualties. With the rear in shambles, communication between the camp and the front line was impossible. The Sand ninjas at the front, concerned about their camp's condition, were left in disarray.
It was the perfect moment to strike.
"Launch the attack flare!" Orochimaru ordered.
"Yes, Lord Orochimaru!"
The flare lit up the sky, signaling the start of the assault.
Across the battlefield, Konoha's ninja teams, long prepared, launched a coordinated attack. As they charged, their rallying cries rang out:
"The Sand Village camp has been attacked!"
This simple shout was enough to sow further doubt and panic among the Sand forces.
Sand's ninjas, already shaken by the situation at their camp, faltered. The cries only confirmed what they feared—their rear had been compromised.
---
Back at the camp, Chiyo struggled to maintain order. Despite her best efforts, the continuous explosions and disarray left her with no chance to recover the situation.
Shinki had unleashed 300 self-destructing puppets, a bold and devastating move that taught Sand Village a harsh lesson.
It wasn't just a blow to Sand—it was a message to the entire ninja world.
*This is how war can be fought.*
