Aditi looked at him, his expression so earnest and vulnerable that it melted a tiny part of her reserve. She saw the remorse and sincerity in his eyes, and despite her doubts, she couldn't deny the small flicker of hope that was growing within her.
"You don't deserve it," she whispered, her voice shaking a bit. "But I'll give you a chance. One chance. But the minute you break my trust again, it's over."
Raghav's expression turned regretful. "I don't have a time machine to go back and undo my mistakes," he said, his voice gentle. "If I could, I would. All I can do is apologize, accept responsibility, and promise you that I will never betray or hurt you again. I value you too much to lose you a second time."
Aditi studied his face, searching for any hint of dishonesty. But all she saw was remorse, sincerity, and a glimmer of earnestness. Her heart yearned to believe in his words, to give him another chance, but her mind was still guarded.
"I want to trust you," she said quietly, a hint of hesitation in her voice. "But I'm afraid. I'm afraid of getting hurt again."
Raghav nodded, understanding the fear and uncertainty in her voice. He reached across the table and gently took her hand, his touch warm and reassuring.
"I know," he said softly. "And I can't blame you. I caused all this pain, and it's understandable that you're hesitant to trust me again. But I'm here to prove I'm serious about change. I'll do everything in my power to show you I'm worthy of your trust."
Aditi looked down at their hands, the warmth of his touch sending shivers down her spine. Her heart fluttered as she felt her resolve softening just a bit, her defenses faltering under the weight of his words and the sincerity in his eyes.
"What about us?" she whispered, her voice barely above a murmur. "If I give you another chance, where do we go from here?"
