According to ancient teachings, in the beginning, creatures roamed the land. Fierce, terrifying beasts that had not an ounce of emotion or reasoning. The law in those times was to kill or be killed. It was such a brutal era that even the gods and goddesses could not ignore the mayhem that was spreading on the world below.
The gods sought to destroy these horrid beasts but the goddess Selene having so much adoration towards the beasts despite their frightening nature proposed a solution. Instead of killing those beasts, she used her divine essence to mound a different creature, almost like a miniature version of the gods, a creature with both intellect and emotion and strength to subdue the beasts. She then joined these two creations to become one ;fully man , fully beast, she called them Shifters. But neither side was willing to bow to the other and despite the control man had over the beast the beast was not easy to tame.
Thus to prevent the creature from self destruction Selene in her divine wisdom split the souls apart making them part man and part beast and created another creature of the same kind with the other half of the soul. Therefore each creature would have its own companion, it's own mate. They were to care for each other , love and protect as they were one.
So that was how it was from generation to generation each shifter finding their mate and having their happily ever after. But as time went on Selene grew weary and the divine power that made the creatures find their destined one Aldo gradually faded away until it became almost impossible to find the one meant for you. The concept of mates seemed to be lost and only a thing of the past. The fates seeing the destruction that would befall the world if the mate bond wasn't revived issued a prophecy:
In the time when shadows dance with light,
And the stars weave patterns in the velvet night,
There shall come a gathering of hearts entwined,
A union of souls—two paths aligned.
From distant lands, they will travel wide,
To seek the bond that fate shall not hide.
Through trials and laughter, and whispered dreams,
Their journey unfolds, or so it seems.
The first shall bear the fire's glow,
A spirit fierce, with passion to sow.
They'll forge their dreams with hands of steel,
A heart ablaze, a courage real.
The second, a river, gentle and deep,
With wisdom to cherish, and secrets to keep.
They'll nurture the flame, with waters of grace,
In storms of the heart, they'll find their place.
Together they'll navigate the tempest of time,
In harmony's song, they'll find their rhyme.
Through seasons of sorrow, and summers of joy,
They'll build a legacy, neither girl nor boy.
In fields of the endless, where wildflowers grow,
Their laughter will echo, and love will flow.
Two halves of a whole, in rhythm they'll stride,
Facing the world, with hearts open wide.
Yet heed this warning, oh seekers of fate,
The path may be fraught with challenge and weight.
For love, when tested, can falter and bend,
Only through patience can the wound truly mend.
When shadows gather and doubts take their hold,
Remember the stories of love brave and bold.
For in the embrace of a mate's warm light,
You'll find the strength to banish the night.
So journey on forward, with eyes ever bright,
For destiny waits in the depths of twilight.
In the tapestry woven of life's fleeting thread,
The prophecy whispers of love's sacred spread.
In the end, it is love that will guide your way,
A beacon of hope in the darkest of days.
For mates are the anchors in the tempests that rage,
Together they write every chapter and page.
