Chapter 79 Book 2 Panic in the Village
Captain Wei paced the length of the village council hall, his boots thudding against the worn wooden planks. Around him, the village leaders sat in a semicircle, their faces etched with worry. The torches mounted on the walls flickered, casting restless shadows as if mirroring their unease. Outside, the distant howls of wolves echoed through the night, mingling with the whispers of villagers gathered near the entrance.
"The scouts returned hours ago, and their report is dire," Captain Wei said, his voice sharp and urgent. "They have found a large group of Meraks inside the old abandoned mine. Those giant creatures as tall as a man, with claws that can shear through steel is giving me a lot of worry. If the young miss was lost inside the mines, then she is in grave danger. We need to rescue her, and fast."
