Knox walked down the desolate streets, his boots crunching against shattered glass and debris. The city was a husk of its former self-abandoned cars sat idle, the remnants of chaos littering every corner. Fires smoldered in the distance, sending plumes of smoke into the air, their acrid scent mingling with the coppery tang of blood. He tightened his fists, his thoughts a swirling cortex of determination and fury.
The world was broken, but he would fix it. On his terms.
Kaelina's voice cut through his thoughts, as sharp and sarcastic as ever.
"So, you're really serious about this ruling-the-world thing huh?" she said, her tone almost amused. "Alright, boss man, let me pitch you something fitting for a tyrant-in-training: The Aegis Nexus."
As Knox walked, Kaelina's voice painted a vivid picture in his mind.
The Outer Wall: The Laborers
"This is where the grunts go," Kaelina explained. "The people who work tirelessly to keep the machine running. The factories, the farm, the manual labor-it all happens here. They get the basics to survive: shelter, food, water. But nothing more."
Knox frowned. "Sounds like a slave class."
"Call it whatever you want, champ," Kaelina replied breezily. "But someone's gotta do the dirty work. And trust me, they'll fall in line. People cling to survival like cockroaches. Give them a taste of order, and they'll thank you for it."
The Second Wall: The Skilled Class
"Now, the next wall," she continued. "These are you tradesmen, your professionals. Engineers, doctors, educators-you know, the slightly more useful humans. They'll have better housing, better food, better everything. Just enough to make them feel superior to the laborers, but not enough to make them cocky."
Knox nodded slowly, the gears turning in his mind. "Keep them content but still working for more."
"Exactly! You're catching on," Kaelina said, her tone almost proud.
The Third Wall: The Elite
"The third wall," Kaelina said, her voice taking on a more dramatic edge, "is where the upper crust lives. The rich, the influential, the powerful-but only those who play by your rules. They'll have luxurious homes, advanced technology, and access to privileges the other walls can only dream off. But their loyalty is non-negotiable. Step out of line, and..."
Knox smirked. "And they get demoted."
"Or worse," Kaelina said with a sinister chuckle.
The Inner Wall: The Commanders
"And finally, the innermost wall," Kaelina concluded. "Your seven generals. The enforcers of your will. They'll oversee the other walls, ensuring that order is maintained and your vision is carried out. They're your inner circle, Knox. Your most trusted allies-or the closest thing to it."
Knox stopped walking, letting the weight of the plan sink in. He could see it now: a world rebuilt from the ashes, molded into his image. A world where chaos and weakness had no place.
"Why four walls?" he asked, his curiosity piqued.
"Symbolism, my dear tyrant," Kaelina replied. "Four walls make a fortress. A fortress is unbreakable. Plus, it sounds cooler than three or five. You're building more than a society- you're building a legacy."
Knox resumed walking, his boots echoing against the cracked pavement. "What about people who don't fit? The ones who won't work or follow orders?"
"Simple," Kaelina said, her tone icy. "They don't get to exist in your world."
Knox's jaw tightened. "And the ones with power? They won't just roll over."
Kaelina's voice became a low, dangerous whisper. "That's where you come in, Knox. With your powers, you're not just their ruler. You're their god. And gods don't beg for loyalty-they demand it."
He couldn't argue with that. The plan was ruthless, cold, and efficient. It was everything he needed it to be.
As he turned a corner, stepping over a toppled lamppost, Knox glanced up at the smoke-filled sky.
"Aegis Nexus, huh?" he muttered. "Sounds like a hell of a way to start."
Kaelina laughed, her voice ringing in his mind. "Oh, darling, this is more than a start. This is your coronation."
