Chapter Ten.
Everything seemed like fate when another voice came behind Mia.
"And what if she said no?"
The voice belonged to Williams, his step exuding elegance as he walked into the boutique.
Meanwhile, Vivian has been trying to avoid Williams and refuses to pick up his call. But now that he showed up at such a critical moment, she grabbed the chance.
With a contemptuous gaze on her face, she locked hands with Williams and shot Mia a glare. "Instead of trying to protect yourself, Why don't you pay for the gown you wore? At least, your husband can pay even if you don't have the money"
Vivian knew Richard was fake from the start, she had a bad impression of him since the first time she saw him. How could someone lie and claim to be Richard Brown?
Based on Vivian's thoughts, Richard might be fooling Mia by faking his identity and bringing her to the boutique.
Mia was still calm, her hand was gently resting under her chest. She knew Richard could afford anything she wanted at the moment. For a second, Mia wanted to show off and embarrass Vivian in front of the people that surrounded them.
She has gone through a lot in the Guilford household, and since she was aware of her true identity, she is ready to fight back!
"Of course! My husband can buy it! As long as I name it, he will surely get it for me!" Mia retorted defiantly; her tone was firm, and her expression was unshakable.
Vivian was enjoying Mia's boldness; she knew Richard would be exposed soon. "Since you are so sure of your husband, let's see if he can buy it," She muttered with a smirk.
Finally, Richard got his role to play. After watching the whole unscripted drama, Richard knew it would surely be his turn, and then it was!
"How much is the gown?" He called out to the attendant.
A shrewd-looking woman in a black shirt and long T-shirt with a black short jacket moves forward and bows. "The gown is $25,000" she replied.
A loud gasp escaped the crowd; no one expected the gown to be that expensive. Even Vivian would think twice before buying such a gown, if at all, she has that kind of money.
Richard smirked after noticing Vivian's expression; he could read her thoughts at that moment. He reached out to his pocket and realized that his credit card was not in his pocket!
"What the fuck!" He cursed through gritted teeth as he searched his pants repeatedly.
Mia noticed Richard's uncomfortable situation; she furrowed her brows and whispered to his ears. "What happened?"
"I left my credit card inside the car" He replied.
However, Vivian heard the last part clearly and she burst into laughter. "You have a car? Are you trying to give another lie to cover yourself when you don't have the money to pay?" She mouthed with a grin, her contemptuous eyes bored into Mia, ready to tear her apart.
"You don't have to get yourself worked up because of that! If my husband said he has a car, then let it be." Mia stood up for Richard once again.
However, the most painful thing Richard felt at that moment was disappointing Mia's boldness. It was true he had left his credit card inside the car, but Kendrick had come to pick up the car after he ended the call earlier.
Richard thought they would do a lot of shopping, and when they were done, another car would be ready.
When Vivian noticed everything, her laughter filled the car. "It seems the husband doesn't have any money!" She left Williams's side and moved a bit closer to Mia. "Yo sis! This man is a fraudster and he can never take care of you! He is just lying about everything, he has no Money!"
Even though she felt disappointed, Mia was determined not to be ridiculed by anyone, especially someone annoying like Vivian. "I don't care about that, Vivian! At least, I'm much better than a gold digger like you who took her sister's boyfriend, " Mia said in the last part with a low expression that seemed to hurt Richard a little.
It seems to him that Mia still harbors feelings for Williams at that point.
"And my girlfriend is better than you, who had slept with another man on her birthday night," Williams mocked Mia with his words; he wrapped his hand around Vivian's neck and pulled her close.
People who had been watching the whole scenario felt disappointed, especially about Richard. He looked so handsome and breathtaking when he came in earlier, but now he was only pretending to be rich.
Also, Mia, who stood by him, turns out to be a slut that slept with men even on her birthday night.
"Such a disgraceful couple"
"I hate the girl already"
"She is nothing but a slut!"
A different comment follows as the people shoot Mia's disdainful glare. Apart from the fact that Williams said Mia slept with men, the fact that Mia got the chance to be with Richard gives some women a headache. No one could resist Richard's charm even if he was a liar.
Vivian felt a sense of accomplishment, everything is now working for her comfort. "Hey, Mia! Why don't you take off your gown and let someone else buy it since you can't afford it?" Vivian said, a sly smile playing on her lips as she stared at Mia with disdain.
Richard, who has remained quiet all this while, finally steps in. His expression became cold, and his eyes darkened; he could never allow that.
"I will never allow that!" Richard mouthed firmly. He grabs Mia's hand and draws her close; his expression shows no room for argument.
Williams chuckles and glances at Richard. "And what right do you have? You can't allow it? Since you refuse to pay, then let her take it off. My fiancee is waiting!" Williams raises his voice while saying the last part.
Mia's heart tilted in pain; she watched Williams's expression and felt depressed. Who could have thought Williams would do this to her? Viv
ian? His fiancee?
At that critical moment, a rescuer came.
"Young Master!"
