Nindy shuffled groggily to her apartment door, rubbing her eyes as the sharp chime of her doorbell echoed again. She wasn't expecting anyone this early, and she certainly wasn't ready for company in her oversized hoodie and messy bun. Swinging the door open, she froze.
"Sean?" she blinked in disbelief, staring at him holding two paper bags in one hand and a cup holder with coffee in the other.
"Good morning," Sean said softly, his usual confident demeanor replaced by something… apologetic. "Can I come in?"
Nindy hesitated, the events of last night still fresh in her mind. But something about the vulnerability in his expression made her step aside. "Uh, sure. Come in."
Sean set the bags on her small dining table and glanced around her cozy space. "I brought breakfast. Figured I owe you for last night… and, honestly, for being so self-centered."
