Chapter 13 - The Deceptive Cure

'This bitch , I will make sure her to pay for this humiliation '

"What a shitty feeling" kael muttered to himself.

As Celestara stood there, watching Kael with an amused smirk, she muttered

"So she really does have a child…"

She reached into her elegant silver necklace, pulling out a small vial filled with a shimmering, dark green liquid.

With a flick of her wrist, she tossed it to Kael, who caught it instinctively.

"Drink that, and I am sorry" she said, her tone both commanding and oddly caring.

Kael looked at the vial with a hint of surprise.

'How… generous of her,' he thought sarcastically, holding back the urge to comment aloud.

But a quick slip escaped his lips.

"Fucking… bitch." His voice was barely above a whisper, but sharp enough to make

Celestara raise an eyebrow.

"What was that?" she asked, a glint of danger in her purple eyes.

Kael stiffened.

"Uh—nothing!" He choked down the potion, feeling warmth spread through his body as his wounds started to heal, skin knitting back together, and the soreness easing.

Grateful for the potion's quick effect, he checked his status through the system:

He still had a ways to go.

"Right… I should get back in the pool," he mumbled, mostly to himself. But then, with a flash of impulsiveness, he glanced at Celestara.

"You, uh… want to join in?" The words tumbled out before he could catch himself.

Celestara's eyes sparkled with mischief, and she laughed, her voice rich and slightly mocking.

"Oh my, what a forward young man," she purred.

"Asking me to join you in the pool, hmm?" She leaned a bit closer, her gaze intense.

"Do you know I'm married?"

'bitch how can she act like this after beating me'

"N-No, I didn't mean—uh, not like that!"

Changing the topic as quickly as kael could, he noticed something unusual on the back of her left hand.

"Uh, what's that mark?" he asked, pointing to a faint, blue sigil.

Celestara looked down at it, her brows furrowing slightly.

"This?" she replied, studying it with a slight frown.

"It appeared a few days ago. I don't know what it is… but it seems to grow slightly by the day."

As her voice trailed off, Kael nodded, still processing everything that had happened.

Deciding he'd had enough conversation for now, he slipped into the water, wearing only his underclothes, trying to ignore the fact that he was under the amused gaze of a powerful vampire queen.

As the cool water surrounded him, he focused on his goal—absorbing as much of the Astral Water as he could.

Celestara tilted her head, her expression a blend of skepticism and faint curiosity.

"Kael, you said you can cure my husband's… illness," she said, her voice edged with a dangerous undertone.

"Explain yourself."

Kael met her intense gaze, keeping his voice calm despite the nervous energy crackling inside him.

"It's not an illness; it's a curse," he replied firmly, his tone unshaken. "As expected, you know nothing about it."

Celestara's eyes flashed, a trace of annoyance flickering across her otherwise composed face.

"A curse? I've had it tested myself, Kael," she retorted, crossing her arms as her posture grew even more commanding.

"We used the Arcanis Mirror—one of the rarest devices that can detect curses from any realm. And it confirmed it's no curse."

"Then the Arcanis Mirror is wrong," Kael shot back, sounding more confident than he felt.

Celestara's brows arched in disbelief, though a hint of intrigue lingered in her gaze.

"Very well, let's assume it's a curse. How do you plan to undo a curse something that another person has placed?"

Kael took a breath, beginning his explanation.

"There's… a way," he began, weaving his words carefully.

"If you can find the origin of the curse, you can reverse it by… by calling upon the essence of the original caster and aligning it with… um, the afflicted's life force. That way, the opposing energies cancel out, and the curse… dissipates."

He went on, spinning an elaborate tale of mystical energies, relics, and arcane invocations.

The more he spoke, the more he knew Celestara wasn't buying a word of it.

Yet he persisted, allowing the fiction to grow more fantastical, knowing full well his explanation was Absolute nonsense.

Celestara remained silent, her face a mask of unreadable calm.

She studied him intently, one eyebrow raised, as if she were weighing each word he said with practiced skepticism.
