Chapter 17 - Unveiling Eternity

Arin's revelation sent a shiver down Jax's spine, settling heavily in his gut like a dark premonition. He leaned forward, his voice low. "Eternity? What does that even mean?". Jax asked with many thought across his mind

Arin's eyes glinted with both excitement and apprehension. "I'm not entirely sure, Captain," he admitted, flicking through lines of encrypted data on his handheld device. "But from what I've managed to decrypt, Eternity is a top-secret project, something infinite. It makes Aurora look like child's play." He paused, and his voice grew quieter. "Aurora was a weapon, a tool of unimaginable power… but Eternity? It's something else entirely."

Jax's gaze shifted to Zara, who stood with her arms crossed tightly over her chest, her eyes narrowed. She was never one to shy away from a fight, but there was a glint of something unfamiliar in her eyes—fear. "Whatever this project is, it's too dangerous to ignore," she said, her voice like steel. "We need to know more. Arin, I want you to dig up everything you can".

Arin nodded, fingers flying over his device as he plunged back into his research, his screen flickering with schematics, code, and fragments of data pulled from the galaxy's most classified databases. Each new file seemed to deepen the mystery, hinting at a web of conspiracies that stretched far beyond Aurora's creation.

Jax placed a firm hand on Grimjack's shoulder, the towering enforcer who had been silently observing the exchange. "Grim, I need you to prep the Marauder's Revenge. We don't know what we're up against, but I want us ready for anything."

Grimjack's expression remained unreadable, his voice a steady rumble. "Already on it, Captain. We'll be armed to the teeth and prepped to launch within the hour."

The silence that filled the room felt heavy, almost suffocating. Jax could sense the apprehension hanging over his crew, the weight of the unknown pressing down on all of them. Eternity was more than a name or a code—it was a Pandora's box, and he feared what would happen if they opened it. He cast one last look at Arin's screen, watching as the young man face shifted from focused determination to barely disguised fear.

Whatever this project was, it had the power to change everything. And Jax knew that once they uncovered its secrets, there would be no turning back.
