Chapter 8 - Rogue God

"Agh. Stop nagging at me, woman!" Yelled Zeus as he cleaned his ears in an annoyed manner.

"Maybe I'd stop nagging if you'd maintain the dignity of a king and husband instead of dropping your pants at any mortal human!" Screamed Hera back as she threw a cup at her husband's face.

Zeus didn't even bother to avoid the cup as it shattered against his godly face.

"It is my duty as the King of Gods to grace the mortals with my godly seed."

"And it is my duty as your wife and as the goddess of marriage to make sure your genitals stay in your pants!"

Zeus scoffed at Hera. "I didn't even embrace that many women. What are you complaining so much about?"

Hera sneered.

"Not that many? Let me name a couple for you then. Does Métis ring a bell?"

Zeus let out a cough. "Wifey. We promised to let that go already. I got rid of her for you, don't you remember?"

Hera let out a malicious chuckle. "Really? I remember you being scared out of your mind when a certain prophecy arrived about the son of Métis eventually overthrowing his father. And besides, I know she is still alive in your stomach. But let's give her a pass and move on to the next woman. Do you remember Themis?"

"…"

"I've also heard some rumors about you attempting to court Eurynome only to fail miserably. How did that pepper spray feel on your eyes, hmmm?"

"…"

"It seems one sister wasn't enough as not only did you marry me but you even tried to make love with Demeter? Or did Demeter lie to me about this?"

Zeus started to turn pale. "Demeter is lying wifey! She must've misunderstood my intentions! I swear I'm innocent! Demeter must be being delusional-"

Demeter appeared from behind Zeus with a dark face. She shot a disgusted look at Zeus before whispering something into Hera's ear and left.

Zeus watched Demeter leave with an embarrassed face and a slightly regretful sigh.

The regretful sigh did not escape Hera as she coldly stared at Zeus as if demanding an explanation.

"… I admit that I've courted all these women but that's the last of them I swear-"

"I heard that Mnemosyne just announced the birth of nine children."

"…"

"Oh, and Leto gave birth to twins some time ago too?"

"…"

"Should I start naming the mortal woman you've raped as well?"

Zeus let out a sigh of defeat. "You know I'm doing all this to give birth to a mortal hero who will help us defeat the giants right?"

"Then let me test your children and see if they truly deserve to be the hero who will save Olympus."

"You know that it'll just end with you slaughtering all my children!"

"Then I guess they weren't meant to be heroes after all."

Just as Hera and Zeus were about to argue some more, they both paused and furrowed their brows in confusion and mild interest.

"A new God has emerged," said Zeus with a serious look. "And this one is powerful."

"It seems the god has also created a family… without even asking me for a blessing. How audacious," said Hera in a displeased tone.

Zeus stroked his beard. "Hmm… his power is enough to make me feel somewhat uneasy. Perhaps I should go and recruit him to Olympus."

"Why does this God feel a bit familiar? Have I met him before?" Muttered Hera to herself as she fell into deep contemplation.

Hera and Zeus exchanged glances before agreeing to a temporary truce.

"Let's go find this new god."

"Agreed. But after that, I'm still gonna have to hear your explanation."

Zeus couldn't help but let out another sigh.
