"Still as stubborn as ever, I see," she said, her eyes fixed on a point just over Vell's shoulder where no one stood. "And still bound to him, even after everything."
The girls looked between them, confusion clear on their faces. Ruby's hand drifted to her daggers, while Wren shifted closer to her master's side.
