Synopsis

Prologue

We were once an ordinary peaceful village. One day a person in a pitch dark cloak, carrying a staff, walks to the center fountain and slams their staff to the ground.

*Crackle* Clouds in the sky quickly darkened. *Boom*Lightning strikes from the clouds' inside. *Clap* One bolt of lightning bigger than the rest strikes the center fountain. Wrrm, wrrm. The fountain was now rubble, and a dark portal stood in its place.

Villagers approach the portal with curiosity and caution. However, they were not cautious enough. Staring into the portals' never-ending darkness, but something was staring back. Smart villagers got the hint to leave while panicking. Other villagers huddle together still staring into the portal.

Stomp, stomp, thump, thump. Creatures came running out of the portal. Monsters like goblins, wolves standing on two legs, and even unicorns.

Just as the villagers stood around like prey,SLASH. The wolves striked like the predators they are. Rip, rip. Tearing into the citizens like a Thanksgiving course.

Woosh. Goblins ran around looting the dead corpses. Bang, Bam. Ogres are killing villagers, while also killing each other. Ram. Unicorns ran their giant buff horns through humans and creatures unbiased.

Yellow eyes began to glow from inside the portal. Gggrrrooooowwwwlll. A loud roar echoed around the town. Fwoosh. Suddenly a large burst of flames torches out the portal. Once the fire ends, a giant dragon steps out the portal.

The light blue dragon towered over all of the citizens and creatures. It stood as tall as a skyscraper, with claws sharper than a kitchen knife, and blue scales all over its body. Rooaawwwrrr. Its roar was the loudest sound of all the creatures. As the dragon roared, its wings stretched as wide as they could. Each wing was as long as an airplane, and as wide as a house. The wings connect to a body that was built like a giant ox , and its neck was as long as a giraffe's. The head was shaped like an alligator with a shark's fin on top. The dragon's dark yellow eyes glared down amongst everyone.

It was a truly surprising turn of events. Once the dragon stepped out, it looked down upon the humans and creatures beneath it. The dragon proceeded to attack only the creature. Eating anything it could get its claws on.

The villagers were grateful to the Dragon for saving them. They offered the dragon animals and crops from the farm. The dragon did not accept the offers, but instead flew behind the village making the area a nest.

The dragon made the village its home for a short while. Creatures continue to respond from the portal, and the dragon would feed on these creatures. The village was lucky to have such a relationship with the dragon. However this luck would not last long.

That day is now known as The Arrival. Thanks to all the confusion and chaos of that day, The village was renamed Discord. No one knows what happened to the cloak figure. It was gone before the creatures could appear out the portal. Until it showed up again.

One day the cloak figured reappeared at Discord. No one saw anything that could reveal a tiny bit of information about it. It wasn't here to open another portal. The cloak figure engaged in a fierce battle with the dragon.

Bang, Bam, Skadoosh. The clash created earthquakes, craters, tsunami's, and panic amongst the people. No one knew anything about the cloak figure, but they witnessed it slay their beloved dragon. Discord was brought upon the village once again.

Monsters kept appearing out of the portal, and people continued dying. There were villagers who refused to sit weak and wait for extinction. The blacksmiths of Discord forged weapons out of the deceased dragons body parts.

"There were several powerful weapons. The claws became brass knuckles, a shield out of the scales, and a sword from the fangs. Only a few could wield them. The small amount that did, had to face the cloak figure. Sad to say, none of them survived the encounter. The last one chosen was over a century ago. That is about to change." A man with a gray goatee, white robe, and gold staff pointed to a crystal orb sitting on a white pillow. Taking a closer look into the blue crystal orb would portray an image of one of our heroes for this tale. Our journey begins with the orientation for Sleighfew's new students.
