Chapter 3 - Ch 3: Special Ability and Mission

The voice had already told her that even the bad pulls in the special ability section would be quite strong, so Mori was not worried about it that much. Having a decent special ability would definitely be better but even if her special ability was weak, she would not mind that. The only thing she did not want is a weird special ability which could inconvenience her. With these thoughts in her mind, she pressed the pull button again.

The same thing happened again and the names of many special abilities appeared and disappeared on the screen. After some time, the name of only one ability was left on the screen. And that ability was called "Seven Forbidden Grimoires".

This ability sounded like the name of an item and it was basically also an item which could be accessed using this ability. The information about this ability appeared in Mori's mind and she understood how this ability of hers worked.

There were extremely powerful and dangerous forbidden grimoires in this world. Those grimoires were so dangerous that the world itself had sealed them. The only way to get a grimoire out of its seal was an ability called forbidden grimoires. And that was exactly the ability that Mori got. There were many forbidden grimoires and Mori would get seven of them for her use.

If these grimoires were dangerous enough for the world itself to seal them, then they were definitely powerful. And grimoires sounded like something that would be compatible with a witch. So she was sure that this ability was a good match for her. Then she checked out the names of the seven grimoires.

There were way more than seven forbidden grimoires present in this world and each one of them had knowledge about a certain system of magic. So Mori was quite excited to know which grimoires she had gotten.

The first grimoire was called "Forbidden Grimoire of Annihilation" which sounded extremely dangerous. And the second one was called "Forbidden Grimoire of Life and Death". The third grimoire was called "Forbidden Grimoire of Summoning". The fourth was about "Alchemy". As for the fifth, it's subject was "Curse". The sixth one was "Space and Time" and finally the last one was about "Indomitability".

All those subjects of the grimoires were all over the place and varied a lot. Mori was quite interested to go through them and see what kind of forbidden knowledge was hidden in it.

But just as she was about to manifest one of the Grimoires to read, the voice sounded again. It congratulated her again and told her that it was time for Mori to know about what Mission she would have in the world she was going to be living from now on.

...

As soon as the voice stopped speaking, texts appeared on the computer screen. Quite a lot was written on it and Mori started to go through them carefully. She needed almost an hour to finish reading it and she was quite surprised by the content.

This whole mission description was more like a contract with all the details clearly mentioned. There were a lot of technical terms and it was actually an almost perfect contract. Mori had seen many contracts in her life working as an employee in her company but most of the contracts were not as detailed as this one.

So basically Mori had one main mission and many side missions in the other world. She needed to complete the main mission within the given time limit or she would be dead again. And this time her soul would not even get the chance to be reborn and would be destroyed completely as punishment.

Mori was not really too worried about that as losing her memories and personality was equivalent to her disappearing, so even if her soul was also gone afterwards, that would not affect Mori who had already disappeared. The side missions were not mandatory and Mori could skip them if she wanted. But doing them would give her some rewards which might come in handy even for her main mission. So she was advised to not neglect them.

So what was her main mission ? The name that Mori's mission had was "Forbidden Mastery". So she needed to master the forbidden grimoires that she got accessed to due to her special ability. To finish the mission, she needed to have a perfect 100 percent mastery of one single Grimoire and all the remaining six grimoires should also be above 50 percent mastered. And Mori had 10 thousand years to do it.

From this, the mission sounded easy. But Mori knew that it was not the case. Mastering the forbidden grimoires was a very hard task. Even extremely talented people would not be able to master even 10 percent of it in hundreds of thousands of years. So mastering so many grimoires to such a high degree in just 10 thousand years was definitely going to be tough.

Mori became a little bit worried but again relaxed afterward. Even if she failed to complete the mission and died after ten thousand years, she would still be able to extend her life for quite a long time. That was enough for her so she would not regret it even if she ended up dying after ten thousand years. For a regular human like her, that amount of time was absurd. Civilizations could not last for that much time. At least in her previous life that was the case.

Thinking about this, Mori was able to get rid of her fears. She was definitely going to do her best in mastering these grimoires but if it was too hard, she was not going to lose her mind over it. This was her second chance in life and she was going to enjoy it to the fullest.

Mori had never been a pessimistic person and after getting this lucky with all the lucky draws, getting worried was hypocritical. So Mori was able to completely relax her mind.
