Two Uchiha clansmen dragged the troublemakers out of the restaurant. Mirai turned to the restaurant owner, his gaze steady.
"Although the matter is resolved, I think it's only right for you to personally explain the situation to everyone," he said calmly. "Don't you think so?"
The restaurant owner hesitated, his face showing unease. "Mirai-sama, I don't think that's necessary," he replied nervously. "Those two… I really can't afford to offend them."
Mirai smiled faintly. "Is that so?"
He paused, his smile turning sharp. "But you see… my blade has no such reservations."
The restaurant owner paled, nodding hurriedly. "Understood, Mirai-sama! I'll handle it right away."
Stepping to the entrance, the restaurant owner addressed the gathered crowd in a loud voice. "Apologies for the disturbance earlier. Those two troublemakers thought they could get away with eating without paying, flaunting their family backgrounds. When I tried to reason with them, they beat me up like this."
He gestured to his injuries, continuing with more fervor. "If not for Uchiha Mirai stepping in to uphold justice, my restaurant would be finished!"
The crowd murmured in agreement, many nodding in respect toward Mirai. The owner seized the moment, singing Mirai's praises. He had no choice—alienating Mirai was a death sentence. Clinging to his favor was his only hope for survival.
When the owner finished his speech, Mirai stepped forward, his commanding presence silencing the crowd.
"I trust you all now understand what happened here," he began, his voice firm. "Let me make one thing clear: the Konoha Police Force exists to maintain the village's peace and order. No one, no matter how influential, has the right to disrupt that peace."
He glanced around, his tone resolute. "As the Police Force leader, I have only one principle: fairness. Fairness, fairness, and—damn it—fairness!"
The crowd erupted into cheers at his words.
"Order two bowls of ramen? Pay for two bowls of ramen. Got it? Let's hear some applause for common sense!"
The villagers clapped enthusiastically, their admiration for Mirai evident.
"As expected of Mirai-sama!" someone exclaimed. "Even the offspring of the Hokage's advisors aren't above the law in his eyes."
"He's amazing," another chimed in. "The Konoha Police Force is finally standing up for the common folk!"
"Exactly. Those elites won't dare to throw their weight around anymore!"
Amid the praise, a skeptical voice muttered, "What if it's just for show? They could release those guys once they're back at headquarters."
The remark was met with immediate disdain.
"Idiot! Would they go so far as to beat them until they're coughing blood just to put on a show?"
"Someone finally stands up for justice, and you spout nonsense? Are you a spy sent to disrupt Konoha's harmony?"
"Keep it up, and I'll personally deal with you!"
The doubters quickly fell silent under the fierce glares of the crowd.
"You know," someone remarked thoughtfully, "the Uchiha may be proud, but they've never been corrupt in their work."
"Yeah, I used to think they were too rigid, but now I see that's exactly why they protect our interests."
"I heard they were at the frontlines during the Third Great Ninja War. The Uchiha aren't as bad as we thought."
"Mirai-senpai, wait up!" A familiar voice called out, prompting Mirai to pause.
He turned to see Anko running toward him, slightly out of breath. "Why'd you leave me behind?" she pouted.
"I forgot you existed," Mirai replied bluntly.
Wow, rude! Anko rolled her eyes at him, but her opinion of him had subtly shifted.
Anko wasn't just anyone—she'd been chosen as Orochimaru's disciple, proof of her intelligence. Watching Mirai today, she realized he wasn't just restoring the Police Force's image or protecting its dignity. He'd also elevated the Uchiha Clan's standing in the village through a seemingly simple act of justice.
Of course, this could invite retaliation from the advisors behind the two offenders. But as Mirai had said—his strength was sufficient to handle it. He hadn't cared about her tainted reputation, so why would he fear the advisors?
For someone only a little older than her, Mirai had achieved things even Orochimaru couldn't.
"Don't idolize me," Mirai said, breaking her train of thought. "I'm just a legend."
Anko flushed, caught off guard. "Stop being so full of yourself, senpai!"
At the village's training grounds, Kakashi was locked in a fierce taijutsu match with Guy. Nearby, Kurenai and Rin chatted under a tree, while Genma and Ebisu huddled suspiciously, a book with a covered title in their hands.
"Oi, you brats look fired up!" Mirai called out as he approached.
Everyone looked up, and Kurenai and Rin immediately ran toward him. Their movements, Mirai noted wryly, were at that age where their charm became hard to ignore.
"Mirai, you're finally here!" Kurenai greeted. "We've been waiting forever."
Her gaze shifted to Anko. "And who's this?"
"Anko Mitarashi," Mirai introduced. "Orochimaru's former student."
"Former," Anko emphasized, bowing politely. "Nice to meet you, Kurenai-senpai, Rin-senpai."
The three girls quickly hit it off, leaving Mirai momentarily baffled at how fast their bond formed.
Meanwhile, Kakashi and Guy approached, flanked by Genma and Ebisu.
"Mirai," Genma said enviously, "you've really made it big as Police leader. Isn't that right, Ebisu?"
Ebisu hid his book and nodded, though his focus seemed more on the scene of Mirai surrounded by girls.
Guy, ever enthusiastic, declared, "Mirai, youth waits for no one! Are you ready for my challenge?"
Mirai waved him off. "Why not stick with Kakashi? He's better suited for you."
Guy grinned. "Then this time, Kakashi and I will take you on together!"
Mirai glanced at Kakashi, who merely scoffed but didn't object.
"Fine," Mirai said, shrugging. "Time to teach you both a little humility."
