"I've been training hard with Kakashi recently, so don't underestimate us!"
Guy grinned brightly, giving a thumbs up as his signature teeth gleamed in the sunlight. The flash of light caught Mirai's eye, prompting him to mentally quip:
Guy, my friend, you're the real "White Fang" of Konoha.
Before Mirai could dwell on the thought, Kakashi launched an unexpected attack.
A dozen shuriken flew from multiple directions, aimed straight at Mirai.
"Kakashi, resorting to sneak attacks? That's unlike you," Mirai said as he easily deflected the shuriken and darted toward Kakashi at blinding speed.
"If we don't use some tricks, we'd have no chance of beating you," Kakashi replied, unsheathing his short blade and engaging Mirai in close combat.
"This is youth!" Guy roared with enthusiasm, his fists clenched tightly as veins bulged from his neck.
"Eight Gates: Gate of Joy, Open!"
In an instant, green energy surged around Guy, his chakra becoming wild and unrestrained. A moment later, his figure vanished.
"Leaf Strong Whirlwind!"
Bam!
Mirai blocked the strike, forcing Guy to twist mid-air to redirect his momentum.
"Leaf Strong Whirlwind!"
Guy unleashed a flurry of relentless attacks, his strikes hammering into Mirai, who parried each blow with ease. Kakashi joined the fray, supporting Guy's barrage with precise strikes. The clash became a chaotic spectacle of skill and speed.
"Such intense chakra—Guy's strength is overwhelming!"
"And the Hatake clan's kenjutsu is razor-sharp. Just watching Kakashi is enough to make it hard to breathe."
"Kakashi's already passed the jonin exam, and Guy's performance isn't far behind. Does that mean they both have jonin-level strength now?"
"Even so, Mirai's clearly stronger. He's handling both of them without breaking a sweat."
Hearing Ebisu and Genma's commentary, Kurenai smirked confidently.
"I told you… If you think two jonin can give Mirai any trouble, you're underestimating him."
Rin chimed in with a playful smile, "Exactly. Mirai hasn't even activated his Sharingan yet. He's just toying with them."
Genma muttered in disbelief, "The way you two talk, someone might think you're just as strong as Mirai."
Kurenai calmly replied, "My strength doesn't matter. Mirai gave me this."
She held up a kunai made of shimmering gold sand, its surface gleaming in the sunlight. Genma and Ebisu stared, jaws dropping.
"A kunai… made of gold?!"
"Is there something special about it?" Genma asked, curious.
Before Kurenai could answer, Rin interjected, "Of course! It's marked with a Flying Thunder God seal.
If Kurenai's ever in danger, she can send chakra into the kunai, and Mirai will teleport to her instantly."
Genma and Ebisu's eyes widened in awe.
"That's incredible!"
"But, Rin, how do you know so much about it?" Genma asked suspiciously.
Rin blushed and shyly pulled an identical golden kunai from her pouch.
"Because… Mirai gave me one too."
The two men were stunned speechless.
What kind of guy gives out kunai made of gold like candy?
Sharing a look of mutual disbelief, they thought to themselves, No wonder he's so popular with the girls—he's loaded!
Meanwhile, Anko crossed her arms and muttered under her breath, "What a playboy."
Rin turned to Kurenai with a soft smile. "You don't mind, do you?"
Kurenai smiled back, her expression dazzling. "Of course not. I'm not that petty."
At the center of the training field, Mirai pushed back Kakashi and Guy, raising a hand.
"That's enough for today."
"Enough? Don't dismiss our efforts like that!" Kakashi snapped, charging forward again, short blade flashing.
Guy's grin widened with excitement. "Mirai, you won't leave here so easily unless you defeat both of us!"
Mirai raised an eyebrow. "If that's how you want it, don't blame me for being harsh."
With that, Mirai vanished.
When he reappeared, he had already grabbed Guy's legs.
"Earth Release: Double Suicide Decapitation Technique!"
Guy was pulled into the ground, leaving only his head above the surface.
Turning quickly, Mirai caught Kakashi's fist mid-swing.
"What are you planning?" Kakashi asked, a bad feeling settling in his gut as Mirai's mischievous grin grew wider.
Poof!
Mirai's body vanished in a cloud of white smoke.
"A Shadow Clone?!" Kakashi exclaimed.
Before he could react, Mirai's voice came from behind.
"Secret Technique: Thousand Years of Death!"
Kakashi went flying with a yelp, clutching his rear. Guy, watching from his partially buried position, suddenly felt relieved.
Being stuck in the ground isn't so bad after all.
After the sparring session, Mirai walked over to where Rin, Kurenai, and the others were gathered.
"What were you talking about?" he asked with a smile.
"Oh, nothing much. Just the golden kunai," Kurenai replied, grinning.
Mirai nodded, "Carry on then. I've got some things to take care of."
Before anyone could respond, Mirai disappeared in a flash.
The group stared, stunned.
What speed!
Kurenai clenched her teeth silently, while Rin fidgeted with her golden kunai.
Seeing their reactions, Anko sighed. "For what it's worth, he really does have things to deal with."
Kurenai and Rin looked at her, surprised.
"What do you mean?"
Anko shrugged. "Earlier today, he captured two relatives of the village advisors."
"What?!" Kurenai and Rin exclaimed simultaneously.
Anko proceeded to explain the events of the day, and as the two women listened intently, she silently cursed Mirai in her heart.
