Chapter 15 - Force Him into Marriage

Charlotte raised her wrist and saw a red bruise.

It was from being tied up for a long time.

Trying to relieve the pain, Charlotte blew air on her wrist.

When Henry saw Charlotte's wrist, he felt distressed and said, "Serves you right!"

Charlotte was at a loss for words.

"What do you mean it serves me right?" she asked. "I didn't expect to encounter a psychopath."

It was already bad enough that Caroline killed her husband and tried to frame her, but she had also tied her up and tried to force her to falsely confess guilt.

She had been doomed no matter what.

"If you had gotten in the car, do you think all this would have happened in the first place?" Henry asked coldly.

Charlotte was shocked.

What?

When she met Henry after she got off work, he hadn't been trying to get her in the car to take advantage of her?

He had wanted to protect her instead?

"You already knew this would happen?" Charlotte asked incredulously.

Henry didn't speak, but the expression on his face explained everything.

The admiration in Charlotte's heart increased a little more.

No wonder her eight children were so smart. They had inherited their intelligence from their father.

To think she had imagined that they had gotten their intelligence from her.

Charlotte blushed.

She was so narcissistic!

"What?"

The howl came again.

Only then did Charlotte remember that Caroline was still lying on the ground and screaming in pain.

But she and Henry were just standing there and chatting...

"Don't move!"

Suddenly, a group of people rushed in.

It was the police.

Charlotte was at a loss for words.

The police had arrived way too late.

Just after the police came in, Henry's phone rang.

After he listened to the voice on the other end for a few seconds, Henry's head hurt a little. "The old man is here?"

When he received an affirmative answer, Henry thought for a moment and asked, "Then, did my mother come here too?"

He got a positive answer again.

Henry's headache worsened.

He said, "I'll be there right away."

After hanging up the phone, Henry was ready to leave.

The police were here, so this woman would no longer be in any danger.

Before he left, Henry said, "Woman, protect your own life in the future!"

The police were late this time. If it hadn't been for Henry, Charlotte would have inevitably been tortured, even if he had saved her life in the end.

Charlotte said reflexively, "Are you expressing concern for me?"

"No. That's just your wishful thinking!"

Charlotte did not respond.

To rescue her, Henry had not hesitated to come to the abandoned factory alone.

Even if he had planned everything, it was still a great risk.

He had said that it was just her wishful thinking, but Charlotte didn't think it was.

This man was expressing concern for her!

Hmph!

What a dishonest man.

"If you die, the Stevens Corporation will lose part of its cheap labor force," Henry said.

Charlotte did not say anything.

She was utterly speechless.

Before Henry could leave, she shouted, "President Stevens, thank you!"

Henry paused. His face stiff, he said awkwardly, "Lunatic!"

...

The police handcuffed Caroline. Before they took her away, Caroline suddenly shouted at Charlotte, "You sl*t! You not only tried to seduce my husband, but you also seduced Henry. You are such a shameless sl*t!"

Charlotte said nothing.

"Do you know why I framed you?" Caroline yelled. "It's because my husband hooked up with so many women, but only you told me to go to the hotel! Why would you do such a thing? Was it because you wanted me to see my husband having s*x with you? I only did all of this out of anger!"

Caroline turned to the police. "I want a lawyer to defend me," she said. "Because she wanted to replace me and deliberately provoked me, I did all of this out of anger."

...

Charlotte was speechless. This woman was a psychopath.

"What you just said is not the truth!" a childish but firm voice said.

It was the voice of Quarto.

After Quinto told him to call the police, the eight children had gone to the police station.

This time, they had all followed.

The police had started to say that the factory was a dangerous area, so they were not allowed in and had to stay in the police car.

Then, Caroline had come out in handcuffs.

The children had just gotten out of the police car.

Quarto was young, but he had an extraordinary presence. "My mom bought a fruit knife in the supermarket for self-defense, but you stole it to frame her," he said.

"You stole it on the bus, but when we tried to check the bus's surveillance footage, all the records were destroyed.

"You don't work for the bus company, and you have no relatives, so only your friends could help you. A friend would be unwilling to do such a favor unless you had a special relationship with that friend.

"The driver who drove at the time was a male."

After speaking, Quarto looked at Quinto. He was responsible for solving the case, and the following deduction had all been thanks to Quinto.

Quinto continued, "The male driver was willing to destroy the evidence for you because you were having an affair with him behind your husband's back. That was why you could tolerate your husband's infidelity toward you all the time.

"Quarto also found out that you have been applying to the court for a divorce for several years, but your husband never agreed. Because your husband was unfaithful to you but refused to divorce you, you have long held a grudge against him. This time, you came up with a plan to kill your husband with my mom's hand.

"Yet you are still complaining that it is because my mother provoked you that you made such a move. It is nothing more than an attempt to lessen your guilt in the eyes of the court. You're using such an excuse to get a lighter sentence!"

Caroline froze.

Quinto's words made her face turn pale.

She had never expected that a child would guess all her ulterior motives.

Caroline's reaction made everyone present understand that Quinto was right.

They were all amazed.

How could such a small child be so smart and have such meticulous, rational thinking? What a genius!

Charlotte was also dumbfounded.

In her hometown, she had seen Quinto's intellectual prowess.

But this time, Quinto was even more impressive.

"This kid is amazing," one of the policemen exclaimed. "That was an analysis of criminal psychology, but such a small kid just did it.

"There's also Quarto, who is also very impressive. He assisted in investigating the case. The last evidence we found was due to the clues provided by Quinto. It was because of him that we were able to arrest her."

Listening to everyone's praise for Quarto and Quinto, Octavia stood up.

She said in a childish voice, "I am also very impressive. I am the best at acting cute!Primo said, "We are all impressive. Each of us is an amazing little child!"

The police roared with laughter from amusement over Octavia's and Primo's words.

When they had finished laughing, the police said to Charlotte, "At first, when the eight children came to report the crime, we thought it was a joke. We definitely would not have come here if Quarto had not assisted in investigating the crime."

"Yeah, it was only after seeing so many children that we found out that you gave birth to eight children."

"We were all talking about how someone could take care of eight children. I was exhausted after giving birth to three. But it seems that you don't have to worry about that at all."

"Your children are all too smart. I have never seen such smart children before."

Hearing their compliments, Charlotte was over the moon.

People complimenting her children made her happier than people complimenting her.

The incident was finally over, so Charlotte happily returned home with her eight children.

...

At the same time, Henry returned to the Stevens family's villa.

His grandfather and mother had returned from England.

...

The ancestors of the Stevens family had made their fortune in Britain, and the older generations had been living in the mansion there.

Henry had stayed in the Imperial City because the Stevens Corporation was now focusing on foreign countries.

When Old Master Stevens and Madam Lydia, Henry's mother, came back suddenly, Henry could guess why.

It was probably to force him into marriage.

Old Master Stevens had mentioned many times that he wanted to see his grandchildren.

They had probably come back this time because of that.

Old Master Stevens asked again, "Henry, when will you get married and bring a woman home?"

The Stevens family did not know about Lily, who had been placed in another villa by Henry.

Henry's voice was sulky as he said, "I have no interest in women."

Except for Charlotte.

But he still didn't understand his feelings for Charlotte.

When he saw her in danger, he would save her.

Even if she was ungrateful, he would still save her.

Upon seeing her stupidly adorable appearance, he felt happy.

When he was close to her, he felt lustful desires toward her.

He had never felt like this toward another woman.

But he was disgusted by the way she played hard to get and her worship of money.

Toward Charlotte, he felt a mixture of two emotions.

Like and dislike were intertwined.

"Not interested in women?" Old Master Stevens said thoughtfully. "Are you interested in men?"

Madam Lydia remained silent.

Her beautiful, graceful face looked a little awkward.

Trying to look indifferent, Henry said, "Do you think that's possible?"

Old Master Stevens laughed.

"Kidding, kidding."

He continued stubbornly, "I don't care whether you are interested in men or women.

No matter what, you must give me a great-grandson. I want to hold my great-grandson now!"

The blue vein on Henry's forehead throbbed.

He knew that his great-grandfather and mother would not have come back for no reason.

"Henry," Madam Lydia said, "you must have heard of the Anderson Corporation, which is the company owned by the famous British aristocracy. It occupies twenty percent of the world's wealth. It just so happens that the family's only daughter has just reached adulthood this year."

Madam Lydia gave Henry a meaningful look. "She's also reached the age of marriage," she said. "I have a good relationship with her mother. She once told me that her daughter seems pleased with you. If you agree, you two can meet."

"I don't agree," Henry said curtly.

Seeing Henry's outright opposition, Madam Lydia stopped being polite with him.

"You must meet with her even if you don't agree," she said.

"I have no interest in marriage," Henry said coldly.

Madam Lydia's tone became imperious. "Henry, Natalie Anderson is a good girl. If you see her, you will become attracted to her."

"I will not!"

"Henry, you have reached the age of marriage, and you must produce offspring for the Stevens family. This is your responsibility."

"As long as I don't die, I won't lose my fertility," Henry said lightly, "so it's still too early to talk about marriage."

Or perhaps he hadn't yet met a woman who could make him think about marriage.

He had high demands for marriage.

If he hadn't encountered the one, he definitely wouldn't make do.

Nor would he, like the other blue-bloods, marry for the sake of the family.

He had confidence in himself.

He was enough to carry the family forward and help them gain more benefits.

There was no need for marriage. It would just be the icing on the cake.

The woman he would marry in the future had to be someone he liked and someone he wanted to marry.

Madam Lydia was so furious with Henry that she was at a loss for words.

Although he was her son, there was nothing she could do to convince him.

When Henry was still very young, he had shown amazing wisdom and determinatioEven at a young age, her son had already been out of her control.

Madam Lydia looked at Old Master Stevens.

She knew that only Old Master Stevens could deal with Henry.
