Ördögház

Selene, hearing Lucian's voice, frowned. Her gaze locked onto the masked man, her eyes narrowed.

'Who is he?' she wondered, her mind scrambling for a memory, a connection. She tried to recall where she had met him, where she had heard that voice.

But the years had taken their toll. Lucian had changed too much. It was impossible to think of this masked man as the kid who was getting hunted by supernatural creatures. He had changed from his voice and height and the way he killed was too different how he had done in the hotel and Selene knew the Ozunu Clan had been destroyed.

Kraven, his face contorted with rage, watched Selene ignore him. His jaw tightened, his fingers clenching into fists.

"Are you not gonna answer me?" he demanded, his voice a low growl, his eyes burning with fury.

Selene, her brows furrowed, turned to face him. Her eyes were cold, her gaze steady.

"I don't know him," she said, her voice clipped, irked by Kraven's escalating anger.

Kraven's eyes narrowed, his gaze fixed on Selene. He observed her, searching for any sign of deceit, any flicker of doubt. He scoffed, disbelief lacing his voice.

"Huh, you better make sure. Otherwise, Viktor will be the one killing you, if you betrayed the coven."

Kraven then looked down at the masked man, his glare searing.

"I'm gonna ask one last time, who are you?!" Although Kraven was angered, he knew he needed to figure out who was the mask man, after all those who dare attack the coven where the Elders lay rest is someone that had the confidence to do it, meaning it's either he was strong enough or crazy enough to do it.

Lucian just took a look at Kraven before turning back to Selene, a smirk playing on his lips while he made a decision.

"Do you know how your family really died?" Lucian asked, his voice laced with a teasing quality that sent a chill down Selene's spine. He didn't want to kill her. After all, he'd already promised Cortana he wouldn't. But if she got in his way, he had no choice. He'd made his decision, making her the enemy of the vampires.

Selene frowned, her mind racing. She didn't know what this masked man was playing at. She knew exactly how her family had died at the hands of the Lycans. The memory of that night, of the carnage, of the terror, was seared into her soul. Viktor had saved her, rescuing her from the chaos. She knew it. She remembered it. But this man, this masked figure, she knew he wanted to say something completely different. Her heart pounded but although her frown deepened she didn't talk, she thought the masked man was just trying to cause trouble, stirring up more chaos.

Meanwhile, Kraven's eyes widened in shock, his body trembling slightly. A cold dread washed over him. He knew the real reason Selene's family had died. 'Impossible. No one should know that!' he thought to himself, his mind reeling. It was just him and Viktor. He'd kept the truth buried deep within himself, a dark secret that he hadn't dared to share with anyone. But now, this masked man was revealing it, spilling their darkest secret into the open. He didn't want to risk it. He was about to order his men to apprehend Lucian, but the masked man continued.

Lucian looked at Selene, who was still silent. He didn't care. He continued, turning off his energy blade.

"Don't you know? There were no Lycans that night. It was just your dear Viktor that was there, oh, and Kraven."

Lucian saw Selene's eyes widen. He looked at Kraven, a smirk playing on his lips.

"You can ask him."

Selene suddenly turned towards Kraven, wanting to get the truth from him. But Kraven, his face contorted with rage and shock, smashed his hand against the railings.

"Lies! You keep spouting nonsense all this time, wanting to start discord in our coven," he said, trying to hide the tremor in his voice. 'How did he know that?' he thought. It was impossible for anyone to know. He had been the one guarding the place when Viktor had killed Selene's family.

"Is it true?" Selene asked, her voice tight with disbelief. She walked closer to Kraven, wanting to get the truth. She could see that Kraven was rattled, his emotions on edge.

"Are you really going to believe an intruder who killed our coven members, Selene?" Kraven looked at her, his eyes narrowed. He knew he couldn't hide it from her forever. She would figure it out eventually.

"That's why I'm asking you. Is it true?" Selene asked again, stopping in front of Kraven. Her irises turned blue, reflecting the turmoil within her. Confusion, anger, and disbelief swirled in her mind.

Kraven didn't speak. He knew no excuse would work. The only way was to lock her up or kill her. 'Otherwise, sooner or later, she'll become trouble,' he thought, but he hesitated. He knew how Viktor saw Selene. As his daughter.

Just when Selene was about to press him further, a loud explosion echoed through the building.

*Boom!*

The building shook violently. The lights flickered and died, leaving them in darkness. The vampires, instinctually reacting, raised their weapons, aiming them at Lucian.

Selene and Kraven exchanged a look, both aware that this was not the right time to argue. Kraven looked back at Lucian, his eyes narrowed with suspicion. Selene drew her gun, pointing it at Lucian, her face a mask of uncertainty.

Lucian shook his head, his eyes reflecting the flickering shadows of the foyer. 'Pity. If they fought, I might have gotten Selene on my side,' he thought. He was already starting to see the potential for chaos, for a war between the vampires and the Lycans, and he was ready to exploit it.

Cortana's voice echoed in his mind. 'It's more like you're forcing her to be on your side,' she rebuked, her tone laced with disapproval. 'You're playing a dangerous game, Lucian. You're not thinking this through.' She knew that Lucian hadn't given Selene any choice, making her an enemy of the vampires.

'She wouldn't like it if she found out about it,' Cortana said, shaking her head mentally. She couldn't believe he was so reckless.

'Isn't that better than me killing her?' Lucian responded, his gaze fixed on Selene. He saw the confusion and anger swirling in her eyes. He knew she wouldn't like it, but it was his way of ensuring she wouldn't become an obstacle forcing him to kill her.

Kraven, his gaze fixed on Lucian, started to speak, his voice laced with a chilling calm.

"Looks like you're not alone, but do you think darkness will help you?"

Kraven watched as the vampires surrounding Lucian began to glow with an eerie blue light. Their eyes, previously filled with a predatory hunger, now shimmered with an unnatural luminescence, allowing them to see through the darkness.

Kraven turned his attention to his vampire guards.

"Apprehend him, but don't kill him." Kraven was confident that the mask man had just managed to catch them by surprise and killed the vampires in the foyer, but now that man wouldn't survive this. He was surrounded by them.

Yet, before the vampires could move, Lucian took a look at their glowing blue eyes. He began to laugh, a low, amused chuckle that echoed through the darkened foyer.

"Hahaha," he laughed, his head thrown back, his laughter growing louder, more unrestrained. Kraven narrowed his eyes, intrigued and a little terrified. 'Looks like this man is more crazy than I thought,' he thought.

Lucian looked up when he finished laughing. His voice was a whisper, but it carried an unsettling power.

"Maybe you are creatures of the night, but darkness has always been my ally."

The vampires, poised to make their move, froze in disbelief. The room was already shrouded in darkness, shadows pooling thickly in the foyer. But then, something shifted. The very darkness began to gather and coalesce, as if summoned by an unseen force. It swirled around Lucian, forming a dense, almost palpable veil that enveloped him entirely. In an instant, he vanished from their sight, becoming a part of darkness itself.

Lucian knew that relying solely on his ninja skills against vampires wouldn't work. Their senses and instincts were far keener than those of humans. He needed to use something more. His power over darkness.

Kraven held onto the railing tightly, his eyes scanning the room, searching for any sign of the masked man.

Selene frowned, slowly lowering her gun. She knew that the masked man had most likely escaped, but a sudden blast of hot air hit her ear, making her freeze.

"Do you want to know the truth, you just need to drink his blood," Lucian whispered temptingly in Selene's ear as he appeared by her side. He knew from the movies how vampires can see another person's memories through getting their blood.

Selene's eyes widened before reacting raising up her guns while turning around while the other vampires felt her movements followed suit but Lucian already disappeared.

Kraven, who had turned towards Selene's direction, his eyes widened and reacted instinctively.

He was older than Selene, making him much stronger and faster. His vampire senses, keen and sharp, had already picked up Lucian's presence. He pulled out his gun, turning as he fired behind him.

*Bang!*

The gunshot echoed through the foyer. When Kraven completely turned, his eyes widened in disbelief, he saw he'd missed. His shot was close, the bullet whistling past Lucian's ear, but the masked figure had simply tilted his head, dodging the shot with ease.

"Close," Lucian whispered mockingly looking at Kraven as he waved his hand that was holding the handle then an energy blade appeared cutting off Kraven's arm.

Kraven didn't even get a chance to scream as Lucian kicked him towards the stairs making the vampires on the stairs stumble.

Lucian, with a fluid motion, caught Kraven's separated arm as it sailed through the air. He held it aloft for a moment, a chilling trophy, before throwing it towards Selene. The arm, still twitching slightly, landed in her hands, the weight of it startling her. She froze, eyes wide with shock, unable to comprehend the speed at which it all happened.

"No!" Erika a vampire maid and sire of Kraven shouted in anger seeing Kraven's arm cut off, as the vampires reacted shooting towards Lucian. *Rat-ta-ta-tat*

"You'll need it," Lucian said to Selene, his voice a chilling whisper. His eyes focused on the bullet's trajectory, as the bullet speed was too slow for him, so with a graceful, fluid motion, he kept dodging the bullets that were still whizzing past him.

Then, with a swift, almost casual flick of his wrist, he threw a blinking purple light disk towards the center of the room.

The disk arced through the air like an ominous projectile. Then Lucian became one with darkness again before he completely disappeared.

Selene's eyes widened, seeing the purple light arcing through the air. Her instincts took over in an instant, and she turned around, her movements swift and decisive.

She knelt down, using her long trench coat to cover her body, shielding herself from the unknown threat.

The other vampires, seeing the disk, reacted with the same instinctive fear, dropping to the ground, seeking cover.

*Booom!* A sudden flash of purple light exploded, illuminating the room for a fleeting moment. It was blindingly bright, then vanished as quickly as it had appeared, leaving the room plunged back into darkness.

Selene then stood up, turning around, holding Kraven's arm. She heard a thud, a heavy, sickening sound, and turned to see Erika, scorched, burned, and still smoking, falling to the ground. It wasn't only Erika. Those vampires who hadn't reacted in time, who hadn't been able to hide, were now lying on the floor, their bodies charred and smoking.

Many vampires died as only the death dealers got a trench coat to hide from the sudden explosion of a uv bomb. caught them off guard, leaving them helpless.

Kraven stared at Erika's body in anger, his remaining arm throbbing, and his other hand clutching the stump where his arm had been severed, the bleeding had already stopped. Then, he saw a blue light flash on his line of sight that disappeared quickly. He heard a thud, the sound of something falling.

Kraven turned his head towards the sound and saw a vampire, cut cleanly in half. His eyes widened as he saw the blue light flash again, and another vampire screamed.

"Ahhhh," *Rat-ta-ta-tat* The vampire kept firing his gun, his shots echoing through the foyer. Then, a blue flash appeared, and his arms were cut off at the elbows. The blue light flashed again, before disappearing completely. The vampire's head dropped from his body, rolling on the floor. Another vampire knelt to the ground, his upper body falling forward, his head rolling off his body, stopping his screams in mid-air.

"Go find him!" Kraven shouted ordering the other death dealers with his voice laced with fear. He was starting to feel afraid, how the masked man kept killing them, one by one.

He looked at Soren, his personal bodyguard. They both shared a look before Soren started firing his gun, leading Kraven and two other vampires out of the foyer.
