Leon moved a barrel of wine over and put it on the table.
This large barrel of wine was not light, if it was an ordinary person, they would already be gasping for breath by now, but Leon was at least a second rank warrior, this weight was still a breeze.
Only to see Hurlan's right hand brushed over the barrel, flashed a faint bright light, the barrel disappeared.
It was a space ring!
Leon looked at a ring in Helan's hand with secret envy.
"Well, seeing as you are indeed sincere in your quest to learn, I can teach you Necromancy."
"Really?" Leon was overjoyed in his heart, but his face showed little expression.
The lighting of the tavern was a bit dim, and there were a few flies fluttering around the oil lamp.
"Your name is Leon, isn't it?"
"Yes, Mr. Hurran."
"You're a popular figure in Lech City, but I have a feeling that there's something different between you and the rumors." Hurlan put the wine cup into his space ring and brought it out again, already filled with a cup of fine wine, and drank it all in one go.
"People always change." Leon rubbed his nose, there was no telling how long it would take to clean up the mess the former host had made.
"Don't worry, I won't judge a person so easily because of rumors." Helan's gaze towards Leon became a little sharper, "I will only trust my own eyes."
"That's great." Leon breathed a sigh of relief.
"However, wanting to become my disciple is not an easy task. Tell you what, I'll give you a simple test, and if you pass, I'll teach you Necromancy."
Leon froze, there was no such follow-up in the game.
But yeah, this was reality, the reality where you couldn't turn over resources in a trash can.
"Near the Sierre Forest, there is an abandoned relic, that seals a high level demon." Helan took out a parchment from his spatial ring and spread it out on the table, "If you can make a pact with that demon, then I will teach you necromancy."
Leon was silent.
His own quest to switch to become a Necromancer was actually to become a Demon Contractor? What was going on here.
Leon slowly spoke, "Demon Contractors don't have a good reputation, do they?"
In this world, a Demon Contractor was a fallen person who couldn't resist temptation and fell into the devil's minions, and was the target of the Holy Clergy's crusade.
They are also the enemies of the brave.
If one became a Demon Contractor, sooner or later they would go up against the behemoth that was the Holy Cleric.
Helan, however, asked rhetorically with some disbelief, "Is the reputation of a necromancer any better?"
In the eyes of onlookers, necromancers were also all a bunch of necrophiliac perverts who spent their days in the company of rotting corpses and skeletons.
"Kid, power is power, there is no good or bad." Helan said, "What there is is only the desire within a person's heart, and only those who are not strong-willed enough will be controlled by demonic power."
"Educated."
Leon took the parchment spread out on the table, "I'll give it a try."
"Don't worry, that demon's seal is strong, it can't get out. And it should be happy to lend you its power, the despair and fear that demonic contractors bring to others can be a new source of power for the demon. But ... "Helan gave a slight beat, "If you can't control the demon's power, then I'll personally take action to blast you into oblivion."
"Thanks." Leon stepped out of the tavern door.
The Bone Rat poked half his head out of his glass, "What a polite boy."
"Oh? Why are you starting to speak up for him as well? Weren't you still against me taking him as a disciple before?"
"Well ... maybe it's because the wine tastes good?"
...
"Oh? Going out again?"
Yol looked at Leon who was dressed in his leather armor.
"Yes, father."
"You've got a lot of energy lately, be careful and stay safe."
Lucy came bouncing over, "Brother, don't forget to bring me a present this time!"
Leon placed a gentle kiss on Lucy's glossy forehead, "Don't worry, dear sister, wait for your brother's triumphant return."
"I hope you bring back something this time, even if it's a rabbit."
Leon laughed dumbly, "You can look forward to it then."
The outer rim of the Sierre Forest was home to a number of weak magical creatures, such as the common kobolds and slimes, which were of low intelligence and could be easily dealt with by even an adult who had not practiced martial arts at all.
The inner circle of the Sierre Forest had more powerful magical creatures, Joel had once crushed a fifth-ranked Flaming Lion in the inner circle, causing quite a stir.
However, for Leon, crushing demons was not his goal.
Leon once again came to the altar, where the rusty longsword was still stuck on the altar.
Surrounding the altar were several irregularly shaped stone pillars with complex magical inscriptions carved on them.
"Interesting human, you're actually here again." The demon's voice resounded directly in Leon's mind.
After knowing that the sealed demon couldn't come out, Leon was no longer afraid in his heart, "Yes, I want to sign a contract with you."
"What a bold human, then why don't you try pulling out that sword? I can give you even more power."
"You know, I must not be able to pull it out." Leon shrugged, he had already learned that that sword was the sealing principal, naturally it wasn't something an ordinary person could just pull out, "Stop fooling yourself, you won't be able to get out."
The demon laughed, "Lol, there's always some hope isn't there? I won't lose out by letting you try, in case you're a brave man chosen by heaven, won't I be free?"
Guts could draw this sword? It was the first time Leon knew that.
"Stay with me for a while, I'm so bored after being locked up here for so long." The demon looked like he was nagging Leon, "How's it going out there now, did the Demon King show up yet?"
Leon: "Nope, it'll be another ten years before the Demon King shows up."
Demon: "Oh, your bragging skills are really not bad, how do you know when the demon king appears?"
Leon: "Don't believe me."
Leon spreads the parchment on the ground, cuts his finger with a knife, and draws a rather simple magic formation on the parchment.
The demon was a bit surprised, "Pretty well prepared."
Obviously this kid was still a white boy who knew nothing when he came here last time.
"Then let us begin."
Leon stood up, took out a small piece of fire-attribute magic stone, and lit the parchment on fire.
After the parchment was burned to the ground, the magic formation, which was condensed from blood, floated in front of Leon, flickering with a bizarre red light.
"With my blood, I constructed this array, inherited the power of the contract, and made a promise of immortality. Demon of Death Rolmeras, if thou wilt grant me the power of the demon, I will spread death and despair in thy name."
Within the altar, a black light lit up, and a sliver of Rolmeras' demonic power, converged within the contract formation.
"Demon pact, done!"
