Chapter 10 - Chapter 10 - Red Wolf Mercenary Corps

A man at the head of the group came to Leon.

"You are Leon. Gugaman? The son of the Yol Regiment ... ahem, the Yol City Lord?"

Big brother, you almost said something just now.

There should be a reason why Yol hid the fact that he was the leader of the Red Wolf Mercenary Regiment from Leon, and Leon didn't want to go deeper into it. And on the bright side, the man in front of him was the leader of the Red Wolf Mercenary Corps.

"Yes, you are the head of Edgar, right?"

"Well, your father requested us to piggyback you through the Ghost Mountain Range." Edgar carefully sized up the Leon in front of him, "I heard that you have the strength of a third-rank warrior, which is quite good, but our mercenary troupe has our mercenary troupe's discipline, so I hope you can abide by it."

Leon returned, "No problem, leader, I will unconditionally follow your orders."

"Thanks for cooperating." Edgar smiled and patted Leon's shoulder, seeing that he was so obedient, Edgar was quite satisfied in his heart.

He had also heard some rumors about Leon, and had expected him to be a flighty young lord.

Leon's heart fluttered.

[Name] Edgar

[Identity] Deputy leader of the Red Wolf Mercenary Corps

[Strength] Fifth-ranked assassin

[Panel] Magic 103 Spirit 243 Strength 370 Agility 350 Endurance 236

[Title] Reaper (His fighting style is like chopping vegetables)

...

Just like his father, this Edgar headmaster was also of the fifth rank.

Leon let out a sigh of relief, as far as he remembered, the Ghost Mountain Range was also a copy that was on the novice side, and with a fourth-ranked expert leading the team, one could basically get through it. And the Red Wolf Mercenary Corps had a lineup that was considered luxurious, so nothing would go wrong at all.

Within the mercenary group, Leon not only saw several fourth-rank warriors and mages, but even a fourth-rank acolyte, the light attribute acolyte's restraints on undead creatures were quite obvious.

The rest of the manpower were all around third-rank and second-rank, and if they were arranged to form a battle formation, the strength they could exert could not be underestimated.

The entire team totaled about twenty people.

"Well, it's almost time, get ready to go!"

After Edgar finished counting the manpower, he gave an order, and the group of people marched towards the Ghost Mountain Range in great numbers.

...

Deep in the Ghost Mountain Range.

Underground palace.

On top of the throne accumulated from white bones sat a skeleton with a pitch-black body. If one looked closely, one would find that the skeleton's body shone with a jade-like luster.

Its back was against the throne, its two bone hands resting on the armrests of the throne, and it was unknown how long it had remained in this position.

Suddenly, the skeleton's empty eye sockets lit up with green soul flames.

"I feel it, that guy's breath." The black skeleton muttered, "How long has it been, why is he here again?"

The black skeleton slowly got up, and the throne under its seat, which was pieced together by white bones, was like a block that had lost its support and collapsed, scattering all over the place.

But then, those white bones fluttered fluidly in the air and began to reassemble, piecing together a white bone scepter that was held in the Black Skeleton's hand.

"Go out and see what that guy is doing here."

...

"Sacred Light! Purify the filth before you!" The Holy Cleric raised the cross on his chest, emitting a burst of dazzling white light, and a large swath of low-level evil spirits around him went up in smoke.

Leon secretly marveled, this was the Holy Cleric, what was that Holy Cleric guy who played with the Meteor Hammer.

"Well done! Miss Ace!"

"That was awesome! Miss Ace."

Miss Ace was the acolyte, and through the conversations of the people in the mercenary group, Leon realized that Miss Ace was not a member of the mercenary group, but a nun that Head Edgar had hired from a nearby church.

Miss Ace's appearance was considered clean, but the pair of breasts that the nun's dress could barely keep out of the call, making the men in the mercenary group look straight and scramble to show their strength.

Head Edgar did not say anything about this, it was a good thing that the men in the regiment were motivated.

"Flame! Burn everything in sight!" The mage maneuvered a huge fireball and crushed a skeletal soldier.

"Whirlwind Slash!" The warrior wielded his greatsword and cleaved the zombie in front of him into two pieces.

Hmm, that's awesome.

Leon's eyes were glowing with color, and even though Yol didn't say it to him, he couldn't help but feel a tinge of pride rise in his heart as he knew that these were his father's hands.

"Great shields! Forward to the top! Mages! Prepare purification spells! Archers! Fire arrows!" Edgar commanded methodically, and it seemed that he wasn't even needed for this ride.

With them charging ahead, Leon leisurely hid behind the group to feel the fish.

In fact, Edgar had made it a point to give him a relatively simple and easy seat, this one was the son of the headmaster after all, more or less, he still had to be taken care of.

"However, do you guys have the feeling that compared to the last time we came to the Ghost Mountain Range, it feels a bit off?"

During the break, someone in the group said, "Compared to the last time we passed through the Ghost Mountain Range, it feels like there are a lot more undead creatures here."

"It does seem like there is such a thing." Someone continued, "This section of the road is considered to be quite well traveled in the Ghost Mountain Range, usually there are very few undead creatures, why are there so many today? If it weren't for Ms. Ace, those hordes of evil spirits wouldn't be easy to deal with."

"Alright, stop talking." Edgar interrupted the crowd's conversation, "Adjust your state and get ready to go, the journey will soon be halfway through."

At the halfway point of this journey, there would be an attack of the most undead creatures, and it would also be the most dangerous part of the journey.

Oh, and a huge wave of zombies is on its way. Leon thought untimely in his mind.

However, to the crowd's surprise, next, they didn't encounter any more undead creatures, whether they were skeletal soldiers, zombies that suddenly burrowed out of the ground, or evil ghosts.

"What's going on?"

Everyone was a bit strange in their hearts.

"Something's not right, be on guard at all times! Don't take this lightly! Be ready to deal with undead creatures that suddenly appear!" Edgar shouted.

"Aye! Regiment Leader!"

The Red Wolf Mercenaries advanced cautiously.

What in the world was happening? Edgar's heart was a bit irritated, an inexplicable uneasiness had been hanging over his heart, and nothing like this had ever happened before when he passed through the Ghost Mountain Range.

It seemed that the undead creatures in the second half of the journey had all converged to the first half? Could it be that something had changed in the Ghost Mountain Range?

However, looking at the light that gradually brightened in front of him, the gloom in Edgar's heart gradually dissipated, no matter what, they had finally come out.

They were safe.

"Prepare to count the number of people! Miss Ace!"

"Here!"

"Treon!"

"Present!"

"Coleman!"

"Present!"

...

"Leon!"

There was no reply.

Edgar frowned slightly and called out again, "Leon!"

"Headmaster!"

Miss Ace raised her hand shakily, she had been following Leon for the second half of the journey, "Mr. Leon he ... is missing!"
