Chapter 1 - Prologue: The Playboy Gets Played.

It was another night of debauchery for Adam, the girl jumping up and down on him while he looked at his phone was a complete stranger. He didn't even know her name.

Not that her name mattered, Adam had long given up on the notion of remembering the names of the girls he slept with.

'If you're busy enough in life doing a lot of important work you can't help but forget a few things every now and then.' That's the excuse he used in his head to justify it.

You could think of him as your bottom of the barrel scum that thinks of women as just a means to an end for pleasure and criticise him for it. Even if you said it to his face he wouldn't care about it one bit.

They say once you live a hard enough life, you get desensitized to many core human values and morals that you could have had if you were born in a decent family or surrounded by decent people.

Adam however, wasn't fortunate enough to have any of that.

Born in a middle class family, where Adam could have just focused on his studies and become a salary man, he also had to deal with his father who was neglected by his own father who prefered to care for the kids of his 2nd wife instead of his own flesh and blood , so Adam's father never knew what it was like to raise a son. Adam never got to learn anything from his father who struggled with becoming an adult and barely keeping the family afloat with his meagre income.

His mother on the other hand had her own issues. She was so traumatized by her mother in law that she became mentally ill and always mentally and physically tormented him and compared her son to other children in the distant family he didn't even know the faces of.

After going through a childhood filled with torment both physical and mental, both from his parents and the outside world, Adam finally made his way into the business world at the age of 16 and became a millionaire at the age of 20.

The only thing that had made that terrible childhood bearable was when his aunt gifted him a laptop on his 11th birthday that allowed him to play the new and popular game known as 'Theatre Of Gods' .

This game was his escape from his bleak reality that kept him going without taking his own life due to the pain he endured constantly at such a young age.

Now it had been 10 years since the game had been launched and it had come time for it's end of service, as did the story of the game.

While most veterans of the game just thanked the devs for all the great memories from the game, Adam had different plans.

What he was seeing on his phone while the girl moved passionately on his crotch was the forums of 'Theatre Of Gods'

Adam was fuming after experiencing the ending of the game. It was unsatisfactory.

The protagonist was your average eunuch extremely talented individual from a humble background blessed by the Gods in every way whenever he faced an adversary too strong to defeat he would just gain new abilities as the god used their causality to help their favored individual to survive.

At least that's how it looked at the surface.

As the story went on it was revealed that the Gods of that world were nothing but sadistic individuals who gained pleasure from the suffering of all the people of the planet where the game takes place.

The more the people suffered, the more they prayed to the gods, the stronger the gods got, the more they used that newfound power to spread misery around the world.

People could say the the game's story had a good ending because in the end humanity won and evil was conquered but from start to finish the protagonist was nothing but the puppet of the gods, each and every action of his was predicted by them from start to finish.

A truly pathetic existence.

A waste of all that strength.

Adam let his fury flow on the forums as he typed fervently "This trash Game with it's trash ending, what is this unsatisfying bullsh*t there was no free will from start to finish all the choices were meaningless and the ending is rushed and sounds like something the devs pulled out of their *ss because they were too lazy to connect all the lose ends and plot points they themselves established years ago. A toddler can write a better ending that the vomit you spewed into our eyes through your game's ending."

Adam's comment got a lot of hate on the forum from the players. After reading all the hate comments Adam smirked and put his phone away.

He saw that the girl had climaxed jumping on her own and was now laying on his chest taking heavy breaths. Sadly for Adam, he wasn't even close to a climax that entire time as he was too hung up on the ending of the game.

While Adam was looking at the girl laying on his chest listlessly as he thought about the ending he was pulled out of his train of thought by the sudden appearance of a holographic window right in front of him.

" So you think that my ending was terrible?

You think a toddler could make a better

ending than me? "

"What the f*ck is tha-" before Adam could even finish his sentence the window appeared again.

"Since you're so passionate about the Game and it's ending. Let me give you an express ticket to the place where you could decide what sort of ending would be better."

While Adam was lost in his thoughts trying to process the message on the window he felt a tremeandous amount of pain on his chest and was pulled out of his thoughts.

It turns out that the woman that layed on his chest had just plunged a knife into his chest.

With an enraged voice she said " 2 years ago, after that wonderful night we had, you ghosted me and blocked me. How could you do something like that to me?"

It turns out that our Villai-, I mean hero accidentally ended up sleeping with the same girl he ditched 2 years ago without even knowing that it was the same girl.

It's truly fascinating how little he cared about anything but himself.

'Wait so you're telling me I already slept with this chick 2 years ago and this is how she gets revenge for me dumping her?'

As the narrator I would once again like to emphasize how amazing it is that even with a knife in his chest while he slowly bleeds to death, he has time for such thoughts.

Regardless of what the girl's motivation was for trying to kill him, Adam didn't care.

The opponent had played their hand, now it was his turn.

"Honey, do you think these muscles are just for show?" As soon as Adam said this with an evil smirk he quickly put his hands on the woman's face and snapped her neck in one swift motion, killing her.

Her lifeless body laid on his chest, the knife still embedded in it. The reason why Adam made such a swift judgement to kill her was because only the dimwitted let the people who wanted to kill them, live.

Adam didn't care about the consequences of killing her either. It's not like he was going to survive this anyway.

He could slowly feel the energy leaving his body, feeling dizzy as his vision got blurrier and blurrier with each passing second.

And just like that our playboy had passed away.

And funnily enough... he still couldn't remember that woman's name.
