Seeing the system window, dealing with the taunts from the system, processing all the information from the system and comprehending everything on the quest window, all of these actions only took 1 second in real time.
This is how overpowered the [CALCULATOR] skill was.
"Cassandra this twerp sure is taking his sweet time staring at your feet. How about I whack him to bring him back to his senses?"
The 2nd voice came from the gorilla masquerading as a human who stood besides the entrance to this private room which Adam was in.
The name of the gorilla was Isaac Lin Evergreen.
The eldest son of Marquis Evergreen and the childhood friend of Cassandra.
He had huge 6'11 body that was thick like a gorilla. He was a tank type character that acts as a mini boss and acts as the final line of defence before the final confrontation between the protagonist Jake Kennedy and the villainess Cassandra Ein Yenalova in the latter half of the game's story.
Ofcourse, even though he was just a mini boss in the future. In terms of combat ability he was leagues ahead of Adam.
"I don't know Isaac, maybe if I crush that very special part of his body that he is thinking from right now, then he will finally know his place."
Cassandra was running out of patience.
It was time for Adam to make his move.
Still knelt down, Adam gives a back handed slap to the foot that she had brought forward.
Due to the sudden slap, Cassandra lost her balance and fell off the chair she sat on.
It wasn't that the slap itself was strong, but the fact that Adam's action against her had shocked her to her core, which made her fall off balance.
Right after Cassandra fell off her chair, Adam stood up and moved towards the entrance of the room.
"Who the f*ck do you think you are treating her like that?" This sound came from the gorilla.
With all that fat in his mouth it's really hard to tell what he is saying sometimes.
Regardless of how angry Isaac was Adam had already calculated isaac's aggression into his simulation.
As Isaac rushed towards Adam with blind rage, Adam just stood there with an uninterested look on his face. As If Isaac's aggression bored him.
What Isaac didn't realise was that Adam was waiting for the perfect moment to play his next move.
As soon as the front half of Isaac's left foot touched the edge of the carpet in the room that Adam stood on, Adam used the friction between his boots and the carpet to pull the carpet towards him at the exact moment Isaac's foot touched the carpet.
Isaac's momentum worked against him and he slipped and fell backwards.
He hit the back of his head on the floor as he fell giving him a minor concussion.
After doing so Adam slowly walked towards the door as he approached Isaac's body that laid in between him and the doorway.
As soon as Adam stood in front of Isaac's hand as he laid on the floor, Adam chose to add insult to injury.
Stats are one thing. But 90kgs crushing someone's fingers is another. Adam jumped from where he stood and used his entire body weight to land on Isaac's fingers on his right hand at the perfect angle to ensure that Adam's metal soles on his shoes would crush his fingers.
And just like that, a painful gorilla scream was heard.
'It's crazy how similar gorilla screams are to human screams. Almost as if they are our ancestors.' Adam thought to himself and chuckled inwardly.
As Adam finally reached the door, he looked back at Cassandra who had regained her composure but was still shocked at the scene that was at play in front of her.
The loser she always treated like sh*t had completely dominated and beaten her childhood friend, renowned for his prowess among his peers with just 2 simple actions.
Adam stared daggers at Cassandra and said
"Today's humiliation will be paid back in double tomorrow." And just like that Adam left the room.
Cassandra was speechless. She couldn't say anything back she couldn't even say anything in return.
She had never seen this side of Adam.
To her Adam was nothing more than a loser in heat who was a slave to her beauty ready to humiliate himself whenever she wanted him to.
Obviously, Cassandra enjoyed humiliating Adam as well. That's why she kept him around. He was nothing more than a toy to her.
She knew that even if Adam started to dislike her, he couldn't do anything about it.
Because Adam was nothing more than a pawn to his father now that Adam's mother had passed away years ago and Adam's only job was to be engaged with Cassandra to strengthen his bonds with Duke Yelanova.
Anyone who knew the truth about the relationship between Adam and his father would know that Count Dacre treated his middle son like sh*t.
But since all of this was true, what caused him to act against her today?
As she got deeper and deeper into this train of thought, her curiosity ate up all of her will to snitch on Adam and the disrespect he had shown her today. All she could think of was what Adam planned to do next after threatening her.
She then looked at her partner in crime laying on the ground quivering in pain holding his hand and crying for help.
'This guy I have known since I was little is acting so pathetic right now. Got beaten up by a loser half his size and is now begging for help on the ground crying.'
"So even someone like Adam can have a manly side..." she mumbled to herself and after a while left the room. Leaving Isaac inside still crying and begging for help.
As soon as Adam made it out of that suffocating private room he made his way to the main hall of the estate by asking around the maids which looked confused at his questions since they had seen him roam around the estate on his own multiple times in the past.
Regardless of their internal conflicts, not wanting to anger the noble they told him the directions to the main hall.
As Adam made his way to the main hall and opened the door, he finally realised where he was.
He was at the estate of Duke Yenalova, where all the nobles of the empire were invited to for a gathering of the nobles.
This gathering took place a month before the main cast joined the Marketh academy.
He made his way through all the nobles in the hall each sitting on their designated tables and made his way to Count Dacre.
He approached him and said
"Father I will be going back to the estate earlier than planned."
"Why do you want to go back earlier? I'm sure you would prefer spending more time with Lady Yenalova. And besides the gathering is lasting for another 3 days."
"Father if I stay even a second longer at this venue I fear I might puke out what I have been holding in and it would besmirch our family's name."
After Adam said something shameless like that, normally the Count would have let Adam do as he pleased but Adam had to stay here throughout all the gatherings for the Count's plan to boost his influence to work .
"Adam then just puke in the washroom and come back. There is no reason to take such a drastic measure over some stomach issues."
"Father I am sick. The academy entrance exam is only a month away. It would be shameful to the family if I were to get a low rank due to my health."
This was a straight threat to the Count's reputation from Adam.
If Adam were to perform poorly or make a fool of himself in the academy the nobles would question and demean the Count over the engagement of someone of as high a stature as Cassandra with someone as lowly as Adam.
"Fine, you can go. But since you're going to be taking a lot of time to rest and recuperate, you better get at least in the top 50 of the ranking in the entrance exam. Otherwise, be ready to face the consequences."
This was Count Dacre in his truest essence. Taking a loss at one place and then trying his best to make a profit some place else.
He could never stand the idea of ever being on the losing side of any situation.
To him, the only sons that mattered to him was the eldest son David and the youngest son Theodore.
He only cared for Adam as long as his 2nd wife Hannah Alastair was alive.
After her death Adam was nothing more than a liability, dead weight that the Count had no use for. The least that loser son of his could do was benefit the family through a political marriage.
After the exchange, Adam made his way out of the hall and made his way to his personal carriage.
As soon as he sat in the carriage, he told the driver "Get me back home."
And so the carriage started moving.
As the carriage reached a little distance away from the duke's estate, Adam saw a familiar holographic window, the contents of which put a smile on his face.
