Chapter 14 - Shocking Result

Magnus and Savra were now walking toward Lucius' room to see his current progress. Magnus then immediately looked at his mother and asked something.

"Mother, what stage do you think Lucius is in right now? You've seen how Evolists worked before so you know their processes better than I do."

Savra then answered Magnus' question while explaining it a bit. "If he is a genuine Evolist, then he should still be in the preparation phase. Checking the beast and the materials is always the first step."

Magnus, who heard it, frowned a bit as he thought. "Checking? Isn't the process for evolving a beast just to evolve the beast? Don't Evolists have a recipe or formula for these things?"

Savra, who heard it, only smirked and said, "It's not as simple as following a recipe and evolving a beast by giving it some materials. There were some steps."

Savra then began to explain it more to him: "Not all of the beasts are the same, even though they are the same species. Their body and potential are different. Materials also have some differences, as qualities in them."

Savra then concluded it all into one simple sentence: "A skilled Evolist needs to know what materials fit the best for the beast to let the perfect evolution."

Magnus, who heard it, began to understand the reason why these Evolists were arrogant, as their jobs were pretty hard. "I see. So you're saying even if Lucius is competent, he's probably still in the checking stage. That would explain why it's taking time."

Savra then nodded as she said something about Lucius: "A perfect evolution is a hard process so you can see that as the reason why Evolists are rather arrogant. The fact that Lucius hasn't asked for assistance suggests he's either confident or... overconfident."

Magnus smirked upon hearing what Savra said: "Overconfidence can be dangerous, but in this case, I'm curious. If Lucius truly knows what he's doing, then he's worth far more than we initially thought. And if he is not, then we'll deal with him accordingly."

Savra only nodded after he heard what Magnus said: "Let's see what he's accomplished. If he's still checking the materials, we'll gauge his methods. But if he's moved beyond that..."

"Then we might have found someone exceptional that will contribute to the raising of our family," continued Magnus, who was now excited while going to Lucius' room.

---

Magnus and Savra then arrived at Lucius room and immediately entered and the moment they entered, they were shocked at what they were seeing.

Lucius casually sat on a chair while grilling some meat that he asked for from the maids. But what shocked them the most was the thing that Lucius used as a griller.

Lucius was actually using Magnus' Lava Turtle's shell as a griller to grill his meat and this was what shocked them the most.

Magnus, who was now seeing this situation immediately, became angry as he shouted, "Damn you, Lucius! What the hell are you doing to my Lava Turtle?!"

Lucius, who was still grilling his meat, only smiled and answered, "Grilling beast meat. Want some? It's quite tender and also tastes the best after being grilled here."

Magnus, who heard it, became even angrier and was about to go and kill Lucius but he was soon stopped by Savra as she slapped the back of his head. "Magnus! Control yourself!"

Magnus, who was hit, fell down and turned back to his mother; he didn't know why she did that. "Mother! Are you serious? Look at what he's doing to my Lava Turtle! It's supposed to be evolving, not..."

Savra, who heard Magnus immediately angry, said to him, "Stop for a minute and look at your beast properly, you fool!"

Magnus could only obey and immediately looked back at his Lava Turtle, but when he looked at it carefully, he was surprised to see that it was different than his Lava Turtle.

This one was bigger and also emitted more heat than usual. Its aura was also stronger than his Lava Turtle. The point was that this one was better than his.

"What the hell... is this my Lava Turtle?" Magnus said as he still could not believe his eyes when seeing his Lava Turtle change so much.

Savra, who had calmed down a bit, then immediately said to Magnus, "Of course it is. Can't you feel your connection to it?"

Magnus could only do what his mother told her. He then immediately began to sense his connection to his tamed beast and was surprised by it. "It's my beast, but... how did this happen? It doesn't even look the same!"

Savra, who heard it, immediately turned to Lucius, who was still casually grilling a piece of meat while she and Magnus debated, "Lucius, just what have you done to the Lava Turtle?"

Lucius didn't bother looking up as he was still eating his meat, but still he answered, "I evolved it, of course. You can see just how different it is from before. Isn't it obvious?"

Savra, who heard it, was still confused about what the hell was going on and asked again, "Aren't evolutions supposed to take two to three days, at the very least?"

Lucius, who was still eating, was choked the moment he heard it. After drinking some water, he then looked at Savra and said, "Two to three days? Who told you that nonsense?"

Savra, who still didn't know what was going on, then said, "That's the standard, Lucius. Every Evolist we've worked with has required that much time."

Lucius then asked again after hearing a new fact about Evolists, "Just what the hell are they doing for two and three days?"

Savra then began to explain what they did: "They usually inspect the beast's condition, assess the materials, and prepare the evolution process carefully. It's how it's always been done."

Lucius froze for a moment after hearing it and immediately asked to confirm it again, "Are you telling me that all the Evolists you've dealt with actually take two to three days to complete a single evolution?"

Savra, who heard it, was a bit confused and immediately answered, "Yes. That's how the process is handled. Does that surprise you?"

Lucius was now in disbelief after hearing it. "Of course, it surprises me. Just what the hell is wrong with those people?" Lucius said while still in shock.
