When Chu Wuyao and the other two landed inside the mansion, they were faced with a dark creepy room.
There were exquisite furniture made out of precious wood all over the room, while the walls were covered in colorful paintings.
The issue is that most of these paintings were extremely strange and would send shivers down the spine of an ordinary person.
For example, the painting that Chu Wuyao was currently looking at depicted a naked woman that lay charmingly at the center of a green lake, proudly showing her private parts, but instead of hair, there were countless tiny green snakes on her head.
These snakes dangled around in the air and made a hissing expression towards the viewer.
Every line of the painting was chaotic, as if the painter that drew it had gone completely crazy.
Just by staring at it, Chu Wuyao had the illusion that her consciousness was becoming chaotic.
Thankfully, with prior experience, she quickly recovered and turned her head away.
Glancing at Xia Qianyue and Chu Xu who were still immersed in the paintings, she pondered whether to wake them up.
But just then, the sound of footsteps came from outside the room.
The next second, the door opened slowly and a male servant walked in.
When the servant saw three strange, unknown visitors, he was stunned and wanted to scream for help.
Fortunately, Chu Wuyao had been prepared and her figure disappeared briefly, before appearing behind him and hitting him on the back of the head.
With his mouth still open, the male servant lost consciousness without being able to make the slightest sound.
Closing the open door, Chu Wuyao dragged him inside the room and turned her attention to Xia Qianyue and Chu Xu.
"Wake up!", she spoke in a low voice and slapped them on the shoulder.
Hearing her voice and feeling the pain on their shoulders, the pair quickly recovered, but a hint of chaotic meaning remained in their eyes.
"I didn't expect that this place would be so evil."
"It seems that the City Lord has long turned into an evil cultivator.", Chu Xu whispered.
Chu Wuyao nodded in agreement and pointed at the male servant that lay on the ground.
"I knocked this guy unconscious to see if we can get some information out of him."
"Do you have any way to make him speak?", she asked.
"Don't worry. I'm an expert at this.", Xia Qianyue smiled and patted her chest, making it bounce.
With a thought, her right hand glowed with a green light that fell on the servant, waking him up and allowing him to open his eyes.
Just as he was about to scream, Xia Qianyue's eyes shone with a brilliant golden light.
The servant's eyes reflected this majestic light and his fearful expression disappeared, turning into calmness.
Then, tears started flowing out of his eyes and his expression turned that of remorse.
"Forgive me! Please forgive me!"
"I repent! I shouldn't have covered up the City Lord's actions!"
"I'm guilty! I'm guilty!"
The servant spoke while crying loudly and started banging his head on the floor to show repentance.
Even when a huge wound appeared on his forehead and blood flowed out, his actions never stopped.
"Shh... It's okay..."
"Just tell us what is going on and we'll help you...", Xia Qianyue comforted him gently.
"Really? Can you really help me?", the man raised his head and looked at her with hopeful eyes.
"Of course. We are righteous cultivators. It is our duty to help people.", Xia Qianyue confirmed.
"Thank you girl! Thank you!"
"It all started about a year ago when the Lord started...", the servant started talking endlessly, explaining what had happened, including every single detail whether it was helpful or not.
On the side, when Chu Wuyao looked at this creepy scene, she felt a little cold.
From the servant's actions, it was obvious that he was feeling extremely guilty about everything that he had done and wanted to make up for it, as if he had suddenly achieved enlightenment.
But how could such a thing happen out of nowhere?
"This is the Holy Saving skill. It can help people who are evil recognize the harm of their actions and repent."
"From then on, they will recognize their true selves and no longer bring harm to the people."
"Of course, it works so well because this servant is only a mortal. If he was a cultivator, it would have taken hours if not days to save him."
Chu Xu saw Chu Wuyao's eyes and thought that she was just curious because she had never seen this skill before, so he explained.
But Chu Xu's explanation didn't relieve Chu Wuyao's worries at all.
"Sure enough, the so-called righteous cultivators are just lies."
"This is clearly an enslavement skill, but it is described as if it is a holy skill made to save the world."
She once again lamented about the cruelty of this world.
The so-called righteous cultivators are clearly using enslavement skills without feeling anything wrong about it.
At the same time, Chu Wuyao felt that she should try to find such skills to learn in the future.
It had not been a long time since she had started cultivating, meaning that she lacked niche skills like this that could be useful in some unexpected situations.
Time passed by slowly and a few minutes later, the servant lost consciousness again while Xia Qianyue stood up and patted her hands.
"I've gotten some useful information out of him.", she said and reiterated what she had learned.
According to the servant, the City Lord started to show changes about a year ago and from then on, had become especially prone to mental outbreaks.
Moreover, around the same time, a few servants or maids went missing in the mansion, spreading fear to everyone.
A few servants were so scared that they wanted to resign, only for Li Zhengyu to kill them on the spot and dispose of their bodies as if they were trash.
From then on, no matter what changes happened to Li Zhengyu or in the mansion, none of the maids and servants dared to spread word about it.
"Then, we can basically be sure that Li Zhengyu is the evil cultivator we're looking for."
"He must have somehow gotten the inheritance of the Blood God Palace and was influenced by its techniques, becoming bloodthirsty and killing people."
Chu Xu had basically understood the whole story and even if this wasn't 100% accurate, it should still be close to it.
"Do you know where we can find Li Zhengyu?", Chu Wuyao asked the question she was most concerned about.
The City Lord's mansion was massive and if they had to search for Li Zhengyu, it was very likely that they would be spotted.
It was okay if Li Zhengyu was alone, but if he had any accomplices, they would fall into danger.
"The servant said that Li Zhengyu spends most of his free time in the study room.", Xia Qianyue answered.
"I've already asked for directions. Follow me.", she spoke and opened the door before walking out.
Chu Xu followed behind her but Chu Wuyao didn't leave this place immediately.
After she made sure that they had left and could not sense what was happening in the room, Chu Wuyao looked at the servant on the ground and stepped closer.
Kneeling down next to him, her right hand penetrated the left side of his chest, and her palm clutched the man's heart.
"Boom!"
With a little force, she gently squeezed on it, causing it to burst and killing the man instantly.
Taking her hand back and glancing at her nails that had turned red from all the blood, she took out a handkerchief and wiped it away, as she looked at the prompt in front of her and smiled.

After she kicked the corpse away, Chu Wuyao hurried after the two fellow disciples.
She had a hunch that today's trip would allow her to greatly increase her strength.
When she thought of this, her gray eyes flashed with a crimson color.
"I also want to be a good person but everyone is forcing me. Why? Why are you forcing me?", Chu Wuyao's voice resounded in the dark corridor.
