The Waterflower City is located at the north side of the Original Mountain and mortals would need to spend more than a week to travel this distance.
The Waterflower City wasn't very big, with only a population of about twenty thousand or so people.
The vast majority of these people were mortals, with only a few cultivators hidden among them.
These cultivators were mostly at the Early Stage of Qi Accumulation and had basically given up on their future dreams, choosing to stay in the city and play among the mortals.
With their strength, they were able to live a relatively carefree life, provided that no passing cultivator decided to slaughter the entire city.
At this time, one of the most famous taverns of the city was very crowded and behind every table sat a person, or a group of friends.
The customers were either wolfing down the food on their plates or drinking alcohol and chatted loudly with each other.
Among this crowd, a beautiful woman stood out, sitting at a table at the corner of the tavern and sipping tea.
From her clothes and her appearance, it was obvious to the people around her that she was born in a wealthy family and while most of them took a few glances, they didn't dare to come forward and chat.
None of them knew that the woman was the disciple of an evil sect, Chu Wuyao.
As a cultivator, Chu Wuyao didn't care about mortals' looks and completely ignored them.
Three days had passed since she killed the spider monster in the village and obtained the golden stone tablet.
After various tests, she couldn't find the tablet's uses and only knew that it stayed inside the place where her soul resided.
With no way to investigate any further, she could only choose to leave the village and continue her journey.
Over the past few days, she had spent most of the day on the road, until she reached her final destination: the Waterflower City.
Fortunately, there was no other accident on the road and her journey was actually very boring, but safe.
At the moment, Chu Wuyao's eyes were slightly dazed, as she looked at the system prompts and then brought up the system panel.
[You killed a spider monster. Sin Points +30]
[You killed a bunch of monster cubs. Sin Points +5]
[Name: Chu Wuyao]
[Cultivation: 3rd Level of Qi Accumulation(8/40)]
[Techniques: Original Desire Sutra(3/100), Blood Demon Body - 5(44/80)]
[Skills: Charm -2(4/20), Fog of Hallucination -3(3/30), Illusion Eyes -2(5/20), Heart Seal -2(0/20), High-Speed Recovery(9/10)]
[Sin Points: 35]
"I wish the system panel was a little more intuitive.", Chu Wuyao sighed as she stared at the panel that was becoming more and more complicated.
To her surprise, the moment this thought emerged, the whole system panel shook and flickered for a few seconds, before turning back into normal.
But this time, the panel was completely different.
[Name: Chu Wuyao]
[Cultivation: 3rd Level of Qi Accumulation(8/40)]
[Blood Demon Body: 4th Level(44/80) - Equivalent to the 4th Level of Qi Accumulation]
[Techniques: Original Desire Sutra(3/100)]
[Skills: Charm(12/300), Fog of Hallucination(33/600), Illusion Eyes(15/450), Heart Seal(10/1000), High-Speed Recovery(9/400)]
[Sin Points: 35]
Going over the panel, Chu Wuyao discovered that the Blood Demon Body had disappeared from the [Techniques] column and moved to its new, own column, while the proficiency behind the skills had completely changed.
Chu Wuyao didn't expect that she could actually change the panel with her thoughts.
"It seems that the panel is not as mechanical as I thought.", she whispered and her attention turned to the [Skills] column.
From the panel's change, this was the change that Chu Wuyao was most happy about.
The skills were no longer divided into different levels and the panel showed the total proficiency needed for each skill.
Chu Wuyao understood that as long as the proficiency of a skill was completely filled, she would have practiced that skill to perfection.
Her mind wandered and she was reminded of the fact that she had received a prompt stating the conditions required to unlock the Devil Race.
With a thought of her mind, a long-forgotten flashing prompt appeared in her field of vision.
[Conditions to unlock the Devil Race:]
[1. Kill 100 creatures of the same race(26/100)]
[2. Train your physical body to be stronger than your cultivation(1/1)]
[3. Practice a skill to perfection(0/1)]
Even though she hadn't deliberately focused on completing these three conditions, she had unknowingly made considerable progress.
Even the first condition, which she originally thought would be the hardest to complete was more than 1/4 completed.
While Chu Wuyao was lost in thought, a strange visitor entered the crowded tavern.
It was a thin young man, that looked malnourished and had dirt all over his face.
The thin man looked around and when he saw a man sitting on a table, his eyes shone with brilliance.
"Big Brother Yi! Big Brother Yi!", he ran towards the man and shouted.
On the table, a rough, burly man was sitting, surrounded by his underlings.
Hearing the thin man's voice, he hit the table with a chug filled with wine and looked at him with some contempt.
"Gu Erwu, what's so important that you need to interrupt my meal?"
Under his sharp gaze, Gu Erwu was a little nervous, but he mustered up his courage and spoke loudly.
"Big Brother Yi, didn't you promise me that you'll make me your subordinate as long as I convinced my sister to sleep with you?", he bowed his head and his voice contained a hint of anticipation.
Despite the noise in the tavern, Gu Erwu's voice was quite loud and reached everyone's ears.
Silence spread throughout the tavern and everyone stopped talking, wanting to hear the rest of their conversation.
Seeing his respectful look, the contempt in Big Brother Yi's eyes became even more obvious.
But then, he thought of something.
"Don't you also have a mother? I promise you that as long as you convince her too, you can come become my subordinate and work under me."
"Hahahaha!"
The customers around could no longer hold back and broke into loud laughter.
In Gu Erwu's ears, this laughter was filled with mockery and disdain, causing his expression to darken and his fists to clench.
"Big Brother Yi, do you really want to go back to your word?"
"Aren't you afraid that people in the city will no longer take your words seriously?", he gritted his teeth and raised his head, staring straight into the rough man's eyes.
Big Brother Yi's eyes turned sharp and he stood up from the table, his big muscles twitching as he moved.
"Are you threatening me?", he asked in a low voice.
At any other time, Gu Erwu would have never dared to oppose the rough man, but now that he sensed everyone's ridicule, he couldn't bear it.
His courage surged, he puffed his chest and spoke in a majestic voice.
"No, I'm just saying the truth."
"I believe that you won't make such a mistake."
"As long as yo-"
"Boom!"
Before he could finish these words, Gu Erwu's body flew across the room and reached the door, breaking it into pieces
He coughed out blood and and teeth flew out of his mouth, as he felt that even breathing had become extremely painful.
Before his consciousness went dark, at the very last moment, he saw a woman with brown hair tied into a ponytail running towards him with concerned expression.
