Some of the dirt I had thrown into the air earlier settled on the dagger and also his body. A slight smile forms on my lips, I recover the dagger again and tucked it behind me before applying pressure on to the bullet wound.
"Ha...ha, I feel lightheaded",
Each step feels much heavier than the last one, I limp for sometime until I finally drop to the ground. Funny thing right now is that I took every single one of them down yet I . must go down as well.
"Funny how the world works",
I chuckle to myself, I stare into the sky and all I can see is the shadowy sky even though the last time I checked the time it was 7:09 am...
It does not matter really, all my questions will be answered when I see him again.
"I must find him",
I can not stop myself from moving just yet, I must fulfill my promise. I force myself up heavily holding the injured shoulder that won't be of use anymore. I only take two steps before the realization of hopelessness struck me to the core, I can't continue any longer. Admitting that I am pathetic and weak would not change the situation I am in right now. Survival is not for the fittest yhen again survival is not also about being the last one standing, it is about the first one to grab it.
There is a throbbing sensation in my right foot that urges me to arch my brows. A second ago I killed seven armed men which makes me no small fry but, I have a shoulder wound, a failing foot and one good eye. Aside from losing balance my speed is down as well and so as my attack patterns. I pause my movements as I stare ahead of me.
The path as suspected has no sign of life but I must still keep pushing forward. I continue to pass on the way maybe to find a hospital nearby to treat myself or someone to assist me, because truthfully saying my consciousness is waning with every passing minute. The next step makes me fall into my knees,
I don't think I can go any further than this anymore. I fall on the ground face first but unlike the last time I can not get up.
"When was the world like this?",
I asked inside my mind.
