Chapter 7 - Chapter 7: Broken

NARAM JOSHUA

..........

"Huff"

I release a stressed sigh to show just how much was also taken from me to patch her up. Cupping my face within my palms I sigh again before giving a passive look, just like how he said. This girl is a natural born killing machine but even so her current self pales in comparison to her future self, the one he showed me.

This girl now is still far from being close to her real mother, she is yet to be called complete and perfect. I observed the way she killed those guys and to my conclusion it was brutal however compared to the real her the current her is kind in some sense.

Getting up I pick up the backpack and leave the apartment not forgetting to leave behind something she can protect herself with in case when someone is stupid enough to break in.

I don't want to leave, no not now, but I must secure some clean clothes for her sake and also see if I can double the amount of supplies and improve the weaponry I have on us.

Outside the warm apartment the chilly breeze sends cold chills down my spine, that is how I sense an incoming form of trouble waiting for me out there somewhere. I strap the bag tightly around my shoulders then jump from the second floor to the ground level sprinting away unnoticed from the premises.

As I continue to run my mind begins to create routes that will guarantee not less than a 75% safe route to a mall or some kind of a conviniet store that is some minutes away from here. The streets are deserted and as usual my instincts tell me not to believe in this illusion.

There is always someone out there ready to pull the trigger in your direction not caring about anything. About three minutes of running I stop at the sound of screams coming from an alley on my left, swiftly I produce out a pocket knife of my own, ready to confront them or whoever it is.

"Ahhh,please help us!!",

The scream promts me to enter the alley only to see the sight of a man with a gun in his left hand, his eyes lustfully search around the figure of two ladies who are trapped because of a wall behind them. I only think of them as ladies since their face and also their clothes indicate a slightly higher age than mine.

I spring in-between them, earning gasps of shock from the ladies and a groan which suggests clear annoyance from the man.

"Tsk",

I hear his tongue click loud and clear. I feel him cursing under his breath without any word of exchange between us. I sprint directly at him, in panic he shoots and I shocked to see him miss at such a close distance.

"What a rotten shit",

I said silently but loud enough for him to catch on that, without remorse the knife tears through his flesh at the side of his chest area missing his heart by a tiny margin. He tries to free himself but the physical strength comparison between us is somehow on a par.

"Shit",

I uttered inside my thoughts at the sudden realization of a minor miscalculation, the gun is still in his firm grasp. The gun off but not at me, the bullet skim pass my ear as it heads for one of the ladies(more specifically) the on e onthe left side.

Everything seemed to come to a stop as a hateful memory from my college days slip from unforseen cracks. Two words that damned bastard said on the eve of his death day that enraged me. Through the coner of my left eye the other try to cover the other with her body but as the the saying goes"

"Like as though the world is playing a trick on us",

Instead of the bullet hitting one target...both are peirced through with ease as their bodies fall to the ground. In a fast motion I twist the blade inside him making him shriek like a wounded beast. I extract the knife from his chest, the knife is soo bloodied that I can't even see the cold glint of steel anymore.

His blood gush out out yet he is still on his feet even though wounded and weak. With the right foot I kick his left shin away causing him to drop down on this right knee. The gun is still in his hand I can tell he is out of bullets to use it anymore.
