His expression hardened, but I wasn't finished.
"I get it," I continued, shrugging bitterly. "By rights, you're supposed to trust the person who's been with you the longest. But you could've at least given me the benefit of the doubt. Asked for my side of the story before jumping to conclusions. I don't deserve to be heard? I am just another one of your lackey,"
"I did ask you," he argued, his tone clipped. "And you refused to talk."
I snapped then, my anger coming back. "You asked me after accusing me of being reckless and screwing everything up! Did you even stop to think for a second that those two idiotic alphas had something against me? After I humiliated them when they came to your office and their ego got bruised.
