When I grabbed two 9mm pistols in my hands and set two boxes of ammunition along with a third pistol on the ground, the goblins looked at me, astonished. Everything had suddenly appeared out of thin air.
The goblin chief was the first to question me about the weapons.
"These are firearms. I want you to use these to fight the wolves."
"Firearms? What are they?"
"I can't explain it. I'll show you."
I placed one of the pistols on the ground and grabbed some ammunition from one of the boxes. I put a few rounds in my pocket and loaded the pistol's magazine. It held 12 rounds in total.
'I've never fired a gun, but I think I'll do ok.'
This pistol is a 9mm Glock, so I know how to do this.
I unlocked the safety and pulled the slide back. The pistol made a sound, and I knew it was ready to fire. I walked past the goblins and headed outside the tent. The chief followed close behind.
As soon as I was out, I aimed at a tree in the distance. Using just one hand, I fired a single shot.
Bang!
The bullet struck the tree, splintering part of its trunk.
All the goblins covered their ears because of the noise.
"What the hell was that?!" the chief asked.
"That's how you'll kill those wolves. Just one of these bullets should be enough to take them down. Aim for the head—a single, fatal shot."
"We can't use these things!" one of the goblin warriors protested. "Do you think we'll use something this dirty and loud?!"
"If you don't, you'll die. I'm just trying to help you."
"You're only helping us to make us your slaves! What's your real plan? You can kill us if you want!"
The goblin warrior raised his sword toward me, and I lost my patience.
I stared at him and sighed.
"Listen here, you little worm," I said as my appearance changed. The pistol dropped from my hand.
My body started to grow, and the goblins scattered in fear.
I revealed my dragon form to them.
My appearance isn't like Veldora's. My scales are much darker, and my eyes are red. The goblin in front of me began to tremble violently.
Not just him—all of them did.
"If you say one more word, I'll eat you alive. Just accept my help before I kill every one of you. I only offered my help because I thought forcing you to work for me would be wrong, but I'm starting to reconsider."
If these guys keep testing my patience, I might control them through fear.
"…" The goblin dropped his sword and fell to his knees.
He lowered his head, touching his forehead to the ground.
"I'm sorry. I won't do it again. I acted recklessly because I thought you were someone who couldn't be trusted. I'll follow you from now on."
Even without wanting to rule them by fear, that's what happened.
All the goblins began to bow to me.
I let out a long sigh and returned to my human form.
I picked up the gun from the ground and aimed it at the goblin who had disrespected me earlier. When he saw the gun pointed at him, he started to sweat, but he didn't say a word. He didn't even beg for his life.
Then, I pulled the trigger.
The chief was close to stopping me.
"Just kidding." The gun, still locked, didn't fire. "Now, shall we get ready to welcome our furry friends?"
The goblin wet himself.

It was nighttime. The wolves could attack at any moment. 'I want to find Ranga. I need him by my side, just like Rimuru.'
But I won't be able to give him a name for now.
"Have you detected any monsters' presence?" I asked the goblin chief.
We were alone inside the tent.
"No, not yet. We're unsure if they gave up the attack or they're being cautious."
"Hmmm… I'm getting a bit impatient."
"What do you plan to do?"
"I'm going after those wolves on my own."
"But you gave us those weapons to kill them."
"Keep them with you, in case any of them escape me. I'll be back soon." I transformed into an owl in front of the goblin chief.
"What the hell is that?"
"Don't say anything and stay on alert."
Despite my appearance changing, I could still speak normally.
"Alright." The chief nodded, and I flew out of the tent. I began flying around the surrounding areas. An owl's vision is perfect for this kind of situation. I flew slowly, scanning everything around me.
With my excellent range of vision, I quickly located the enemies.
There were just over ten wolves.
"Which one is Ranga? It's the one leading the group, right?" He was a slightly larger wolf, commanding the pack. Now that I'd marked Ranga, I think I can take down the others.
I transformed into an eagle while still in the air and dove toward the ground.
My talons slashed a wolf's neck, causing a deep wound. The wolf began to thrash as his companions panicked.
I hid among the trees and transformed back into an owl.
'They don't know where I am; I should use this to my advantage.'
I flew up into the skies again. After that, I turned into an eagle and made another dive toward the wolf pack.
However, this time, I was noticed.
The wolf dodged my attack, and all the wolves jumped toward me at once to stop me from flying away.
But I changed forms, transforming into a massive rhinoceros that could withstand the bites of all of them.
They started to panic.
