Chapter 12 - Chapter 12 - Ranga.

With my large, resilient body, I started to trample all the wolves in my path. They were screaming in desperation as I crushed them underfoot, turning them into corpses.

After a few seconds, the wolves withdrew, and I finally returned to my human form.

Four wolves remained alive.

One of them is Ranga, of course. Though he didn't have that name yet. Ranga was hiding behind the other three wolves, trying to shield himself.

He looked at me with hatred; he wanted to kill me at any cost.

'I can't see very well. I might end up being caught off guard.' It's annoying that I'm half-dragon and can't see well in the dark.

I should be a powerful being—what a fucking joke!

Tsk!

I clicked my tongue and ran toward the wolves.

I arrived in front of them instantly. I grab the heads of two wolves. They didn't have time to react as I crushed their skulls, making their heads explode with my bare hands. I did it all while locking eyes with Ranga.

'I didn't even need to use my metamorphosis for this.'

The bodies of the two wolves fell lifelessly, and the third tried to bite me. I spun and kicked him, sending him crashing into Ranga. They rolled through the forest until they hit a tree.

I walked toward them slowly.

Ranga was terrified. His friend was nearly dead, and he wanted to escape. But I wouldn't let that happen.

"Listen, you. You're the biggest of them—are you the leader here?"

"Yes, I am!" I heard his voice in my head. "Let me go! I'll do whatever it takes. I'll go far away and won't bother anyone again."

He pushed his friend aside and lay down on the ground, bowing before me. Looking down, I could see Ranga nearly licking my feet.

What a pitiful sight.

"Listen, I don't want to kill you. I want you to stay by my side from now on. Understood?"

"How could I stay by your side? I'm not worthy of that!"

"Stop saying that nonsense. Don't act like a loser. Come with me—you'll be safe while you're with me. But your friend over there has to die."

Ranga looked at his friend and lamented.

I walked over to the nearly dead wolf and stomped on his head.

Splat!

His head exploded into pieces, and bits of his brain splattered onto Ranga's face. He started whining like a scared puppy. "Get up, let's go. Sorry if I was too brutal—I needed to deal with you guys to get help from the goblins."

"Help from the goblins?"

"Exactly. I need a lot of help to build my city. Of course, you'll be helping me, too."

"Build a city? In this place? Are you crazy?"

"Huh?"

"I'm sorry, forgive me!"

"It's fine… It is kind of crazy, after all. But I'm going to do it. Ranga, you're going to witness this city's birth and growth by my side."

"Ranga?"

"Oh, right, you don't have a name yet. From now on, your name will be Ranga," I told him.

I thought it would work like it did for Rimuru, but the system interfered.

[ Do you wish to name this monster "Ranga"? ]

[ 500 points will be spent. ]

[ Y/N ]

Seeing the cost, I gave up on the idea for now. It's too expensive, and I need to save points.

"Forget it. I won't give you a name for now."

"Hm?" Ranga tilted his head, confused.

I took Ranga to the goblin village, and as we approached, I heard someone cocking one of the Glocks. "It's me!" I shouted at the goblins, who were close to shooting at me.

"It's the human! Don't shoot."

"Don't call me human! Call me Mark!"

"It's Mark! Don't shoot!"

"Shut up, you idiot goblin."

"Wait, Mark, there's a wolf behind you!"

"Don't worry about him. I tamed him. He will work for me from now on, just like you guys. The others are already dead."

"What do you mean? Did you already kill all the other wolves?"

"Yes."

"Then what was the point of giving us these weapons and teaching us to use them?" the goblin shouted, throwing his gun to the ground. But as it hit the ground, it fired a single shot, hitting one of the goblins.

BANG!

GYAAAAA!

One of the goblins—a female—was hit in the leg and screamed in pain.

The goblin who had made that foolish mistake ran over to help her. I ignored him and, along with Ranga, headed to the goblin chief's tent. He was already preparing to leave, thinking the attack had started.

He was horrified when he saw Ranga.

"Don't worry about this wolf, he's working for me. The other wolves are dead. Ranga, you're going to stay here with the goblins and help them however they need. I'm going home now."

"Wait, you're leaving me here with them? They'll kill me!"

"You'll be fine. If you die, they'll all die, too." The chief looked at me in fear. He swallowed hard, and I smiled at him. "But I'm sure they won't do anything to you. Right?"

"Yes, don't worry; I'll talk to everyone. Thank you so much for helping us, Mark!"

"No need to thank me, Chief. Starting tomorrow, we're going to begin building my city. Be ready."

"A city? Tomorrow?"

"Exactly. Be prepared to work all day."

"But…"

"I'm leaving now."

I transformed into an owl again and flew away toward my home.

When I landed and returned to my human form, I went inside and locked the door before heading to my room.

'I need a shower…'

I opened the system to look for some items to buy. I need to find a way to take a shower.

"I've received more donations. I already have over 2,000 points. And that's from just one video! Should I post the video I recorded with Lindy?"

No, I think I'll post it tomorrow.

I closed the translucent screen and shut my eyes. Even though I wasn't very tired, I managed to fall asleep.
