Tye's expression hardened at the Duke's words.
"You're saying that you and your men encountered inhumans?"
"Yes. I witnessed it. Troops on reconnaissance witnessed it. All of which validated our finding:
"Man or not, Misk might be in grave danger. Which is why I ask again, are you sure of doing this? Won't you like company?"
Tye grinned.
"I'm strongest on my own."
"I've seen your types! They never returned! Boldness is one thing, foolishness is another!"
Tye nodded.
"Duke of this land, you have spoken wisely. There are dangers and, this might take time.
"The next time I come here, it would be to return your treasure. Otherwise I've been lost or killed."
The noble's eye brows furrowed as he listened to him.
"And due to the danger, time this will take, and running cost—"
"You'd like more money?!"
The corners of Tye's mouth went up.
"I'll do this for free."
The Duke's eyes widened.
"Why? Who can turn down such amount of money?"
Tye smiled.
"Sometimes, there are things that are worth more than money.
"When I locate and get your treasure, I will send a message to you.
"And I'd like you to give me in return, a referral. Anyone I can be of service to."
The noble calmed down, but still shocked.
"That's all you'd like? It is done!"
Tye said his greetings and set out for the mountain side of the South-eastern region.
As Tye exited the noble's building, he recalled some of Tye's last words to him after the greeting:
"I don't think your money is gone, fair noble."
"What do you mean?" he asked bewildered.
"Like I said, I've gone to places on my own from a young age and survived. Your money is in great shape.
"And it will return."
{Present moment}
"My money is fine? Who is this Tye?"
***
Just a moment ago, a dozen of people were engaged in battle with each other.
But the moment the travellers saw them and stopped, they too stopped.
Silence became deafening.
Raised dust settled.
And revealed the distorted figure of the men:
They were pale. Bloodshot eyes and thick black hair on heads.
The sight of this made the travellers stiffened and heart beat quickened.
Among these travellers were two doctors, named Lina and Yiss. And two adventurers to aid them.
"You doctors give us some space. We'll handle this."
One of the adventures said as they reached out for their bows.
But as crazy as the men looked, they didn't wait to be shot.
Six of them ran towards the adventurer's horses.
The adventurers fired their bows killing three, but three remained.
And bit the neck of the horses.
Killing them instantly.
In the process, the adventurers were scared to the point they didn't know when they fell off their horses.
Lina and Yiss tried running, but were surrounded by another six of the monstrous men.
The adventurers rushed to their feet and grasped the plan of the monsters.
"They want to immobilize us by taking our horses" one said.
"They're faster than the normal person, so running isn't an option—for any of us" replied the other.
"Who's running?" Lina asked with excitement and tossed two fist sized sacks to the men.
They looked at themselves wondering her plan.
But there's no time to think.
Only do.
Cause the enemy is closing in.
Lina threw one of the sacks to the ground and black smoke covered her, Yiss and the men.
"Doctors!—"
As the adventures were distracted, the monsters jumped on them.
They bit the shoulder of one of them.
"Aah!" he screamed at the top of his voice.
The other one filled with fear, he snatched the sacks from the ground and sent them hard onto the ground.
As a result, black smoke covered them all.
When it all settled.
Only Yiss, Lina and the adventures stood up.
The strange men were flat on the floor.
All of them.
"Are you doctors or witches?!"
An adventurer asked.
"We're not witches" Yiss said.
"Correct. Now, shall we continue?"
Both adventurers heart beat increased and were terrified.
For they were to aid and protect the doctors.
Yet, the deadly ones wasn't the monstrous men.
But the doctors themselves.
