The Agent's headquarters was a jaw-dropping establishment, everything from its exterior to the interior was breathtaking. Anyone who hasn't been there will never know that such a place existed in Gnoman, yet its people could barely afford to feed themselves.
As Arsenal and his partner were led through the hallway, he marveled at the architectural wonder, something he had never seen before. The luxury was top-notch, yet their technologies were limited because of their rank as Agents.
Arsenal also noticed that the Agents seemed to communicate with each other without saying a word, almost as if they could read each other's minds, and this got him worried. If the Agents could truly read their mind, then he had to keep his plans off his head else they would find out and he'd get into more trouble.
"Oh, they also have an elevator," He mumbled. For some strange reason, whenever he was in Gnoman, Arsenal was unintentionally comfortable. On earth, even calling his name with a hint of anger will cause his body to shake, he avoided fights by any means possible, but here, none of that matters.
Unlike most elevators, this one has a screen, where the Agent typed down the floor they wanted to go, and he typed the number "312"
Both Ohana and Arsenal gaze at each other simultaneously because they have the same thought. From the outside, this facility seemed to have barely ten floors, so where was the three-hundredth floor located?
As if that was not enough, they didn't feel the elevator move because just after the number was typed, the elevator door opened and somehow they were out, and on the three hundred and twelfth floor.
"Knock!"
The Agent's knuckles gently notified the occupant of their arrival, and immediately the door slid to the left to them into the General's office.
For the first time since his return, Arsenal swallowed hard as he was anxious to see the General. He pictured a tall muscular man with a fierce gaze and a terrifying aura.
But all of his expectations came crashing down when he saw an average man on a couch dressed in pajamas with a mug of brewing hot tea in his hand. He had scales on his skin just like the Agents, but it was a darker shade of green and was slightly more reflective.
The General saw them and placed his mug table before him. He closed the distance between them in blink of an eye and asked,
"You?"
"It's quite amusing that a child chose to die to save an entire region haha," He laughed and walked away, towards a drawer at the far end of the room.
"Are they not cowards? A child is their savior. This one can't even hurt a fly, let alone kill four Agent."
"Sir, he killed the Agents, sir. The boy speaks the truth." declared the Agent who had brought them in.
"This child?" The General paused and turned around abruptly,
"Killed four agents… alone? Well, I find that hard to believe."
"It is the truth, sir…
"And you are proudly saying it?" The General interjected with a frown.
While all of this was going on, Arsenal scanned the vicinity for the amulet. He noticed that the General wasn't wearing anything on his neck, nor was there anything hanging anywhere that looked like one, but he was convinced that it's somewhere in the room, but how does he find it?
"And the lady?" Asked the General.
"She was with him, sir." The Agent replied.
"Team effort, huh?" He smiled and took out a gun from the cabinet. He also took off a coat hanging on a rack to pick up the necklace underneath, and Arsenal's eyes widened in surprise
"Oh, there it is," Arsenal muttered, his eyes fixed on the stonelike pendant dangling from the General's neck as he put the necklace on. The amulet looked similar to the peice of rock that Ohana was holding when he saved her, but why?
"Bring them to me!" The General ordered, and the agents quickly pushed the both of them towards him, forcing them to fall on their knees.
"The Agents are ranked 7," Arsenal began talking to himself,
"Just like a police officers they don't have any magic, so strength was enough to deal with them, but I don't know so much about these Generals, and I don't have time to learn." Arsenal continue, oblivious to the fact that the General was pointing a gun at his head.
"Look at me!" The General's authoritative voice snapped him back to reality, and a shiver went down his spine as he stared into those swirling dark eyes.
"You see this?" The General showed him a transparent gun, loaded with tiny round bullets.
"This is not like anything you've ever seen before, it doesn't hurt a bit when you are shot, but the bullet kills you slowly from the inside."
"Ever heard of hypercoagulability?" He asked,
"Your blood gets thicker, and thicker until … you are no more."
"Kill me, and let her go," Arsenal spoke up, ignoring everything that the man has said.
"She has nothing to do with this." He added.
At first, Arsenal thought that Ohana would shut him out like she always did, but when he stole a glance at her, he couldn't help but notice how scared she was.
"If only you had listened to me." He scoffed and returned his gaze to the General.
"Is she your wife?" Asked the general,
"Why will I spare the wife and leave the husband, aren't the both of you one?"
"He is a talkative," Arsenal thought, but he quickly took advantage of it. If the General kept on talking, it would give him enough time to figure out how to save himself and Ohana.
Si he looked at the gun, and an idea crossed his mind on what to do. The only problem was that he didn't know how much coins would be require to properly execute this plot. It worked well for his strength, but will it be the same for all of them? If not, then he needed a plan B, however, the General didn't give him much time.
Arsenal was left with no choice but to trust his instincts on this one, yes, he was afraid, but at the moment, fear will do him no good.
"It was a pleasure meeting you, and I'm very sure that the people from your region will be happy to know that you gave your life to save them." the General concluded and without further ado, he shot the bullet at Arsenal's chest.
