Chapter 16 - //16// Perfect

Arsenal spent the rest of the evening sleeping, and this would have been such a good thing if he hadn't woken up at midnight and was unable to get back to sleep. Now he was wide awake scrolling through the school forum to see what they had to say about him, and he was right.

The entries forum was flooded with comments, from those who had seen him appear out of nowhere, and even the witnesses who were in the office when he had vanished. One of the school authorities also commented on the forum, warning the students not to spread misinformation until they investigate and understand what truly happened.

And as much as Arsenal felt bad for himself, seeing these comments made him, he somewhat happy. Within twenty-four hours he has became the most popular name on campus, now feared and shrouded in a mystery that no one could solve.

"Look on the bright side, Lisa has helped me achieve such greatness." He said, Arsenal's voice trailed off as the cup he kept on the table was knocked over and fell to the ground.

He was shocked, because the cup wasn't close to the edge of the table, so knocking it over will require a person to move it, but Arsenal was alone In the room and he didn't move it.

"That's strange," He uttered, unwilling to admit that he was slightly terrified. At first, he tried to ignore it and get back to scrolling through the forums, but then his eyes caught a glimpse of a shadow standing by the corner of the room just near the table he was startled.

Without hesitation, Arsenal hurled back on the bed as a shiver went down his spine. And even though the humanoid shadow was gone when he looked a second time, Arsenal remained in the same position with his eyes fixed on the table.

"System?" He called out,

"I don't think I am alone in my room."

[ Would you like me to enhance your vision to see beyond the physical? These attributes might be helpful if you intend to see ghosts or hidden doors and the likes, However, it costs 150 Aether coins to active ]

"I don't have that!"

[ You are on earth, your desired attributes are given to you without charge. But as long as you haven't activated them in Gnoman, it would not be active here]

"So?" Arsenal asked, his eyes scanning every corner of the room to ensure that the shadow wasn't close to him.

"How do I get it here?"

[ I could activate it for five minutes. But you, I will take something in return when we get back to Gnomon. Maybe not now, but sometimes in your quest]

At this point, Arsenal was confused. Trades like this never end well especially when the other party wouldn't reveal anything. Also, he wasn't sure if it was a good idea to open his eyes well enough to see spirits. This wasn't Gnomon where nothing really scares him.

[ What do you say]

"I am worried that you'll ask me for something I can't give in return."

[ I won't, I already knew that you were thinking about it ]

"No thanks," Arsenal shook his head from side to side, only to look up and see the figure right in front of him. At this point he couldn't help but freak out, running to the back of his bed until he stood in between the wall and the bed frame.

"Is everything okay?" Jonathan barged into the room wearing a worried look.

However, Arsenal couldn't respond, not because he was too shocked to speak, but because there had been a blackout and he had been transported to Gnomon.

"Thank you!" Arsenal exclaimed upon realising that he was no longer in his bedroom but back in the same prison as Ohana.

"Thank you? For what?" Ohana asked, a question mark was written all over her face because he had yet to answer her first question and now he was saying thanks.

"Nothing," Replied Arsenal,

"How long have we been here?"

"Not sure," she answered,

"Almost a whole day, but I still don't understand how we are alive. How did you do that? The bullets, I saw them on the floor, you never told me how you stopped them."

"Uhh."

Once again, Arsenal was lost for words, unable to fabricate the lie that was suitable for the occasion. And just then, the system notification caught his attention.

[ New Task! ]

-[ Find one Gnomon power crystal] -

-[ This crystal and the General's amulet will be combined in other to get your pass for the Agents academy] -

"You were saying?" Ohana's voice drew back his attention.

"Just Trust me, Ohana, and do as I tell you to, okay? We just met, and I've saved you twice so you should already know by now that I am not a threat to you. I need to find a way out of this prison."

"You can't." She interjected,

"This facility is well secured. The only time this door will be opened is when Agents come in to take our dead bodies."

"Perfect…

"Perfect? When do you think they'll ever come here? And what do you plan to do, kill them again and get us into a lot more trouble?"

"Trust me," Arsenal said with a smile and patted the young lady on her shoulder.

"Just get ready to see some more blood, and help us escape."

"What?"
