Chapter 9 - Chapter 8: Waveblade Sword

Poof!

Ye Hen was hit by a fireball and an arrow, with damage numbers floating above his head: -35 and -25, leaving him with 70% HP. Ye Hen didn't bother dodging; instead, he quickly retaliated, thrusting his dagger into the heart of the green-robed mage, sending him back to the respawn point.

Having taken two kills, Ye Hen remained unflustered. At that moment, an assassin and a warrior from Blood Dance were encircling him.

"No, they still have five members left, I can't fight them all." In the split second it took to think, Ye Hen made his decision, immediately turning to flee. The remaining members of Blood Dance were a warrior, mage, archer, assassin, and swordsman. Although Windfire still had two warriors left, one of them was nearly incapacitated, leaving only Windfire's Crazy Waves with full fighting power.

Ye Hen wasn't afraid of the assassin and warrior pursuing him, but if a mage or archer attacked from a distance, he would be in trouble.

Running at full speed, Ye Hen moved like an arrow shot from a bow. The assassin was barely able to keep up, but the warrior fell far behind.

As Ye Hen sprinted, he thought to himself: the mage's casting range is about 20 meters, and the archer's range is double that. If he can get out of the mage's attack range, he could turn the tide and counterattack!

However, Ye Hen's calculation quickly went awry. After just over 10 meters, the assassin and warrior stopped chasing and turned back, likely after receiving a command from Blood Dance's Red Leader.

"Damn it!" Ye Hen cursed inwardly and turned back in pursuit. This time, the roles had reversed: he was no longer fleeing, but chasing. Blood Dance's members, though arrogant, had the skill to back up their bravado. Their PK abilities were far superior to those of Windfire's.

"He's coming, be careful!" The assassin, Blood Dance Xiao Qiang, warned the warrior, Blood Dance Big Cannon, who quickly turned to face Ye Hen.

Blood Dance Big Cannon brandished his giant axe and took a step forward to meet Ye Hen head-on.

Just as the two were about to clash, Big Cannon's eyes widened in shock as Ye Hen, clad in blue leather armor, suddenly altered his trajectory in a way that defied logic!

Yes, Ye Hen had forcefully changed direction, altering his course in an instant.

"Low health and defense, but you think you can kill me, a big lug like you?" A cold smile curled at Ye Hen's lips as he stabbed into Blood Dance Xiao Qiang's chest before he could react.

Blood Dance Xiao Qiang froze for a moment but quickly recovered, retaliating with a counter stab.

"Nice reaction, but you're still going to die." Ye Hen could have easily dodged the strike, but with an opponent closing in, he didn't retreat. Instead, he stood firm and charged forward, facing the strike head-on. Despite his good gear, being attacked by two would still put him at a disadvantage.

The dagger pierced Ye Hen's chest, but his own stab found its mark in Blood Dance Xiao Qiang's abdomen.

Chilled to the bone, Blood Dance Xiao Qiang quickly retreated, his HP down to 30%. What the hell? He was sure Ye Hen's level was only 1, yet his attack only took away 15% of Ye Hen's HP. With the same class, a level 1 player had more health than a level 4 player? Was he seeing things?

Bang!

Ye Hen was suddenly hit from behind by a charging warrior, taking -20 damage and leaving him with 49% health. Fortunately, the charge didn't trigger a stun.

Ye Hen regained his footing without even glancing at the warrior, immediately chasing after Blood Dance Xiao Qiang.

"Think you can run? Not a chance!" Ye Hen's eyes glinted coldly as he accelerated, quickly catching up to the fleeing Xiao Qiang, finishing him off with a swift stab.

Blood Dance Xiao Qiang died without ever understanding how Ye Hen's attack was so powerful and his speed so terrifying. Even with bronze gear, his stats should have only given him a few extra points. Little did he know that Ye Hen was already equipped with the first golden item on the server.

"Hey, dropped equipment." Ye Hen picked up a pair of leggings dropped by Xiao Qiang, but there was no time to inspect them. He quickly turned toward Windfire Crazy Waves' location.

When Ye Hen returned to the area where the Fire Squirrel respawned, only Windfire Crazy Waves remained, still fighting bravely. Another warrior from Windfire had already fallen.

"Not bad, holding out this long against three attackers." Ye Hen thought to himself, quickly closing the distance to Blood Dance's mage.

Not bad, holding out this long against three attackers." Ye Hen thought to himself, quickly closing the distance to Blood Dance's mage.

"Watch out, the assassin's back!" Blood Dance Big Cannon, who had been trailing behind, screamed.

Big Cannon's frantic shout alerted Blood Dance's remaining members, causing their attacks to momentarily pause as they turned to look behind them. Ye Hen's moves and attacks were so quick and powerful that they couldn't afford to be careless.

However, by the time they realized what was happening, it was too late. Ye Hen's target was already the mage.

Backstab + Lunge!

Before the mage could react, Ye Hen's double strike took him out instantly. Wearing cloth armor with low defense and HP, he was no match for Ye Hen.

With another member down, Blood Dance Red Leader panicked, desperately trying to escape Windfire Crazy Waves' grip to eliminate Ye Hen, the biggest threat.

But Windfire Crazy Waves wouldn't let him off so easily. After watching his own brothers fall to Blood Dance, he refused to lose the chance to turn the tide. This was his one shot to save face with Windfire No Tears.

"Die!" Windfire Crazy Waves roared, swinging his greatsword with reckless abandon, sacrificing defense to keep Red Leader pinned down.

Whoosh!

Ye Hen was struck by a double shot from the archer, Blood Dance Shot, taking -26 and -20 damage.

"Hmph." Ye Hen took the two arrows without flinching, charging toward the archer, his eyes gleaming with menace.

Blood Dance Shot knew there was no way to outrun Ye Hen's pursuit. He made a desperate decision: even if he had to die, he'd take some of Ye Hen's health with him. He drew his bow and shot another arrow.

The arrow whizzed toward Ye Hen, who wasn't about to back down. After taking the arrow head-on, he closed the distance and landed several strikes. The archer, unable to fight back at such close range, fell within seconds, his body dissolving into white light.

Just as Ye Hen was about to help Windfire Crazy Waves finish off Blood Dance Red Leader, Blood Dance Big Cannon arrived, his frustration mounting. He'd chased Ye Hen around only to return to where he started. The low agility of a tank class made it hard for him to keep up.

Ye Hen briefly glanced at Windfire Crazy Waves' health bar, noting that he still had 30% health and wasn't in immediate danger.

"You little bastard, die!" Blood Dance Big Cannon shouted in rage, swinging his giant axe at Ye Hen.

Ye Hen dodged easily, sidestepping the heavy blow. He countered with a backstab, hitting Big Cannon for -50. As expected, the warrior's defense was tough, not comparable to that of cloth or leather armor.

But warriors had their weaknesses. Compared to high-speed, high-skill assassins, Big Cannon was slow and clumsy. He lasted only 20 seconds longer than the archer before collapsing.

With the battle over, Ye Hen quickly joined Windfire Crazy Waves, and the 2v1 was a simple matter. Blood Dance Red Leader cursed in frustration before falling, his weapon dropping to the ground.

"Childish." Ye Hen scoffed, uninterested in responding. This time, he would get back everything that Blood Dance had taken from him in his past life. He picked up Red Leader's dropped blue longsword.
