"Hah! at least you two wimps have each other." said Alex "I always knew I'd beat you one day, Leah. Now I'm the chief and my first order is for all of you to be banished. Never show your pathetic faces here again."
"Oh Alex. . . you are so, so. . . stupid." said Leah, with palpable scorn, as Carla, Emily, and Enna snuck up behind Alex.
I don't think Alex could fight off the three of them under normal circumstances, but she was also clearly fatigued from the duel. I've never seen a smug grin wiped off someone's face so quickly and so thoroughly.
Okay, this time it feels wrong. Alex is fighting back pretty hard. Unfortunately, I really can't turn back now. My other amazon wives have a lot to lose from this.
Adding insult to injury, I also shoved mud inside her. It was unavoidable, there was mud all over her.
"Dammit," said Alex, sulking. "I didn't think of that. I wanted to marry someone strong!"
"Sorry about the mud." I said, feeling pretty bad about everything.
Alex gasped. "Oh no. . . the mud."
Alex started to look uncomfortable. Some of the other amazons were gathering around us.
"Oh calm down," said Emily, stifling laughter. "Titus is way stronger than he looks. He crushed that boar's skull with one kick."
I heard some gasps from the amazons and received some shocked looks.
"Did he really?" asked Alex, her mood completely changing again.
"Yeah, he can do magic too." said Emily.
The amazons were very surprised about that too. I conjured a ball of light to demonstrate my magic, eliciting more gasps from the amazons.
"Hah! I always knew I'd marry the strongest man in the world one day." said Alex, invigorated. "Looks like I was right."
I let out a sigh. At least she's not sulking anymore. I almost feel stupid for feeling so bad about it.
"Alright, does anyone else object to Titus' rule?" asked Leah
"I object!" said one amazon, posing seductively. "What are you gonna do about it?"
"Titus is now our King," said Leah, completely ignoring her. "If you wish to depose him or marry him, you will have to beat Alex in a duel."
Very clever, Leah. The amazons were clearly considering their options, and one by one, they seemed to accept it. Some of them had a really determined look in their eyes. Alex started to look uneasy under the intense glares of some of the other amazons.
The Elf Queen, Sera started applauding as she approached me.
"Well done, my king, very well done indeed," said Sera. "Entire armies could not conquer the amazons, yet you have done it in less than a day. It is simply beyond belief that you also took the elven crown the very same day."
"How did he conquer the elves, anyway?" asked Leah.
Once again, I'm grateful she asked.
"I'm not quite sure how he did it, myself. I can only conclude that he is a master of politics and persuasion. He deftly outmaneuvered me, leveraging our urgent need for a male. When I decided that we should stall the negotiations, he simply left, backing me into a corner. I have to wonder if he also led me to that decision."
