I'm tempted to experiment to explore the potential effects I can have on flesh and blood with storage magic. I might be able to come up with some terrifying magic, depending on a few things I would have to figure out later. But first, I would like to know if I can store this dead boar properly. So, I'll give it my best effort.
After a few moments of concentration, I managed to store the boar.
"I can't be sure I did it right until I bring it back out. I'll get it out when we get close to the village." I said
Everyone nodded in agreement, and we resumed running to the amazon village.
A little while before sunset, Emily and Enna approached the gate to the amazon village carrying the giant boar. The boar was strung to a long shaft that the two of them carried on their shoulders. The amazon village is surrounded by a much more conventional wooden wall that is well fortified. The wall has various well-covered defensive positions.
"I haven't seen you two in a while." said the amazon guard beside the gate.
"Yeah, it took us a while to track this boar." said Emily
"I see. Well, it looks like it was worth the effort. That's a big one."
"It sure is." replied Emily as she started walking through the gate.
"Hang on. . . Is there something different about the two of you?"
"Like what?" asked Enna
"I don't know, you just seem happier than usual."
"Well, it was a very successful hunt." said Emily
"Yes, of course, well done," said the guard. "Hang on, how did you break that boar's skull? I've never seen that before."
"Can I tell you about it later? I need a bath and it has been a long time since I've been back in my own bed."
"Oh yes, of course, sorry for keeping you," said the guard. "It'll be more fun to hear the story over a few drinks, anyhow."
Emily and Enna continued on into the village.
"That worked better than I expected," said Enna.
Then, Emily and Enna went to the village butcher to drop off the boar.
"Whoa, that's a big one." said the amazon butcher. "What a lucky find."
"It wasn't luck, we tracked this thing for days." said Enna
"I see. The two of you might be our tribe's best hunters."
"Thanks. Well, we'll leave it in your care." said Emily
"Of course. . . Whoa, hey now, how did you crush this boar's skull? These boars have such tough skulls, it always takes me such a long time to cut through 'em."
"We can tell everyone all about it later. First, I want to get cleaned up and rest." said Emily. "You won't believe the story."
"I'm looking forward to it."
With that, Emily and Enna continued on. First, they went to the baths to get cleaned up.
"Titus' advice was very helpful." said Enna as she washed Emily's back.
"Yeah, I didn't expect that excuse to work so well." replied Emily.
Emily and Enna finished bathing quickly, and went to look around the village as the sun was setting. They were scouting out the area as part of the plan.
